CLAIRExREDFIELDx KI773RSHADOW CLAIRExREDFIELDx KI773RSHADOW CLAIRExREDFIELDx I don't like the movies. The first was watchable and when it came out I liked it. I haven't watched it in ages so I don't know if my opinion changed. I'm a nit picker so it was hard to watch Afterlife etc. So much wrong.... I ranted for months. In the end, it's not canon so I gave up til the next one come out and I unavoidably b***h. I know people who saw Afterlife with no RE knowledge that said it sucks. So.... what's that say? Fans : no likey Non-fans: no likey The majority, anyway. I for one am HAPPY that Leon wasn't in it. I really hope there are no more game character AT ALL. I know there will be.l... but I know it will be bad. I agree. The SH movie was good. Though I was kinda sad there was a Rose instead of Harry. I just REALLY liked the concept of a father searching for his child. Harry is awesome. (SH 1 Harry, not Shattered Memories LOL) What do you have against Leon? Nothing. I really like Leon. That's why I don't want the movies to butcher him. razz I know one they can still keep his look and personality.Hire Jensen Ackles.He plays Dean in the show Supernatural.He is one huge badass. That's true. I wouldn't mind if they made him cool. But, I have a feeling they wouldn't. I like Larter and Miller but the script made Chris a derp and Claire wasn't too much better. Well Miller can only do so much with a lame script...putting Chris is those baggy fatigues and a jail cell like that. I think that if Paul Anderson didn't always look to make his wife the center of the universe in these films and actually spent more time developing the real RE characters, he'd be able to pull it off. He kind got Wesker and Jill okay, but it was only 50% right rather than his usual 10% - 25%. I never like Claire in either movie because she is nothing like Claire!! She was basically a female version of Chris, almost butch and always looking pissed off. I bet he'd mess up Leon real bad.

MGS Meryl Well Miller can only do so much with a lame script...putting Chris is those baggy fatigues and a jail cell like that. I think that if Paul Anderson didn't always look to make his wife the center of the universe in these films and actually spent more time developing the real RE characters, he'd be able to pull it off. He kind got Wesker and Jill okay, but it was only 50% right rather than his usual 10% - 25%. I never like Claire in either movie because she is nothing like Claire!! She was basically a female version of Chris, almost butch and always looking pissed off. I bet he'd mess up Leon real bad. I think it'd be pretty sad if Leon were in the movie. For one in the second Resident Evil movie there was a newspaper clipping that they briefly show about Jill's partner Leon getting killed. NewspaperI couldn't find a better picture, but I'm pretty sure you can read parts of it better in the movie. Anyway, the newspaper talked about Jill's partner Leon getting killed in the Arklay mountains, etc, meaning they'd have to explain something for Leon not actually being dead. Also, Jill and Chris have no relation to each other in the movie, meaning if Leon were there then he'd most likely steal the part where Chris and Sheva have to remove the device off of Jill's chest. I guess it could be Chris and Claire removing it, but since Jill and Leon were partners I'm sure they'd make it Leon and Claire to make it more 'personal'. I dunno, the thought of them doing that really annoys me.

I agree with you on ALL points. heart Even WITH amnesia, you'd think she'd be like "Holy sh!t, I have a brother!" xd And in the early interviews, ol' W.S. kept saying how much the fans would be stoked that Claire would be in her classic outfit. Any girl cosplaying Jill at any convention has a closer outfit than whatever Ali Larter had on!

MGS Meryl I saw the newspaper the first time I saw the movie on DVD. But that story was never meant to be read by audiences I think, so if he wanted Leon in the movies, he could, specially with Jill coming back in the next one. O: Well Screen Gems also released a promotional newspaper for fans to read in anticipation for Apocalypse's release. I have a PDF file of the newspaper, and it reads: "During yesterday's press conference, Captain Henderson noted that Officer Valentine had been suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder due to the recent death of her partner, Leon Kennedy. 'Jill Valentine is one of our most gifted and intelligent police officers, but she just needs a good rest right now,' said Captain Henderson. 'She made wild accusations of monsters living in the Arklay Mountains. I think this leave of absence will give her time to clear her head,' Captain Henderson continued."

I just watched Afterlife yesterday and I can't say my opinion of the film series has changed. The first movie was still ok but the rest have been just crap. I just couldn't help thinking about Matrix movies when I watched Afterlife. Gotta admit the fight between Wesker & Claire/Chris was like a straight copy of RE5.. rolleyes
I think mostly what disturbs me in the movies is how they are unfaithfull to the game series, not in details about characters or events but in the mood. Games were survival horror where as the movies are flashy fights with backflips and swords. And that done badly gonk

Hwarang Gin I just watched Afterlife yesterday and I can't say my opinion of the film series has changed. The first movie was still ok but the rest have been just crap. I just couldn't help thinking about Matrix movies when I watched Afterlife. Gotta admit the fight between Wesker & Claire/Chris was like a straight copy of RE5.. rolleyes I think mostly what disturbs me in the movies is how they are unfaithfull to the game series, not in details about characters or events but in the mood. And that done badly gonk I love how in the movies all the Umbrella soldiers literally are just stiff and have the worst reaction time. Like I feel like they stand around half the time wanting to be killed.

I read the PDF too, but since it's not in the movie, the rules of canon do not apply for it. A movie can change from the first bits of promotional art as an example. Leon could still appear.
