Nerissa took the sign up sheet once Jeremiah had written his name on it. If one could judge by handwriting, she'd have to say all three of them were very different sorts of personalities. Nerissa wrote her name in a small cramped cursive under Jeremiah's then replaced it on the desk it had been lifted from. Just in case they were fortunate enough to have a fourth member wander in and all.

Drawing lots was brought up then. The mere image of them reaching into a box to pluck at three folded pieces of paper amused Nerissa for some reason. Still, paper was a excellent idea at this point. Nerissa crossed to the chair she had slung her backpack into upon entering the room. Unzipping the plain blue canvas open, she tugged out a notebook.

"Don't apologize Miah." Nerissa replied while seating herself in a chair and flipping the notebook open to a blank page. Her red eyes flicked up and she continued to half smile. "I agree with Alastar on this. Your energy and ability to get carried away is why being president is a good idea for you." Not to mention she doubted that Miah would have been able to focus on command, thus making him more annoying and less amusing for whoever was in the lead. Nerissa glanced down at the blank sheet of paper and casually doodled a circle in one corner of the page. It was a relief for Alastar to take the task of treasurer, Nerissa wouldn't have wanted to admit that money and math would have made her uncomfortable a little. Nerissa tapped her pen on the page for a moment and glanced up to the two boys.

"I think each club is allotted a sort of allowance or something by the school. I can look into that later, as well as find out if there is any sort of paperwork we need to fill out. We don't have a senior member to walk us through all the steps so I don't want to be caught unaware by something down the road."

What about the genre that Alastar wanted to address? Nerissa glanced to the last years agenda. They didn't want to make the same mistakes as their predecessors of the club. Like Miah had said, they wanted to encourage people to join.

"Well, kids our age do like games. And Miah, you had a good idea in talking to some of the other clubs. Maybe you could find one that would offer assistance to us. The gaming club of course, and the art club could be good for concept art after we get the genre picked out." Nerissa couldn't help but grin a bit widely and looked up at the boys. "Ha ha. We could always make one of those dating games with a fantasy twist. The girls could be dressed up in magical girl outfits and the boys in superhero costumes?" Of course she was being silly, but it didn't hurt to test her new club mates senses of humor. Nerissa swooped a doodly loop around the circle she had drawn. "We could call it Hand of Destiny, I'm sure we'd have a lovely following and tons of support then."

Still grinning, Nerissa waved her hand in the air as she addressed Alastar's question. " The game would be easier to program as it would be a simple system of clicking choices. It would lack the complexity of programming in the ratio of possibilities in a free run world, plus we could spend more time on the actual concept of the game, with the possibility of creating mods. It could even be simplified into a application for peoples phones." She turned to glance at the paper in front of her. "I would need more help coming up with the context though. Coding I can do great and fine. Conversation and plots though I will need some help with." She blinked and with another small chuckle she looked back between the two boys. "I'm referring to the style of game by the way. The Dating thing was a joke. We could do like a mystery game that runs the same way too."

When the other two justified his spur of the moment declaration it felt right somehow. His ambition was admirable but sometimes he got a little carried away and that caused problems. As he watched the other two closely he thought that perhaps he might just have found two people who understood him. His insecurity vanished as quickly as it had appeared as he grinned.

Listening to Narissa he tapped his lip in consideration before saying, “I definitely like the idea of a dating sim with a mystery somehow involved. I enjoy playing those types of games, myself, so perhaps we could draw on a few good ones for inspiration? And then maybe we can get the artists to come up with some simple sketches to base our characters on. I can help with the writing and plot as long as you two throw in some good ideas.”

While a dating game wouldn't have been his first idea, Alastar would have been quick to admit he lacked imagination and would have suggested something like a shooter or racing game. He quickly warmed to the idea though; in part because the other two seemed enthusiastic about it, but also for the practical fact that Nerissa was right. A game like that would be a relatively simple; something even Alastar's limited programming knowledge could grasp. "Alright then; a mystery, fantasy, dating game it is. I guess we could work in the mystery and fantasy idea with a Halloween theme? That would give us a motive for all the characters to be dressed up in fancy dress. Maybe make it like a reverse scooby doo episode? Where everyone is dressed up and the player has to work out which one real is a ghost or demon. Well that's an idea anyway. We can iron out the details later"

Alastar glanced at his watch and then out the window at the lowering sun. "Hmm, it's getting a bit late. Do you think we should wait around for anyone else to turn up? If not I think I'll be going... You guys want to come? There's this small café on my way home, we could go there and chat if you don't have plans?"

Somehow this was all feeling far more easy then Nerissa had ever thought it would be. She listened to both Miah and Alastar as they took her silly goof of an idea to turn it into a true idea. Her lips curled unconsciously into a very pleased grin. Who would have known that she would have found such agreeable potential friends just by hanging out in a abandoned club room? Nerissa began to reach for her pack with the intention of jotting down their ideas for future reference. Yet as Alastar would direct their attention away from the game and back to the club itself, she glanced up at the clock. "Wow...it is getting rather late isn't it? Amazing how time just ticks on by huh?" She remarks with vague amusement. She finished reaching for her back pack, but only to sling it over her shoulder. With the sign up sheet in her hand, she flapped the paper back and forth like a limp fan.

"I don't think there will be anymore visitors today. I'll drop this off with the office first thing tomorrow. I figure club business can certainly wait till school hours tomorrow eh?" With a small shrug of her pack to her shoulder, she found herself smiling even more brightly. So Alastar wanted to hang out more? This was...well fantastic. Nerissa tucked the paper into her pack as she continued to speak.

"I don't have any plans personally and no reason to hurry home. I'd love to hang out a bit more and get to know you two." She looked between the two boys and gave the pair a small thumbs up. "I got a real good feeling about today. Like this is bound to be one of those great childhood memories you can remember easily when your all old and gray headed." Nerissa turned, rather smartly, on the ball of her left foot and strutted towards the door.

"I hope this cafe of yours has cheesecake Alastar. I think this day qualifies for a little indulgence!"

Miah wanted to keep talking about the club and the potential but if the other two wanted to go to a cafe, he was all for it. He enjoyed a good cup of coffee, especially if it was actually a latte. "Sounds good to me, since I really don't have anything better to do. Who wants to do homework, anyways?" He said, laughing. He straightened his messenger bag and did a flamboyant gesture to the door before saying, "After you my dear friends!"

When Nerissa mentioned 'old and grey headed' Alastar raised a hand to his own, near white hair; he only realised he was doing it when he felt his fingers brush through his hair and immediately shifted his hand to his glasses as if he were adjusting them. Quickly gathering up his own bag he headed after Nerissa, pausing a brief moment to cast an odd glance at Miah's dramatic flourish before moving to walk alongside Nerissa. "Cheesecake? Erm... To be honest I've no idea. It's not something I've ever ordered myself and I don't recall the entire menu. They do sell cookies, brownies, various muffins and such; so it's quite possible they have cheesecake too. I do know they serve the best mocha's I've ever had." A small smile spread across his lips as he recalled the delicious flavour.

As they walked on for a bit, Alastar silently wondered about his two fellow students and where he stood in their regards. Frowning a little he fussed with his glasses before turning to the others. "Sooo... Are you two both native to the city? My family only recently moved here and this is my first term at the school."

Miah's dramatic nature seemed to not be just an act. Nerissa had to note this after he gestured for her and Alastar to exit the room. Well, most groups of friends had at least one oddball in the mix, she was just happy that it wasn't her! Nerissa coiled a finger through her blue hair as she walked down the hall and chuckled at Miah. "Speak for yourself. Homework breaks up the boredom of home life for me. I rather like having a reason to run around town to the library when my folks decide that now is the time to start adding chores to my list of responsibilities." With a shrug of her shoulder Nerissa glanced towards the door that was the exit, and turned to lean back against the bar. Pushing it open, she waited for the other two to follow her out.

"Mocha huh? I'll give it a try. I'm more of a tea sort of girl though. There are so many different flavors of tea, I like to try new ones when I get the chance." Nerissa stepped away from the door to resume walking along with Alastar. her head tilted so she could glance at Miah as well. "I have lived in Kings city my whole life. My father runs a sort of repair shop kinda place. You bring him things and he fixes them up. Not the most glamorous of jobs but he loves it. If you want a show around town I could arrange that, but it would be a whole lot of walking. I don't have a car or anything. What about you Puck?" She asked with a grin back at Miah.

Jeremiah thought about his answer for a little bit before deciding to tell them half the truth. He didn't know about Alastar's family and he hated that Nerissa might take advantage of the full truth. Sometimes he really did hate being a Crowne.

"My family has lived here for what seems like an eternity, though I haven't lived here in a while. Just sort of moved back for high school." He said, shrugging his shoulders.

No need to let on that he'd been off at boarding school before he'd come to live in Kings City. Hell, he'd been burned one too many times by admitting to someone who his family was.

"Yes. Thank you Nerissa. I'd love a tour of town. I've explored a little myself but mostly just the neighbourhood around our new house. Maybe next weekend, if you don't already have plans of course." Alastar was eager enough to take up Nerissa's offer; after all he'd hardly been here long enough to unpack, let alone learn his way about the whole city.

Slowing a little Alastar cast a thoughtful look at Miah, compared to his attitude up till now he suddenly seemed a little reserved. Alastar didn't comment though, as he wasn't very good at reading people and didn't know if he might be reading too much into it; so he just kept walking, leading the way towards the coffee shop.

"My dad is a consultant for an international construction firm, so he travelled a lot. Stadiums in London, resorts in Dubai, office blocks in Shanghai and so on. We rarely settled anywhere for more than a year or so. Then he got a promotion to the company offices here, so it looks like we'll be here for the next while; which is nice I guess..."

Hmmm. So both of the boys seemed to be a bit out of their element? Nerissa shifted her position so she could have a easier time talking to both of them. As the only real local she had a good advantage here. Alastar seemed rather open to a outing with her. If she were a more flirty sort of girl she'd probably have ruined the moment by making some sort of old overdone comment about favorite sites or something equally sappy. Instead, she turned to gesture towards Miah. "Well how about this then. Since you've been away for a while Miah, why don't all three of us get together this weekend. We can walk around town, you know. Hang out a little bit more and just get to know one another? I know of some nice book stores and a good second hand store I could show you two to." There, as a threesome outing it would be more relaxed, or so she hoped. Besides, she rather liked the feel of this group. She felt relaxed, and there was no pressure to act a certain way and keep up some sort of first impression appearance or something like that. Nerissa smiled and glanced upwards towards the sky as she walked along with the pair of boys. "I think you will like it here in Kings City Alastar. I'm sure Miah can back me up on this, but it's a pretty nice city. Sure there are some elements that sort of darken the doorstep, as it were. But there are those kinds everywhere in the world. I'd love to hear about the places you two have been to though. I've never left the city and it sounds sort of exciting to have lived elsewhere."

Jeremiah relaxed a little after hearing Alastar's description of his family's moving. Maybe after a little while he could let them know the truth but until then, he was just going to stay to himself. When Miah heard Nerissa mention going out, he shrugged before saying, "I would but it's getting pretty late and I need to go home. It's been a long day and I want to start putting some plans into motion."
PostPosted: Sat Aug 06, 2011 12:54 pm

Walking along Alastar nodded at Nerissa's suggestion. "Sure, sounds good. I don't have any plans for the weekend and getting a tour from someone who knows the area is always better than just randomly wandering around the place. I'm not sure I'd call my travels 'exciting' though. 'Tedious' might be a better word. I never shared my parents wanderlust. I'm just glad we settled somewhere that I spoke the language and won't be judged as a tourist or foreigner the whole time."

In response to Jeremiah, Alastar stopped and faced him. "Well if you have to head off, I guess I'll see you later? Now that I know to look out for you I'm sure we'll see each other round school.... Actually..." Alastar slung his bag off his back and rummaged around in it for a pen and some paper. He jotted something down and handed the page to Jeremiah. "Since we're going to be running this club together, we might as well stay in touch. That's my email and mobile number, well when I remember to turn it on anyway." Even as he said it, Alastar started searching for his phone to check on it.

Nerissa's steps came to a pause. She was not wearing a watch, so she was not certain what time it was at the moment. Her red eyes lifted upwards and she glanced over the sky. Wow. The sun was actually pretty low wasn't it? Nerissa was surprised that so much of the day had passed already. She turned to Miah and Alastar both. "It is pretty late isn't it? The time just flew." She placed a hand on her hip and made a small gesture down the street. "My house is over that ways. Mom will probably wonder where I am." Nerissa took the paper offered to her by Alastar and glanced over the information upon it.

"I do not have a cell phone but... I can give you my home number at least. I'll e-mail it to you tonight Alastar. All I need is your e-mail and I can do the same with you." As she spoke she slipped a pencil from her pack so she could write the info down from the other boy. It was a modern age after all, Nerissa had no qualms with being the one to get a boys information. They were all going to be friends after all right?

((Since we wanna scoot this to a ending so we can get them to their awakening I'm going to nudge Nerissa along a little?))

After Nerissa got the information from Miah, she gave the boys another parting wave. She angled herself down a street that connected to another that would lead her home. She'd have a lot to tell her mother tonight for sure, and a lot more to look forwards to tomorrow. She could not wait for school tomorrow!

Miah scrawled out his information in his decidedly feminine handwriting. Today had been pretty interesting - maybe this time he would stick around this club for longer than a few minutes. Plus, maybe he could let these two in and not at an arm's length. With a last smile and wave, Jeremiah left with grin on his face.
