Well he was shocked at the question but not surprised. Theater was mainly among the well to do, and the king enjoyed his shows. Thats why he worked so hard to keep his costumes in tip top shape. Always needing new colors and fresh skins to keep him happy. Lucky the guy though was pretty nice- but Raimi liked to be spot on with his job.
"A theater is when a group of animals get together and pretend to be something they are not." He said it as simple as he knew how. Theater shows and casting and all that other stuff would just confuse her. "It's really fun. I enjoy what gets put on from time to time."

Animals being what they aren't? This somewhat sounded familiar to Mapenzi now as she sat there, listening to Raimi explain about the theater. "So this pride... likes to play pretend?" This was how she translated it, which was pretty much what theaters do anyhow. At least! She was understanding a new concept pretty quickly. "What do they like to pretend~?" There was a small chime of interest in her voice, lightening up and sitting straight. Her ears perked up.
"I want to know more. Are there... other lions there too? Do they have rainbow colors like me?" Little did she know that the clan was strict about having some kind of purple on ones being, but that wasn't too much of a proble. The upper part of her legs had purple.

"Well the higher ranks are all purple. And if you wanted a higher rank you'd have to be purple. Other then that they are open to any colored lions being the lower ranks...or the players. Frankly the more colorful you are the more interesting you'd be as an entertainer. Though I have no colors of my own- so I make them thats why I make costumes." He smiled. "It's really a very open very friendly pride- though I do admit the royal lions do tend to avoid the lower class...but then again thats what royalty does best." He laughed openly.

Mapenzis' tail flicked slightly. The sound of this pride interested her greatly now. She had even totally forgotten that she was speaking to Raimi, whom was a male lion. She was AFRAID of male lions! Yet here she was, talking calming with him and showing great excitement. "Purple? You have purple though... your eyes are very pretty...~" She chirupped slightly, smiling a little. She actually looked into Raimi's eyes; at the color. they were like shiny new amethysts. "Would you really... consider taking me to the tribe? You make it sound very pretty. I like the sound of it... b-but I'm... also afraid."

"Well you only need to be purple if you want to be upper class. But it's boring paperwork mombo jumbo. I assume they are busy with it all day because I never see them aside from when they are shopping or watching plays. Trust me being non-royal is a lot more fun." He blinked his purple eye and noticed her staring at him. "Thank you so much. Your eyes are pretty too miss." He grinned at her and sprawled out getting more comfortable on the ground. "Of course I will take you to them. Our pride loves new members." Well now that he thought of it; SHE herself was really pretty.

"Ah... w-well I don't think I'd be fit to do any paperwork of any sort. But... I'll think about it today. you just make it sound like a very nice place for anyone to be." Mapenzi slid into laying down a bit aways from Raimi. Her eyes glanced away though when he looked into hers. She was shy, and not use to others looking her over unless it was out of a bit of malice. Like how she could remember it, or what she could remember of it.
"Raimi, I hear prides have all kinds of jobs. What are they like? I don't know if... I'd be good at anything." Black ears tilted down, ashamed that she couldn't even hunt or catch a bird! How would she be good for anything?

"Well our pride is different from most prides. While we do have our hunters; the rest of our members are really- creative. After all our whole pride is based on pretending. So if your good at painting with mud you could work on sets. Or if you like colorful beads...you could be an artisan. As I said I make costumes. We even have an apprenticeship for beginners. So don't worry about being good right now. Just think about something that makes YOU happy on the inside." He reached over to the sling that was over his back and pulled out one of his smaller costumes. It was a neck piece for a princess. He handed it to the pretty young lady.
"I think you should have this. It would look much better on you then some of the royalty in my pride..." He then lowered his voice. "But I didn't tell you that." He snickered closing the back of beautiful furs again.

As Raimi explained how everything was different in this tribe as compared to most, her mind began to wander off again as she tried to think. What would she be good at? Though she was looking at Raimi 'pretending' to listen as he went on about it, her brain was off processing. She liked... colors. Yes. She loved colors and rainbows, just like the ones on her arms. What else was there? Hmm... she didn't like mud, but she did like to paint with certain juices and liquids. Her own markings beneath her eyes reminded her of tribal paint. Maybe she could paint?
"A-Ah...?" Mapenzi snapped back to and shook her head slightly at the necklace now in front of her at her paws. She blinked and curiously looked it over. Was this... jewelry? She had never really seen jewelry before. On another lioness or 2, yes, but never on herself. Peering at it she would glance up at Raimi and then back to the piece. "Is this... for me?" She still couldn't believe that he would be willing to give her something so pretty. Well, at least, she thought so anyway.
"Th-Thank you Raimi sir. I've never... had jewelry before. Only seen some wear it about!" Her paw pulled it over closer. How was she suppose to wear it? He said necklace... around her neck? She fumbled a bit before getting it on over her head.

He nodded at her, "Yes thats yours you may do what you want with it." He was glad she figured out how to wear it. He would feel ever so aquward feeling another female's neck. At least not without wiggling out from all his cheetah commitments. His lips then curled into a smile. "It makes you look like a princess!" Every girl should be treated like a princess even if they weren't of royal blood. And she also seamed like she needed some reassurance she was pretty and worthwhile. Maybe the necklace would focus her? One could only hope anyway. Raimi could only help the poor girl so much.

Mapenzi seemed to crack a bit of a shy smile at Raimi, looking over to him better without glancing away. Maybe all she really needed to warm up to some male lion was a gift and a bit of kindness. In her mind, she thought ALL lions had some sort of evil spike in them. that they did evil things to lionesses, but Raimi seemed very much different. Her tail flicked to the side happily as she let out a rather loud... rumble of a purr from her throat. She actually felt... happy! She didn't even know she could purr!
"Prrrrrrrn...~ O-Oh! S-Sorry." She apologized and the purr cut short, thinking the noise would bother Raimi as he lay there. They were both lounging and facing eachother near the tree where she had lost her lunch earlier. "S-So, you made this necklace? Others make jewelry in the pride too? O-Oh! Do others paint??" she rambled on a bit with questions, curiousity at peak.

He nodded at her smile growing wider from each sides. "It's nice to see you happy." He thought back to how she was when they first met. How lonely and depressed she was; and how much she had changed with in the short time they had been together.
"Well I mainly make costumes- but I do know how to make pretty jewelry to go with it." Most of his jewelry wasn't for sale in his shop or used for shows. He liked to give them to his kids to play with- and something for his lady friend who he had gotten into the mess with the cubs in the first place. 'Oh Raimi you and women- you've got to stop your such a heartbreaker.'
"My kids love to paint. You know how hard it is to get paint out of white and pastel fur?" He snorted out with laugher. "One day I might just leave them those colors."

"Oh, your cubs like to paint too?" After he had mentioned about getting paint out of white or pastel fur as hard, her ears folded back again. Would she really want to go through all that hassle? Hmm... she had to think on this a little more if she did decide to go with Raimi to join the pride he was from. Still, the thought of painting with colorful juices made from berries made her smile a little more.
"I... I-I don't know much, but I like to paint a little bit too. Especially on trees or rocks near places I've been, so I can remember I've been there. My memory hasn't been... all that great as of late."

"They've like to paint since the day they have come out of there mother. I'm thinking they might go into building sets when they get older." He shrugged. "It's up to them I'm an easy-going father. Whatever makes them happy makes me happy. I'd be proud of them no matter what they did." He puffed up his chest when talking about his cubs. What darling little gifts from the gods. He really wanted more- but with who was the question. Za and he really weren't a pair. They were just friends at the right time and the right place. And they promised to stay together until the cubs were old enough to not need them together.
"The fairy folk might like you then. They are part of our pride...but they kind of do there own thing. Paint on trees, sing freely. You might like them best." He really liked his pride. It was full of so many different lions and species.

Mapenzi, on the other hand, wasn't sure if she'd get along with such thins as cubs. She really had no experience with younger lions, hybrids, babies of any sort. Nor she could remember if she ever did. Not that it mattered to her, she wasn't looking foward to cubs with just anyone or the like. Nor did cubs ever come to mind for her. Maybe someday soon, but not now.
"Oh... well they must be very good then~ You must be very proud~" Of course she knew nothing of his situation with his 'family' but she just assumed so that things were fine and dandy. She stood up to stretch out her legs and ruffle her hair, the necklace dangling from her neck. "...I think I was suppose to be doing something... but I've forgotten." She sighed. Yet again, she forgot about current duty; to eat. But as long as she had nice company, it wasn't too much of a deal that she had forgotten.
"Your pride is from the mountains...? And Fairy folk??"

"You were hungry." He chimed in and reminded her about the bird which he had caused her to loose. "And I was going to make it up to you by catching you something to eat." He added as he only felt it was right that he caught her something to live off of for awhile. Birds were a snack. Not anything to suffice one's survival. "Thats if you'll let me help you." He was still sprawled out on the ground. He wondered if once he stood up to his full size she would become nervous once again.
