Vegeta-Tales He's even a horrible lets have a 4 year old color Popo blue. I remember watching Popo's first appearance as a blue genie, and my first reaction was... 'Why the **** is Popo blue?!?' I was on the phone to my mate at the time as well. It was probably to do with racism, that's why they changed him to blue. I don't think it's racist how Popo was originally... I miss the old Popo! sad

I think it's racist that they assume others will find it racist.

I get a weird sense of deja vu watching Kai because the animation style switches within an episode, and that's how the Saban version was too, so there's a huge dissonance going on in my head (even if I'm watching Japanese with subs). It'll always be jarring, apparently!
Also, I'm kind of miffed that they just skipped right over Dragon Ball since it deserves love just as much as Z.
In terms of my actual qualms with the reboot, I don't like that they got rid of the original score. Kikuchi's music was part of what MADE it DB/Z for me. I also kind of miss the fillery bits, even if (or perhaps because) they changed the story.
Haha they would have to cut so much out of dragon ball. xDD

I like the original version better because its 297 episodes but Kai is 100 and the voices are different which I DONT! like. DBZ kai isnt as good as the original!

HOLY CRAP!!!!!!
i agree with you all! i was watching it the one time, of boredom, and i saw frieza appear......his voice was dreadful!!!!!!! by all the gods i thought his original voice was stupid, but this was god awful. made me wanna cry.
they ******** up everything because of these stoopid kids.

Honestly, I thought it was terrible. I don’t understand why they had to make Kai. I mean, really… maybe it is for the people who are younger, who never got to see DBZ or whatever. But I brag about DBZ compared to other Animes and DBZKai cannot match up at all with other GREAT Animes such as Yu Yu Hakusho, G Gundam, or Zoids. Or even the newer animes in Bleach and Naruto Shippuden. The Original is clearly above all of those anime in my personal opinion.
Mr. Popo went from a smooth black, to an awkward, fuzzy looking blue. Everyone used to love Vegeta’s “Over 9.000” quote and Kai messed that up big time by saying, “It’s over 8,000.” Yeah, that’s a total FAIL. *Sigh*
It is just a huge disappointment and upset to the DBZ fans who watched the originals series or the UNCUT Version that used to come on DBZ a few years after the original DBZ and GT were already over. You can say its “Still DBZ” so it can’t be terrible, but if you’re passionate and love DBZ like me, you just can’t sit there and seriously enjoy it. The theme song went from being all about “Dragon, Dragon…” “Dragon Ball Z!” To “Dragon Soul” …. SMDH.
Haha, but that’s all I really have to say about Dragonball Z Kai at this point. Won't even get started on the voices...

I'm watching DBZ Kai again. And it's just..terrible. Even the titles are..terrible. I mean, the Japanese version of DBZ have those type of titles, but they didn't sound so cheesy. I guess because they were in Japanese!
And the lines..are..horrid. Like, emotional reactions are just terrible. In older version that we know and love, we felt the emotions. Because the lines that reflected them didn't sound so..movie cliche.
The reason why I prefer old DBZ to Kai is because I liked the fact that we started with the ocean voices and moved on into the funimation voices. For me, I have observed, it just marks how they are getting older and no longer sound like young adults or teenagers. So, to me, it's like a evolution of the characters through their voices, and it's nice to me.
It's just..ugh. Just ugh!

I officially love all The Dragon Ball shows, That's why I'm cosplaying as Bulma, she is one of my favorite characters besides Vegeta, Guko, Gohan, Piccolo, Trunks, Goten, Pan, Videl, and Krillin ! c: I haven't seen Dragon Ball GT nor all the Dragon Ball series, I only seen the first series of Dragon Ball. >____>;; I also never saw Dragon Ball Z . I am currently watching Dragon Ball Z Kai though..... (I talk a lot) xDDD
