Phlox made a sound that crossed between grunt and snort and verbal eye roll all at once, and she walked out the door as she did it. It wasn't that she didn't appreciate having a sister who loved her and wanted to make sure she took care of herself, it was just that she had enough stuff going on in her life that she took it for granted and made fun of everyone who thought that she had enough time in her schedule for things like a social life or food.In all honesty, though, she was feeling pretty hungry and as she climbed on the bus she started to wish she'd grabbed something after all.

Cole shifted his weight to hide himself more fully in the shade and frowned to himself. Sure the girls were Halliwells, but techincally they were from an adopted line. Could they really be the source of all that power? Melinda Warren's daughters had built their energy for generations. Surely the pretty little witch from some no-name family who had conveniently married into a famous heritage hadn't managed to give this kind of power to her girls.
And yet...and yet when he closed his eyes he could feel the shapeless, indefinable thing which was magic. it was on the house, in the plants. There was nothing near this much kick at any of the other heirs' homes. Evil had been on the rise and if there was one thing Cole knew about magic, it was that there was always a balance. These Halliwells, by blood or not, were the answer to the darkness. And God help him if he could let them run around so naive.
