Close now, so very close. Mica could see the retention pond and was letting the monster back her up close to the edge. So as not to alarm the drunk girl that she had been carefully sheparding, Mica began to circle the monster so it would be between her and the pond.
Feeling the presence of the blissfully ignorant drunk remaining obediently behind her, Mica glanced at Ilmenite and shot him a small smile. “ I’ve been stalking you to see if you can think fast.”
Mica gave a short nod of her head at the monster before spinning around and grabbing the floozy under her armpits. Bracing herself before the girl could protest, Mica lifted the girl and spun in a strange, crouching whirl, using the momentum to swing the girl into the rock monster. It was like using a heavy, fleshy, noisy baseball bat and with any luck she’d hit a homerun by knocking the monster back into the pond.
And not get pummeled by the boyfriend, of course.

She hit the monster squarely, the girl shrieking out her panic and surprise and then, abruptly, going quiet: impossible to tell if she had just passed out or if Mica had done her real damage. Ilmenite's eyes tracked the tumble of rock into water, took in the way it dissolved as it sank below the surface, bubbling and steaming. It took him a moment to realize exactly what the other Lieutenant had done.
Took him about as long as it took the boyfriend.
They both stepped in toward Mica, the boyfriend making an unintelligible sound of surprise and worry, and Ilmenite's a hissing frustration, shocked more than anything else.
"What the hell -- " But the beefy boyfriend was going to get there first, trying to swing for Mica without hurting his potentially-injured and somewhat-slack girlfriend.

Wielding a human weapon wasn’t the easiest. Mica’s arms and shoulders were sore and she strongly suspected that she had pulled something. However, she was nothing if not an opportunist. Lifting the deadweight in her arms as best she could – the girl’s feet still dragged the ground – Mica shoved her in the boyfriend’s direction. If he didn’t catch her, she’d hit the ground. Hopefully that would give her current partner time to act.
“ A little help here?” She called.
If the beefy guy could be knocked out, they’d each have a person to retrieve energy from. And if he couldn’t be knocked out, well, Ilmenite’s “weapon” was duct tape.

He almost dropped the girl, grunting in surprise, turning her quickly to check her face and her arms and make sure she was still alive. It left him very susceptible to an unexpected attack from behind.
Except the unexpected attack didn't come. Instead Ilmenite had taken two steps back to distance himself from the situation, and was frowning tightly at her. He usually looked younger than his almost-twenty-two years. Right now, he actually looked -- well, about ******** you." It was thoughtful, considering, his attention dropping to the dissolving monster. After a moment, he took another step back. "Going to be stupid about things, how about you deal with the consequences yourself?"

Mica’s eyebrow arched up as she replied acidly,“ I cleaned up the monster that you wanted to fight, so take your own advice.”
Waste of time, helping this ingrate. Feeling as though she’d done her good deed for the week, Mica turned and began walking to the nearest warehouse, watching the two males out the corner of her eye until it was safe for her to turn her back and jump to the relative safety of the roof.

"Oh, yeah, thanks a lot." It was sarcastic, his voice raised after the retreating lieutenant -- and a moment later, Ilmenite realized exactly what she'd left him with. The girl, still unconscious, probably injured, and the boyfriend's shock just starting to turn toward anger. Not a good combination.
A truly good person would have stuck around and offered help, taken the pair to the hospital or called for help or who knew what. Ilmenite wasn't that good, apparently. He took one look at the boyfriend, done lowering his girlfriend, flicked a brief look to the melted mess that was once a monster, Ilmenite opted to run like hell instead.
