Sciophobia trembled so hard he was sure he would pass out at any moment.
A whimper left his mouth and the tears started to roll.... so this was it? The end? He had been expecting it, had been running from it for so long that he supposed it should have been a relief that it had finally found him. But he wasn't! It was too early.

 The tears wouldn't stop.

TEARS? He was actually crying? What a new insult to their kind.... "Grow a pair man! Hold yourself with dignity... even when you time to die comes you must hold your head up, accept it, embrace it!" He growled, an angry hiss that nearly toppled his anger over the line of no return.
To vent he struck the stallion, kicking him in the side as hard as he could sending the pathetic excuse of a kalona rolling away from him. He hoped that he would break a wing, at least then he would be forced to endure pain!

Oberon's tail swished from side to side as he considered what to do next, the honour for their race made him want to extinguish this pathetic creature, but then his thoughts drifted to Arella. He didn't want to be tainted in MORE blood, at least not of such an unworthy creature... it was bad enough that he had killed her entire family, replaced them with himself after he had been unable to swich the delicate little basket she had been hidden within.

Sighing he glared at Sciophobia. "Fight me....!"

Pain shot through Sciophobia as he was kicked away, tossed like the rubbish he felt he was. He was sure he heard and felt a snap.... and he screamed. The noise ear piercing. The result was he sobbed harder, the tears leaving rivers flowing down his cheeks, a glistening line that stood out againts his black pelt. His eyes turned red.
The beast before him gave him a request, or perhaps an order, and all Scio could do was shake his head... ALOT!

"No....no...." He shook it more, surely this wasn't happening? It was his worst EVER nightmare made real. "...can't fight.... don't want to die.... please....please.....PLEASE!" Instead of getting quieter his voice got louder, it shaking from the effort. The last 'please' that left his lips was a shout, it ran in the space around them. He was begging... and Scio wasn't ashamed of it.

Anything to take ONE more breath, to live ONE more day... always one more.

Oberon stalked towards the creature, almost pleading with the Gods that the present him with a real challenge before he died of utter bordem.
"You CAN fight... you simply won't," He growled the noise getting shorter and more violent as his temper raged. Oberon had never been very good at keeping himself under control, and until Arella had first smilled up at him, trusting and wanting he had never attempted it. It was something he was indeed finding challenging.

He kicked the downed creature once more. "Get up! Act like a man!"

Sciophobia found himself shaking, his body unable to take any more of the punishment. He winced and cried as the next hit struck him. His body shaking even more, his tears simply refusing to stop. He knew the stallion towering over him wanted him to stop.... to be a man as he had said, but he couldn't! His eyes darted around him. His fear growing with each second he stayed still.
It was then he decided to try and plea ONE MORE TIME! Maybe this time it would work? "Please.... let me go. I won't ever cross your path again. I promise." His voice shook, and he wasn't even sure that his words could be understood. It sounded more like - pweasewetmego! - to his own ears, and he knew what he was trying to say.

 His bottom lip trembled.

Oberon's anger was bubbling past the point of no return. "Grow a pair!" He said as he brought a hoof up and kicked Sciophobia in the chest. "Can you expect anyone to respect you when you are a pathetic crying ball of crap?"
Oberon's patience wavered and he knew he was about to attack the cowardly beast. Despite the fact that the mare he loved was an Angeni he was sure that no child he sired would ever be as pathetic as this 'kalona' before him..... "I feel sorry for the father who sired you.... I bet he disowned you as a mistake long ago." Kalona's were known for wanting purity and strength to run through their line.... so how had this bubbling teary piece of rubbish come into being?

Eyes narrowing, "I swear if I ever create something so..... unworthy I will kill it at birth." No matter what Ariel said.... ok, maybe he couldn't do that to her... she would cry and he would feel bad.... but still.... it couldn't be allowed!

Unable to hold back any longer Oberon's body moved....

 Attack roll:
 1- Headbutts Sciophobia. (Minor)
2- Goes to strike Scio with both of his front hooves but he manages to wiggle backwards so Oberon's hooves slam into the ground instead. (Miss)
3- Strikes Scio in the chest with his hooves. (Moderate to Major)
4- Turns to leave the pathetic creature alone. (No attack)

Sciophobia didn't want respect... he wanted to be left alone.
He grunted as he was struck, Scio was used to be taunted, but when the shadows were everywhere you could never truely get away from such things. He eyes them again.... he needed to move.... too close... too close! His skin seemed to feel tighter.

His lip trembled, and he only just managed to move out of the way of the beasts attack before it struck him. The ground the larger kalona struck sent dirt flying onto his body, and he swore he could still feel the ground shaking from the force.... he gulped. That would hurt... and he was sure it was going to come again.

The problem.... once Scio had started backing up he couldn't stop, and so inche by precious inche he wiggled his way away from the beast that he now believed would end his life.

This time Scio didn't speak.... hoped he would be ignored.

Oberon grinned, "Better.... at least time you didn't waste energy on begging." He was growing bored with this situation.... part of him wanted to simply crush the other stallion like the insignificant insect that he obviously was... yet.... he was fun taunting him. Especially since everything else in his own life seemed to be crumbling around him.
Ariella... his mind always turned to her in a time like this... she wouldn't forgive him for taking another life, and to be honest he wasn't sure that she would forgive him for killing her entire herd... what would have happened if he had ended her? She had been only a basket at the time, never even got to meet the mother who had cursed him to wear a lantern. Ever since that day he had found his thoughts easier to control... but the rage still came upon him, especially when he wasn't around Ariella for a long time.

 Would she ever forgive him?

That was what had him attacking again. He would take his anger out here and now!

 Attack roll:
1- Slams his hooves into the ground and gets a few strikes in at Sciophobia. (Minor to Moderate)
2- Slams his hooves over and over on the ground but misses Scio each time. (Miss)

Sciophobia's heart thundered in his chest, and he was glad for his fleeing nature... it had probably saved him again and again from all the hooves slamming into the ground. His heart jumped into his mouth once or twice as a hoof came deadly close.
Still the other came at him... again and again in a relentless barage of attacks. Would it never end?

He gulped, but decided he needed to do something to break the monotomy of the situation... he didn't know where the courage to do it came from but with all his might he shouted a single word; "STOP!" Even after the word had finished being spoken he heard it bounce around the inside of his head.

What in the world had he just brought down upon himself?

Oberon was annoyed that the little rat kept dogding him, he was fast than he would have given him credit for had the situation been different. Pathetic and fast... sure, they were two things that went well, he supposed that was how the beast had managed to escape most of the predators of the world. Just keep running and never look back! He had run into him after all!
"Is that all you are good for?" He glare down at the black stallion that looked very little more than a shadow stain upon the earth, "Running and cowering?" He snapped his teeth together to intimidate the low creature more, "Do you not ever wish you could grow a back bone? Fight back? Do something other than bloody run for a change? Have you never felt the urge to become what your blood line claims you are? To be a TRUE KALONA!" He roared the last words, his pride at being known as that rippling through his blood. He was a mutant, he knew that, a mix of blood that would normally never come together... but he was a fierce creature, one that would not be messed with or looked down upon... except by Ariella, but he had brought that mess on himself!

Thoughts of his wanted 'mate' turned his mind black, fear at losing her forever bubbling up within him. What would he do if watching her turned out not to be enough? Could he ever allow her to be with another stallion? Even one that would be better for her? Make her happier than he ever could... the answer... NO! He couldn't even stand the thought of it.

Sciophobia looked up at the beast that was so close to crushing his bones with his strong legs and heavy paws struck the ground again and again. There was no where to run where he wouldn't be able to see those glowing red eyes. Smell the aroma of death and sickly iron blood.... no where he could run where the memories would not haunt him for an eternity. It would be better for him to die right here and right now than be at the mercy of this creatures memory forever more. A living shadow! He had known they were after him, had known that he was just lying to himself as many had claimed... here was the proof! She shook, so violently that he probably looked as if he was having a seizure or panic attack. Perhaps he was.
The beasts words reached his ears and he shook his head, "No.... no.... no...." The words wobbled out of his mouth, dragged from a place he had always tried to hide from the world, his heart. How could he harm someone when he was always afraid someone was out to harm him? How could he long to be something he had no chance of ever being... and wouldn't becoming such a horrid beast only make him more hunted than he already was? But this time by things far harder to avoid than shadows!? He couldn't do, couldn't allow that to become his destiny.

He shook his head, dragging quite words from his lips; "I can't do that.... I... I... can.... never.... ever... ever... never... be.... what you want me to be." Why he was speaking so much Scio didn't know, nor could he stop it now it had started. "I am not.... like... like.... you....." His stammer seemed to be getting worst with each word that parted from his lips. They sounded frail even to his own ears.

The growl that escaped him was enough to make the very grass around them both shake and quake in fear. No one ever denied him of what he wanted.... even Ariella had done as he had wished before HE had told her the truth, prepared to accept the consquences of what would happen... or at least he had thought so at the time. "No." He said, lowering his head until he was practicially nose to nose with the sniffling creature. "You are right, you could never and would never be like me. No one is. I am a walkng nightmare, a beast that haunts the night and the day, even in your dreams you could never escape me... I am everywhere. I am everyone. I am the true darkness of the world." He narrowed his eyes, huffing at the pathetic creature, "And you will do well to remember you can not escape me!"
He pulled back then, looked down at the creature with no more curiousity, no more anger or interest.... the beast wasn't worth his time. Wasn't worth anyone's time. Oberon would be doing the world a favour in riding the world of it.

He brought up a pawed foot, prepared for what he needed to do. Taking a life would make him do nothing more than bat a single eyelid. It was second nature to him.

No one, not even a beautiful white Angeni by the name of Ariella, could change his true nature.

Sciophobia saw many things flash before his mind. Images of all the places he had run past, all the trees, all the bushes, all the soquili with their variety of breeds, items and garments. They lingered on a mare of blue, with wings like a dragonfly.... she had been kind to him... for a single night at least... but no more, he hadn't thought about her since that night all those years ago.... would never think of her again, he had promised himself that. She had shown him how tricky the Darkness could be, even using mares of gentle nature to lure him into a false sence of security. What had caused him to stop that day? He could no longer remember.
He trembled more. Shaking his head as he tried to deny what he knew to be true... this beast was going to end his life... and Sciophobia had no desire to stop him.
