She looked up when he spoke, then down at the bit of teal ribbon that was coming free of her tail. "Probably," she mused lightly, bright eyes flicking back up to those battle marked features as a smile bloomed along pale lips. An adorable mix of allure and nerves, even as the latter was beginning to fade. He really was a handsome one, and the scars that cut along that pale body only seemed to add to it, rather then subtract. She couldn't really picture him without the scars. For a hero, they were fitting.
Her tail flicked upwards to brush along his chest and the fronts of his legs, the loose ends of the ribbon fluttering along behind. "You can tie bows? That's impressive." It wasn't a skill many soq she'd encountered could boast of. She could do it, but it was a chore requiring much straining when she tried to tie the one in her tail. The one at the back of her head was impossible for her to get at, and she had always had to rely on the kindness of others to fix it should it ever slip.

"Sure I can tie bows," he said with an easy gallantry that wasn't quite honest. The truth was that he had never tied a bow in his life. He had learned a few simple knots as a foal but those were more practical than pretty. He thought he knew how to tie a bow. It didn't seem that hard and plenty of soquili wore them. Mostly, he wanted to impress the lady. If she wanted a bow tying stallion then he would do his best to be one. Trying to mask how focused he was, he gripped the end of the ribbon between his teeth and began his attempt.
It wasn't as easy as he had hoped. With his head angled down low his long bangs kept flipping in front of his eyes. Every time he had to flick them out of his face he lost track of what he was doing and once almost dropped the ribbon entirely. He kept brushing his face into her soft tail while he was at work. While normally he might have enjoyed that, it served as another distraction. When he finally pulled away to survey his work, he looked in dismay at the lopsided horror he had created.
"Er.... It's been a little while since I've tied a bow." He chuckled sheepishly. "I... hope you can fix that." He had started out so confident, but it really looked not much like a bow at all. He could fight off dangerous soquili and save the mares but couldn't tie a bow. The irony of that thought did not escape him.

Privet stood very still as the stallion made his attempt at tying, but she couldn't help the half unconscious jumps that plagued her when ever his face pressed against the full fall of her tail. Had he been looking at her face he'd have certainly caught a glimpse of reddening cheeks beneath the wash of snowy fur.
It was a struggle to keep from fidgeting, and that alone was an embarrassing realization. The hero was making her quite nervous. If only she could read thoughts, perhaps the knowledge that he was nervous himself could have eased her worried a bit, but alas, she could not.
When he had finished she turned to inspect his handwork, merely stared at the looping ribbon tied haphazardly at the end of her tail. It was not a bow, not even close, but he had tried, and that alone earned him a smile. "No worries." It was just a ribbon, and surely it wasn't the only thing about her person that came off a little on the ruffled side. Turning, she moved so her ears could brush along the stallion's chin, pausing there so she could straighten enough to offer him a gentle bump. "I appreciate the effort."
