A Really Bad Idea Not neccessarily a word but a spelling. *****, as Americans spell it, means a foot fetishist if we look at where the word came from. Why do you hate the foot lovers? Why? Now, less likely to upset people as a topic words/phrases: Lol, rofl, gtg, brb...Basically, internet acronyms used in spoken conversation. Seriously, why say lol instead of laughing? You have vocal chords, laugh - laugh I demand! At least for lol it's kind of hard to get around various conceptions of laughing. Writing out things like *giggles* *snort* hahah etc can get pretty asinine if repeated on end. lol is just part of the internet lexicon at this point as a simple way of saying "hah, that was funny." I mean, really, lol by itself is grammatically incorrect. It should be I am laughing out loud, but alas.

I don't get how blame the victim is now somehow this defence that gives feminists precedence in discussion of rape. It doesn't in truth, but it is employed so. Even when blame the victim has no baring on the point other than it was evoked in a conversation on it. The thing is, I can appreciate how the victim suffering name calling is a bad thing and horrible but it does happen in, as you pointed out, all cross-examinations. The fact feminists sieze upon it for rape alone purveys an ignorance at best, promotion of it for other crimes at worst. But I could rant for a long time on the failings of any ideological organisation. Because someone claiming to act for it can be a terrible person and they will be a minority blown up to obscure sensible majorities. The point there would only be: Feminism has right to complain about it and most feminists are ok. People just need to be aware of the wider issue rather than tunnel-visioning and a minority ruins a majority, respectively. Edit: In retrospect, why did I say pretty much? I pointed out a disagreement i hold there.

Now my actual belief is that rape victims should report when they feel ready to report. They should not be forced to report, but consider advice from the ones who love them and after they heal, should logically assess the situation on their own terms.
