Ava nodded to both girls before heading outside. There was an hour or so to stay out of doors and she planned on taking a trip to the gardens. She needed a little quiet time which she wasn't likely to get in the commons.
The gardens surrounded the mansion on three sides, she headed to the left side. There was a fountain there that had some sort of charm on it that muffled sounds on the outside. Usually teenagers wouldn't snog there for fear of getting caught. In other words, it was perfect.
The fountain was an angel with decaying wings, imploring the heavens. Water flowed from it's fingertips into the rippling pool below.
Ava took out her book and began to read. It was Iustas' again. She hadn't had a spare moment since she last tried to read it. She scratched notes on to a pad beside her.

Ava got deep into the book, her nose , literally, kept drifting closer to the page. She would shout eureka every few minutes and scribble something down madly. She looked like a Saint Mungo's insanity ward patient.

Finally! She found the breakthrough she had needed after reading up on these dark spells for months. A slight modification and most of them would become light spells, the problem with most of the dark spells is that many people focused on how they are usually used. And here in her hands was a countercurse for the killing curse. The killing curse itself, modified, it was all about intention. She walked out of the garden muttering, "Perfect" over and over again.

Avarielle was pushed out of the way by Gawain on her way back into the school. "Maybe you should be thinking about where you are going." He told her.
And she replied, "Maybe you shouldn't leave your charms book in the library. For anyone to find." He turned white for a second but then just turned away and towards her usual hiding spot. Maybe to accost Neylie.

Sapphire went out on the grounds with a drawing pad in her hand. The art she drew consisted centaurs, dragons, and giants. Each and every drawing had grace and poise to it, even giants. People thought it was strange that a girl with such angry movements would draw such graceful beings. Her eyes glinted with some pride as she looked over the art. Her skirt rustled slightly in the breeze as she focused on art, excluding all else from her mind.

Gawain walked up to Neylie with determination. His lip curved when she opened her eyes from her meditation. He walked into the silence in such a way that made it seem he was accustomed to it. "Neylie? Headmaster Rote wants to see you in his office."

Sapphire looked up from her drawings and was next to Neylie in a flash. She wasn't going to let someone from her house get hurt. "What do you want with Neylie? What you can tell her you can tell me." Sapphire smirked and she pulled out her wand. I don't like pranksters, boy.
