"Don't start patting yourself on the back so fast," Uranophane said with half a sneer -- though it seemed at least that was mostly towards the chain wrapped around her wrists and not her sparring partner. The clipboard vanished again with a pop! that was small and yet terribly audible in the room's acoustics, and she wriggled her hands to test how much Wolframite's weapon would give against them.

"You were fighting armed against an unarmed opponent," she continued. "Or at least, unarmed until the last second... but the point is, this wasn't completely realistic for the sort of thing we're fighting against. However, you've proven that you can adapt to a situation so long as you're thinking about what you're doing. That's good."

Uranophane narrowed her eyes, glaring at the chain again and trailing slowly back up to its wielder, giving Wolframite a pointed, expectant look. Then, after a few seconds: "...Would you please get this thing off me?"

He was cut down before he got too full of himself, and he stood at attention when he was put in his place and prevented from getting too cocky. Nodding along with what she had to say, he felt his moment of victory diminish to just being able to get by. It meant that he probably wouldn't find it as easy as this to attack a senshi, which was saying something when he was panting with just fighting an unarmed Captain. However, he did guess that there was something of a compliment in being able to think quickly. That was…something.

When Uranophane finally barked at him to let go, he jerked and flustered. "Oh, sorry! I completely forgot. Let me take care of that for…there we go." He dismissed his weapon, leaving Uranophane with free use of her hands. Moving in, he reached out but did not touch her, wanting to see if her wrists were well. "I didn't get you too badly, did I?" Now that the fight was over, he realized he had done some damage to a fellow teammate – even when Uranophane got a few good shoves in too.

Curling his hands back in, he went back to catching his breath. The cool chamber was now no longer chilling but a welcoming cool to how warm he felt, and while it wasn't the same victory as before, he couldn't help but feel he made some progress. "Thanks. …for this. I really need all the help I can get. No hard feelings about the cuts?"

He wiped his brow with his sleeve and felt his heart race slowing down. "I'd hate to tango with you when you actually use your weapon." She was miles ahead of him when it came to fighting.

There was a curt sigh of relief once Uranophane's wrists were freed, and she offered an earnest "Thank you, Captain," while flexing her fingers and assessing the state of her hands. There were a couple of points where her gloves had gotten torn: the base of one thumb had gotten sliced a bit, and no doubt there would be some bruising on her arms for a little while to come. "It's nothing I can't walk off," she concluded with a bemused pitch of the brow. "And you're still standing like an able-bodied person, so I'm guessing you'll live to fight another day."

It was evident that if her parents carried any bedside manner in her work, she hadn't picked up on much of it herself.

"I'm glad this ended up being worth our time," she replied with a slow nod, looking and sounding official as ever despite the amicability of the words themselves. "But to be fair, you'll probably get the upper hand over me once you have enough practice, unless I get better at dodging that damn thing. It's all a matter of working around those... setbacks of yours."

He had only heard senshi curse out his weapon that it seemed a little funny to hear the other officer talk about his weapon. Before it had been a joke, but not it was something that actually looked like it could do damage and did. It was a good thing as he needed that sort of protection, and the training was only helping with that. Despite the limitations that Uranophane refrained from directly addressing and used her own tact to talk around it instead, he felt more confident than before that he was making progress.

"Thank you. I'll be working and practicing in each and every way to improve. I really do hope to be a force to be reckoned with and not just wind up setting us all back more." Not that he himself kept the Negaverse from progressing, but it didn't help anyone to have a half-blinded Captain who couldn’t even protect himself or use his weapon.

With that, he smiled, finally having caught his breath but still feeling a little racing of his heart. As he had always believed, hard work would make all the difference and he just had to keep pushing himself to overcome these 'setbacks' in the end. Still, it was good to have the help. He wouldn't forget it anytime soon.
