Daughter? Ah, so this lovely was taken already. That was alright. She wasn't hurting anything, and no mate would be jealous of two girls spending time. Even if the male had...wait, three or more females? If there were other mothers... She wasn't running away from that pride of harems was she?
In'ta had not heard all that many good things about that place. The last male who tried to sweet-talk her into it followed that failed attempt up with a whack to her skull that made her ears ring. Naturally, she whacked him back and left his furry gold butt unconscious under a tree. Wrapped in vines. So there. Jerk.
"What this? It's just a scratch is all. I get worse from playing in brambles," she joked, her soft eyes bright with fun. She liked this leopardess. Even if she was taken and therefore utterly offlimits. "But if there's a way you know to make it less annoying, I would appreciate it. My name is difficult, so most just call me In'ta. May I ask yours? Or would princess suffice?" Okay, so maybe she was pushing it a little. But the leopardess was free to sulk off if she wished, In'ta would not chase her or hurt her. She was just a little heady with adrenaline was all.
Like catnip only easier to come by. And it even came with damsels sometimes too.

Dysi was pleased to see that she was a even tempered female, when not protecting others. She was even making jokes! He chuckled to himself. "Brambles? I can see you were not a sit at home and play families kind of cub?" He mused and glanced around, trying to spot a familiar herb or plant that might help ease the sting of the cut. Spotting a odd looking green plant, he went over and sniffed it. It seemed familiar and when he cut the leaves, it oozed a little. Perfect. He plucked some of the leaves, careful not to bite because that ooze was disgusting - he'd learnt from experiences. When his mother told him 'don't lick your cut once I put this on there' he really should have listened.
He placed it by her paws, smiling up at her. Wow, she was huge, he mused. "Cut it a bit and put it on the cut. It should ease it a bit, and stop that annoying itching later," he told her gently.
"In'ta? It's a pleasure to meet you," he bowed his head to her, choking on a laugh at 'princess'. "Princess? Well, I might answer to it, by my name is Dysini'mbus, but please call me Dysi."
He smiled at her.

"No, too tame for me. I don't mind playing along now, but I was a high-energy cubling," the lioness laughed, then snorted. Curse this cut on her nose... In'ta watched curiously as the pretty leopard moved off to look around the plants. Everything was green and tasted not so pleasant. That was about the extent of In'ta's herblore. Congratulations, she'll fight off a rabid hoard but cannot cure a sniffle. Sorry.
Her paw partially crushed the leaf as she very carefully dragged her claws through it and then rubbed her plantjuice-stained paw across her nose. And then sniffled again. Now her nose smelled funny. Bleh. But it didn't hurt as much. Purring slightly, she rubbed her paw over the rip in her ear as well. "This is amazing. I didn't know you were a healer!" she cried, looking from her paw to the leopardess. "It's wonderful to make your lovely acquaintance miss Dysi."

Dysi chuckled, amused at the female's comment. Dysi had always been a girly cub. Probably because he grew up with so many sisters, but he liked nothing better then playing family - he was usually cast as the 'mother' despite he was the only boy, and probably should have played the 'father' role by default - and playing with flowers. It just showed how different he and In'ta were.
"I'm not," Dysi denied, but was smiling warmly. "But my cubs get into scrapes all the time and I need to know how to take care of them, if they're hurt. Sort of...encouraged learning. No where near a healer though."
Dysi blinked. Wait a second...Miss? For a moment, Dysi was insulted. Sure, he looked girly but after talking with him, surely she had realised that he was a boy, not a girl? He peered at her. He cough. "The pleasure is all mine, Miss In'ta," he said calmly, before adding awkwardly, "but I fear you are mistaken with me. I am a mister...not a miss." And that - that was one of the weirdest sentence Dysi had ever had to say.

"Well, I'd better remember this leaf for future scrapes," In'ta chuckled, sniffing at the crushed and broken thing to try and remember the scent of it. This would be useful if she could only remember it properly... wait what?
"Oh...oh gods...I am...I am so sorry," the lioness gasped, her ears flattening with embarrassment. "I didn't mean...usually I...I'm more used to... I'm sorry," she repeated. Please don't let the poor boy be upset. "I'm used to people much littler than me being lionesses. I didn't...account for your being a leopard." Which wasn't the whole truth, but she was afraid saying she'd thought him to be quite pretty might only make this worse.

Dysi almost felt bad for correcting her, seeing how she reacted to his correction. She looked really embarrassed and he could understand that sometimes it was hard to tell the difference, especially with someone who looked as feminine as Dysi. However, her last comment made his ears droop. He was small, so he had to be girly? Well, that wasn't really fair! There were lots of small males around...not that he had met a lot of them but they had to be around somewhere, didn't they?
"It's fine," Dysi said, trying to shrug off his insulted nature, giving her a forced smile. "Honest mistake! I mean, I wasn't really acting too manly anyway, so it doesn't matter."

"That's not what I-" In'ta tried to protest, then chewed her lip instead. Oh drat, this was turning out all wrong. She felt like the bully she'd just chased off. What was wrong with her today? Maybe a different tactic then? Sorta? Well, what was there to lose? She'd been happy to flirt with him when he was a her. Nothing had changed really, right?
"Well, we can always have a bit of fun anyway, right?" she tried, though she stumbled over the sentence. Curse it, she'd never managed to be 'blunt' before. And she'd never flirted with a boy before either. Weirdness all the way around here... but he was still such a pretty feline. He made a lovely damsel, even though it wasn't nice to like seeing someone in distress.

Well...that was an abrupt change of conversation, Dysi thought to himself, eyeing the female as she appeared to attempt to flirt with him. She didn't seem too into it though, and it seemed rather...awkward. Dysi smiled at her.
"You don't need to flatter me, if you're not interested," Dysi assured her, a little regretful. She was rather beautiful, but she seemed less interested now that she knew Dysi was not a girl. Sure, he was still girly just not a girl.

And she was still upsetting him. Oh bother. In'ta coughed awkwardly, shaking her head. "You're still the same person you were a second ago. I've just...uh...never uh...you know. With...yeah. Uhm. Yeah."
Because that was a clear sentence. Literate and easy to understand. Straight and to the point. Yup. She was making so much sense right now. "Sorry." She could feel herself warm beneath the fur, thank goodness her pelt was thick enough to hide it.
How did this wind up like this anyway?

Oh. His eyes widened slightly as he tried to figure out what she had been trying to say with her stammered sentence. She didn't usually flirt with men? Now he felt really bad that he had told her he was not a she. She probably rather like Dysi as a girl and then he ruined it by being a boy. Not that he could change his gender, but still.
"Well, then you really don't have to flirt then," he told her earnestly, giving a slight laugh. "I'm very sorry I'm not a girl right now. You are a beautiful female," he said, no awkwardness in his compliment to her. He smiled.

If she hadn't felt as though she were blushing before, she most assuredly would have been after that statement. Beautiful? Her? Wasn't quite the word she'd choose. Big and bulky, with muscle and scarring that was, thankfully, still mostly hidden by her thick splotchy pelt. She didn't feel she was ugly or anything dramatic like that. But she thought that the beautiful ones were the small, sweet, delicate girls that sang songs to little ones and made flower chains with their sisters. Not hulking felines like herself.
"You're still a sweetling," the lioness finally smiled, feeling stupidly shy. Honestly, she'd just fought off an angry lion. She should be feeling tough and confident! Not like she wanted to melt into a gooey puddle of...of...of...something gooey. Or something. "I think I still like you anyway, mister Dysi."
So there.

Dysi was stunned by her smile, and grinned, unable to help himself. If he thought she was beautiful before, then she was absolutely stunning now, now that she was smiling. In battle she had been ferocious and dangerous, but now she seemed sweet and soft, like two completely different people standing before him.
He almost missed her statement, but his smile only widened at her words. "I'm glad to hear that, Miss In'ta," Dysi said quietly. "I'm pretty sure I still like you too." He gave her a playful wink, pleased that she still liked him, despite his gender.
