Ara is starting to mature by leaps and bounds! I think the little classes have been helping her a lot. She has been trying harder and harder to try to pronounce the words I'm teaching her. I think her playtime with Gabe has been helping a lot too. She simply adores him. It's rather cute. I don't think he knows what to make of the attention. I need to invite Ry over more often. It does all the Dreams good to socialize.
And here comes Ara trying to climb into my lap and watch me write. At least she hasn't started grabbing for my pen yet. Silly little bugge-

Oh. My. Gawd. She just said her first word. I think. but it definitely sounded like a word. She just tried to say Fox. I wonder if shes trying to ask to play with Gabe. Wouldn't surprise me. I have to let Ry know. Hell get a kick out of it.

Does it ever end?! Ara has decided that now that she is trying to talk it is my personal duty to follow her around the castle and fields saying words as she points at things. It is very adorable the way she tries so hard to say the words. Every so often I get to point while she tells me what it is. She is very pleased with herself at these times. Before we all know it little Ara will be talking all of our ears off.
She also seems to have taken it upon herself to learn all the horse's names as well. The way she follows London around while he does his chores would make anyone die laughing. the fact that he grew seems to excite her very much as well. She likes to try to make him carry her around all the time now too. What a laugh. Bright little thing.

Arabelle has started to string together her words into phrases. It seems like she's pursuing the idea of learning how to talk with a passion now. She tries her best to hold conversations with everyone with what little she can string together. She also tries very hard to pronounce and enunciate things correctly.
I never realized just how good Craig was with kids. Watching Ara try to talk to him made me realize just how much he actually enjoys staying with us. He will go out of his way to ask her questions about how her day was and whatever her favorites of the day may be. She is even starting to specifically seek him out to show him things that she makes or finds. He never disappoints her with his responses either.It's so cute.
She's also learning in leaps and bounds. Everything we put in front of her school-wise she makes an effort to pick it up. though she much prefers being outside than to sitting in the library.

I think Ara's finally figure out the whole talking thing. Now she starts conversations with everyone and everything she comes into contact with. Like just this morning. I got her dressed and managed to get her breakfast down her between sentences, then, since shes getting more able to handle herself I sent her outside to play. Later in the day when I went to retrieve her for the picnic lunch I made for us to share in the garden I heard her talking. Figuring she had cornered one of the teens or Craig I followed her voice preparing to perform a rescue. When I rounded the corner into sight of her I stopped dead in my tracks. There was no one else there. Ara was hunched over something small on the ground.
Not wanting to startle her too badly I called her name and asked what she was doing as I made my way over. She turned her head to smile at me and motioned to a tiny plant on the ground in front of her between her cupped hands. She then very calmly explained to me that it was being shy so she was encouraging it to be a little more brave so it could grow big and strong. I praised her for showing so much interest in the plant's welfare and laid out our lunch.
Note to self. Keep an eye on the plants she spends a lot of time around. They say that just talking to them helps them grow. I wonder what happens when a Dream talks to them.

I just have this feeling that Ara is going to grow soon. There's this energy around her. I can't really explain. Anyway, when I first noticed the change in her I decided that it was time to go pick out her clothes. So I packed her into the car and off into town we went. We went through several specialty clothes shops before we found one that had clothes we both agreed on. She spent the next hour talking the ear off everyone who would come within earshot. Which were quite a few people as they were showing us different clothes.
She almost instantly fell in love with a lace up backed, halter-top style coat that was fitted at the waist, cutting under the bust with detached long sleeves that were tight around the upper arm but belled out at the bottom. The back was long and full almost like a train and would reach down to the ankles when worn. Of course the thing was adorned with all sorts of lace and ribbons. Then the battle began of what to wear under the coat. She kept wanting short skirts and corsets. I think she pays too much attention to what I wear. Ugh. We were finally able to compromise on a pair of shorts and a shirt that was fitted at the waist with corset like lacing but was looser around the bust.
The shoes we picked were kind of a cross between strappy heels and lace-up boots. to be worn over thigh highs with lacey tops. We chose the colors which were mostly pink and white andI gave them approximate measurements and said I would call when I knew exacts. You'd think that after such a full day Ara would want to go home. But nooooo. She insisted on visiting Elliotte first. Oh, well. Gives me a chance to see d**k.

I love it when I'm right! Ara grew today! I was awoken to the sound of happy squealing and opened my eyes to a very beautiful naked butterfly girl admiring herself in my vanity mirror. She was so excited to go tell the world that I had to stop her from running into the hall skinclad. We managed to get her into some of my more conservative clothing before she took off to show the world. Poor Craig. Poor London. At least I managed to measure her. As soon as the clothing place opened I called them and gave them the finishing order. The clothes would be ready tomorrow. She would of course want to go with me to pick them up so she could show Elliotte her new self. Oh, well.
I trailed her downstairs and found her bouncing at Sylphae. Poor thing couldn't get a word in edgewise even if she wanted to. I drug Ara away to help with breakfast. Not that that lasted long. As soon as Craig came in she was off to be hanging off him. and of course he humored her. Silly gay man. By the time London made it down she had settled a bit but was up to hug him as soon as his shadow darkened the doorway. We did eventually manage to get sat down for food. I of course prepared something special. I'll give you a hint. It involved strawberries.

Dear diary,
At least, that's how the girls in the books I've read start it. I hope that's right. Anyway, Dear Diary, the castle has been so quiet with Elliotte gone. I was so excited to grow and now the only people around are London and Syl and Berry. Of course Master Craig is about but he probably doesn't have time for a silly girl like me. nobody really seems to actually. London and Syl are always with the horses. Horses are nice but I've never really gotten them the way they do. I ride to slow to keep up with them so I can't really tag along. Not that they would want me to anyway.
Berry is always around the horses too. She's working on training now. I don't want to be in her way either. though I can't complain too much. she does take time out of her day to spend with me. Sometimes she'll sit in the gardens with me or come up to my crystal room and dance with me for a while. But I want someone I can really spend time with. A companion or friend that I can confide in. When I mentioned this Berry suggested I start writing in my own journal. Journal is such a manly word. I prefer to call it my diary. It's nice to write in and all but I still want a friend.
I will admit when I do seek out Master Craig he is never rude to me or brushes me off. In fact he devotes his full attention to me and listens to me. He may be nice but but I still feel as though I'm imposing. I mean, after all he is a boy and probably doesn't care about the goings on of a silly girl. I wish I had a friend.

Dear Diary,
Something wonderful has happened today. I'm so excited that I'm having trouble arranging my thoughts. I'll try though just so that I can get this down.
today I sought out the company of Master Craig. He happily obliged me and agreed that he would be more than willing to walk in the castle gardens with me. As we were walking along discussing the loveliness of the flowers this time of season we heard a pitiful sound.
He stopped me and held up a hand for silence. The sound came again. It sounded like a very upset critter. We listened a moment more and when the sound repeated Master Craig began to follow it to its source beckoning me along. We followed it and found ourselves at the base of Elliotte's old favorite climbing tree. Master Craig peered up into the branches for a moment before lifting his hand to point out a tiny white fluff high up in the branches. The sorrowful sound seemed to be coming from it.
"I wonder what scared it so high up there." he mused allowed. "Hold on a minute Ara. Wait here." With that he lunged up the trunk of the tree catching its lowest branch and began to pull himself up. i watched as he climbed branch by careful branch so as not to startle the poor white fluffball that watched him with wide eyes. When he finally got within reach of it, it startled and started to scoot away. quickly he reached out his arm and scooped it gently up.
Holding it safely against his chest he began his descent with only one arm. His muscles stood out impressively. I feel like such a girly girl for noticing that. Anyway, he made his way down the tree jumping from the last branch to the ground.
"Come here Ara." He said softly. I stepped over to him curious about the poor thing that he had saved. that was when he deposited the tiny long haired white kitten into my arms.
"I think she needs a friend too." He told me with a smile. I was so happy I hugged him. and that is the story of how I got my little kitty. She's sleeping now laying next to me on the bed. I've decided to name her Star. Because the first time I saw her she was so high and out of reach but then she descended and made my wish for a friend come true.

Dear Diary,
Today Berry came to find me. She looked very serious and I was a little worried at first. She asked me to walk with her in my garden for a bit. So that's where we were when she asked me the question that has kept me up so late tonight.She asked if I wanted to join El in the city and live with d**k. I would be enrolled in an actual school. Public or private. My choice. I would even get to choose which I went to. And I would get to take Star. At first I was very excited. But then I thought about leaving Berry. And Master Craig. And London. And Sylphae. Even if she never seemed to care I was there. And then, my beautiful tower room filled with shimmering crystals.
Berry was confused when she saw my excitement fall and when she asked why I couldn't help but cry. She sat on a bench and pulled me into her lap like she had so many times when I was a child and soothed me. She said I could decide to go whenever I wanted. I could wait months if I wanted. Personally I think that would be rather unfair of me which is why I'm worrying over it tonight. Even now I write by the light of a single candle that is brightened by my crystal room. I think I will go. I want to see what the city is like. I want to meet people. I will just have to come back a lot to visit. That way I won't be leaving anyone behind. I think I heard that even Gabe is staying there too . . .
