Feedback: Again, thank you guys so much for all of the work you put into this event. I seriously didn’t want to peel myself away from the computer for one second because it was all so fun! There were bumps along the way when it came to rule clarity/comprehension/interpretation, but I was impressed with how the problems were dealt with and I appreciated that there was always someone willing to help us sort out the issues that cropped up.

One small thing that would have been a problem for me if I was not unemployed at the time was that many of the speed-based games took place at about 3am EST and lasted well beyond 6am EST (like the Minesweeper game I participated in where I had to stay online until my character died so I didn’t miss a round). I understand a lot of it was a time zone thing, but maybe in the future there could be games that occur over a wider range of times so that people in different time zones have more of a chance to participate?

But yeah um, that’s about all I can think of? I agree with Nio that there ended up being a lot of down time for people signing up for events and think her suggestion would solve that problem, for sure. It would also allow people to sort of wrap things up a little better in their RPs because sometimes it felt like we were whipping out our phones mid-sentence and jumping away.

I've been reading part 1 since the boat trip and its been a magnificent ride. Honestly, well done, its a wonderful plot that i'm still mulling over.

I've never seen a wide scale event like this, seeing as how i found this place right at the end of the christmas event and I was a little surprised at the amount of people taking part, totally overwhelming for me at first, but i got used to it like many others did.

The tasks were indeed very good, at times it was hard to figure out but nothing the Q & A section couldn't fix. However I did have difficulty following all the areas events. its actually pretty sad that the Zombies versus squads task didn't happen, it would have been the crowning jewel of the event.

All in all, just some minor hiccups. Way to go GM's,

I enjoyed the event for everything that it had to offer. The prize pool was generous and the meta was fun from my perspective. I enjoyed the feeling of tension that it had and the fact that no one had any idea of what was going on - the air of mystery was wonderful. : )

Would I encourage more events like this? Certainly! If the staff have the time and energy for it. It was quite a lot of fun and it was interesting to see what characters did in order to survive. : >

TL;DR:
Suspense = Awesome.
Bloodbath = Awesome.
Staff = Awesome.

Feedback: Good Things: I thought the event was really well thought out and put together, and I LOVED the people I roleplayed with -- in fact, all of us (when we get students) are going to try to rp together because we all seemed to like each other's roleplay style. XD

I loved the events and the way the Horsemen and Reapers came off -- I loved their attitudes and I loved the way that they interacted with our characters.

Bad Things: The only bad thing I really didn't like was that it was really, really dark. I know this is Halloween, and it's supposed to be dark, but when you have people against each other in a bloody fistfight that seems like you'd only see it on the news (people getting shot to death, knifed to death, etc etc), it's... really weird/dark/disturbing, and seems kind of ... yeah. :/ Maybe something a little lighter next time?

That's it! I'll be joining the next one, if I can. heart

Feedback: I, personally, loved the event. Even though I didn't win anything. I think it was awesome that there was so many prizes. The only thing I found difficult was it was either so busy or nothing was going on. I think it was the time zone difference but that can't be helped. Otherwise I hated leaving my computer because I enjoyed everything; the games, pets, characters, stories, and even just the conversations. The meta made me love TiH even more.

Feedback: Overall the event was very creative, fun, and interactive, keeping things interesting and involved! I especially liked that there were chances at individual events that specific pertained to individual characters, as well as options for interaction with fears and things not typically in the regular academy setting. It allowed for a lot of character development and growth!

For the most part I think the first part of the event was well paced, except for when, especially on the island, events would progress in a time frame shorter than 24 hours. This I felt was frustrating for those with full class days, work hours, or different time zones (sleeeeeeep noes). Sometimes I'd come back from classes or lab and a whole event had taken place without giving me time to interact or I'd have a friend who has different hours than me miss a whole IC event because she was...asleep. I understand the need to keep things progressing and I love how efficient that is. However, I think every respond-able event such provide at least 24 hours to reply so that everyone has a chance. But otherwise good pace work!

For part two, the battle system was an interesting idea, but I agree that gang fights seemed to be a problem (this was more from observation as I was too busy IRL to rp this out). It seemed there were too many benefits to ganging up on someone, so maybe next time work into the system so their are consequences and benefits both to make things more strategic and in-depth. Also, there were a couple of times where timing was an issue, such as you'd get attacked while you were asleep or something and then event would progress, things that while I'm not sure how to work out, might need to be address.

Lastly, I would love a thread that maybe OCCly summarized what was going on as things progressed. For those of us who work or have classes, this would help us keep up with the event. I know I dropped out because I was overwhelmed in RL and while I made the choice to stop on my own, having a summary thread would have made the task of jumping back in or keeping up less daunting. Obviously we all have to keep up with what is happening with our own character on our own, but having a summary of what overall is happening across the Island would be nice. Again, this isn't completely necessary, but it would really help if you were concerned about why some people struggled.

Overall, I think the even went really well. It introduced a lot of new ideas in interesting ways and was interactive and challenging! Thank you for all the work you put into it! I'm already looking forward to the next event! heart

Feedback: I wanna say before I continue with any of my critique that I HAD FUN. And really all that matters is that I had fun I mean.. TiH is such a casual thing for me it is meant to be a break from what I do for a living. =]

But my primary concerns with the Meta were as follows-

The boat ride seemed a little pointless. I mean too pointless to count for a large chunk of growth points. I feel that once I actually got into it ICly we were already on the island. A lot of this is my fault but they had a very small impact in comparison to the island itself and got overshadows significantly. I mean I almost forgot there even was a boat ride! I know that this got brought up when people found they were all off schedule from one another but I almost feel like the boat ride itself might needed to have been like a separate entity from the rest of the meta. (again, this has a lot to do with my involvement level but tl;dr, Island > Boat Ride )

Secondly, it was very very obvious who was doing all of the work on the GM side and who wasn't and with such an impressively large staff. I know that staff have lives too and this coincides with my next note- the event was held at a very awkward time of the year. Finals for most people. Right now (as the event is ending) it seems like more people are starting to be more active and available. Im not suggesting polling for when to hold events because thats just ******** stupid. I only want to bring to light the fact that this played a role in some of the incompleteness of the event.

HOWEVER in light of my latter complaint, you guys made this event so engaging and interesting that it was really difficult to get pulled away from the computer. I usually can weigh the importance of IRL over internet but DAMN. I mean I was at work like GAIAGAIAGAIATIHTIHTIH every day,

So you know, a lot of this stuff couldn't have been prevented. And what the ******** ever if people can't handle tih then they can't ******** handle tih so why complain over it yanno? Keep up the good work you guys and like Bili said DON'T kill yourselves trying to outdo this because I am certain there will be plenty of satisfaction to be had =]

Feedback: I love you guys and I loved this event. I suck at constructive criticism on a good day, but hopefully you might be able to pull something useful out of my ramblings. If not, just think of this as a big sloppy love letter.

BOOOOOAT! Aw yeaaaahhh! When I first started RPing on the boat, I was kind of like 'what's this time skip thing, oh my' but the daily synopsis posts and daily activities kept me from wibbling around. It felt like a movie montage of a sea voyage rather than a lengthy, detailed journey, and it was a lot of fun.

AMITYVILLE ON THE ISLAND! I have nothing to say about this part. I can't even begin to mention how awesome it was because then I'll just have to keep typing AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME until my fingers are little bloody nubs. AAAAAA

HUNTERS ON THE ISLAND! I've been trying to put my feelings about the Hunter section of the event into more coherent and helpful words, but I'm finding I can't. All of my problems with it were completely personal (not a fan of PvP, have a stupid need for closure even when I create a character I don't like) and I really did enjoy watching it from afar, so I think I'm just going to let others give you feedback because from what I've seen they are infinitely more capable of it than I am.

I can't wait to see what the future holds for relations between Deus Ex and Amityville and I love that you guys were able to introduce all of this in a meta. If I could shove confetti and baby animals through the internet, I would. I am amazed me every time TiH rolls out something like this and right about now everyone involved deserves an epic break filled with soothing beverages and servants. Thank you owners, artists, and excellent (relatively) new staffers. Sorry, my brevity and helpful modes are broken today.

Feedback: I actually don't really have any complaints about the event. I had a blast the entire time and thought it was really well thought out and exciting. It had me guessing all the time and looking forward to each and every day of it! Truly enjoyed it the whole thing, thanks guys! :'D

I think the only thing I was really confused about was all the little items you get in your minipet inventory. I wasn't quite sure what to do with them and so didn't use them. Not sure if I had missed any important info about them, but in general they confused me.

Aaand I didn't participate in part 2, nor was I able to read much of it due to RL issues and limited time, so I can't really give any critique on that. |D;;

Feedback: Firstly, you guys did an amazing job. The event was so huge and so busy, I know you guys must have had a hard time keeping up, but for the most part everything went smoothly and you guys were on top of things.

I will echo what someone else said about part 1 where the map pieces kind of fell by the wayside... Even one of the catchup 'events' for that to distribute more map pieces never had them actually handed out. I know you guys realised you were overworked, and it all worked out in the end for Part 1 anyway. The map pieces weren't a huge deal, so yeah. Didn't make Part 1 any less enjoyable.

Sometimes the boat ride section was a bit slow. I feel things picked up greatly once the students reached the island. Staff did a great job of keeping up with the amount of students, giving everyone a chance to fight the hooded 'reapers', etc. The ability for students to create their own threads really helped to keep things moving when the GMs were asleep or planning the next big thing, so that was a big plus.

Some of the puzzles seemed like you had to have insider knowledge already to solve them - or OOC knowledge of what people in other sections of the island had been doing. So maybe that's something to consider for next time. Overall, I was impressed with the amount of puzzles and how they encouraged team interaction.

Part Two, man, so awesome. I actually liked that it was so dark/violent, but then I am a fan of Battle Royale and Hunger Games and stuff, and have no problem RPing that out. I get that some people don't like that sort of thing and to each their own, but I thought you guys should know some people were all for it XD I like that it encouraged twists and mini factions and backstabbing... I thought it made for some really awesome RP that wasn't your typical meta.

GMs did an amazing job at keeping up with even more people than part one! And at making all their mini games. Man, after trying my hand at that, I have such huge respect for the staff who were doing it all through the meta. It's kinda nerve-wracking, not to mention eating up so much of your time.

I think part 2 ran a bit more smoothly, if only because you guys had worked out what ran easiest/smoothest during part one. It kind of helped against the much larger numbers that part 2 had. That being said, with all the problems with people complaining about not reading rules and missing this and that, maybe next time a limit on signups may be needed. Make it a bit easier on you poor, awesome staff <3

Overall, loved the hell out of both parts of the meta. Hugely grateful to staff for running it, artists for the prizes, and to everyone who RPed with me heart

Feedback: Overall, I really loved the event and I didn't even win anything. xD The story was interesting and unique. It was obvious that a lot of time and energy was put into the event. I also like how even though the RP was intense and not everyone won their character, the option is still there for the character to awaken later. Personally, I loved how dark the story was and how the PVP was done. It felt appropriate and it was a wonderful opportunity to RP in a situation like that. I just loved the event in it's entirety.

My only real criticism was mentioned above as well. I live in EST and it seemed that most of the GM activity and speed based events happened later in the night, around 2 or 3 in the morning which made it difficult for me. I completely understand that PST folks have lives and can't be on 24/7, but I would have liked to see a wider range of times. However, that being said, the GMs and the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Which more than made up for the time zone differences. Any other problems I had with the event where my own fault. I shouldn't have been so shy, especially in the main thread. I also shouldn't have made a character that didn't play so well with others. Note to self on that one next time. xD;;;

My own short comings aside, I really loved the event and I can't express how much fun I had RPing in Part Two. <3

Feedback: I didn't take part in Part I, but I enjoyed reading the shenanigans that went on. For Part II, I thought it was really fun. I did find the timing of some of the quickfire stuff to be a bit difficult if I wasn't an insomniac on at odd hours, but the events themselves were creative and fun. Sometimes I was a little unclear on stuff we were allowed to do (or not) in character, but whenever a teammate asked a mod, you guys were super fast about getting back to us and clarifying things, so what might have been a trouble spot always got sorted out in time. (Like whether we could take med kits from the dead, little things like that.)

I had a great time in the event and I found myself getting attached to my character despite her vague beginnings. I especially liked that we all got to write a solo with our character's history, I found that part especially fun. Part II was especially good because so many people could participate. I felt very welcome and it was nice to see some newbies really getting into stuff. :3 So, thank you! I think you guys did a great job with what amounts to a huuuuge task and I want you to know that I appreciated the work you put into it. heart

Edit: I just wanted to add in that I was really touched by your kind words when you posted the Newbie Shortlist (since it might get lost in the jumble of the main thread if I posted there. xD) It made me feel even more welcome here and that means a lot to me!

Feedback: I loved the event even though I didn't get to play as much as I would've liked. Also I'd like to echo the sentiment that the option to still awaken a character even after the event is over is very awesome of you guys!

I did find some of the rules to be a bit unclear or there was a little bit of confusion if certain rules still applied early on. However, the mods cleared up the confusion quickly and fixed any potential problems. Something I think that might help is that if there's an event where an NPC shows up that may make players question if the rules have changed slightly; placing the rules in the post if they have changed.

Also, while it was hilarious as could be maybe consider taking an OP weapon, and tune it down some how when it reaches a players characters hands? Even if you have to use 'they're not as experienced with the weapon' to tune it down to keep from one shotting everyone while people aren't online.

Even with those little hiccups I loved the event, I enjoyed it as much as the Christmas event. The fact this event had a chance for those without characters to gain a character of their own, and even a chance at a hunter was most awesome! I can't wait to see what happens between the Hunters and Halloween town residents! You guys did a great job and I can't wait to see what you all do next! =3

Feedback: First of all, thank you thank you THANK YOU, staffers! This event was VERY impressive and I cannot tell you how much I truly loved it. I loved getting to explore character relationships, mentalities, and just how much Tsetsiliya could really take. It definitely let me play outside of my norm, so thank you very much! I didn't participate in Part Two so most of my critiques will really pertain to Part One (which aren't many, since it was so awesome oh my god I still can't get over it).

On a more critical note, I agree with Ary and would have loved to see more OOC summaries/catch-up for those of us who have jobs, school, way different time zones, and all that, just so we can all stay on the same page and hop right into the action without doing mountains of back reading. An update on the news post about important things (also echoing others here) is something I'd like to see more of in future events as well.

As a suggestion, I would just say keep doing what you're doing! I really, really enjoy that all the events so far have been vastly different from each other in both content and tone. I would love to see what kind of mood the future events will set as well!

The giveaways were good, often, and VERY generous. I only wish I could have caught the games more often, but that's my fault really. XD But the amount of giveaways and planning were very obvious in this event, and all of us are super appreciative of it. Keep up the stellar work, you guys! <3

Feedback: First off, overall everything was amazingly awesome~!! Part 1 was fun, boat ride, island shenanigans, INSANITY FOG OMG. The whole thing really really ended up letting me develop Aksaja's character a lot more, which was AWESOME. I will agree, though, that some of the boats seemed to be less active than others. Which is probably going to happen no matter what, and maybe there were things that couldn't be controlled XD But perhaps for future events, if there are 2 (or more) staffers per group, try to spread out the more active staffers?

Part 2 - Also really fun and amazing. Great storyline, suspense, death, all of it~ I was actually quite upset when A5 died the first time, but hey ... it's a story, get over it. XD;; Then he came back and yaaaaayyy. So I got two death posts lololol. The ooonnly thing I would really say so far as criticism would be to agree with Seph. I'd like a little bit more clarification on exactly what we were being judged on (at some point - even after the whole thing was over, so everyone was equal in knowledge during the event itself). There was mention of points somewhere (I think) and general overall activity and some other things, but it wasn't ever really clear... And, related to that, if part of it did have to do with overall activity, that perhaps could be less fair for those who had finals/work/etc and couldn't post a lot, or very fast. Just for future thought!

Sorry for edit, but I wanted to add to this after all the final stuff was over. The Horsemen - From the announcement posted, I got the impression that one was going to staff, and the other three would go to people who had not won anything in the entire event, drawn from a raffle of qualified contestants that were picked by judges. Usually raffle lists are publicized ... why wasn't this one? Also, I may have missed it but if you guys meant prizes picked by judges (freebies), not including raffles or auctions, I feel like that should have been made more clear. I got the impression the Horsemen raffle would be for those who hadn't won anything, in any manner. A nice extra chance for a prize for those who were skilled at roleplay. @w@; I have nothing at all against the winners, but more ... the way this was handled as a whole, with the not-clear information and no public list for the raffle...
