Really sorry it's taking me so long. crying Here are the winners! the_scowling_cat Character Name: Merric HollingerOfficial Artwork: HereContest Entry: Merric didn't go to clubs. Not in the way most people went to clubs. He went in through the back doors, climbed over ladders and wires and musical equipment with a fender bass, deep blue with silver detailing, black neck, silver frets, and clear white strings in his left hand.
Merric didn't get the chance to do the things most people did at clubs; he was usually up on the stage, index and middle finger strumming away on his strings as Greg belted out a song. It was different when you were the thing giving entertainment to a bunch of sweaty chicks (half of who were actually hot, he wasn't going to lie) and men (who weren't that hot and usually compensating for something), instead of being on the recieving end. For him, the bass player didn't exactly mind. Dancing had never really been his thing, and while he drank once or twice during the shows (usually just a beer, over a long period of time), he wasn't a heavy drinker.
The blue haired teen stood in the greenroom, tuning his bass. Merric was never one for flashy attire. An old beat up leather jacket, almost now dark grey instead of black it was so used, covered a dark blue t-shirt on which read "Moonlight Song" in flowing white letters. Behind the words was imprinted a grey crescent moon, a series of musical notes in a light blue hanging from the top corner of the crescent. The jacket was just slightly looser than form fitting; tight, but didn't constrict his arms. The zipper had long since broke off, and he'd (poorly) sewn on a series of snaps to hold it closed in the winter. The sleeves were perpetually rolled up to his elbows in wide cuffs that sometimes caught on the tuning nobbs.
A pair of equally as old jeans hugged his hips, a wide black belt holding them from sliding off. The buckle changed from time to time, but tonight it was a simple affair, nothing more than a silver half note. The jeans were a faded light blue color, one knee was almost missing, and the backs around his heels had been walked out long ago. Skater shoes, also simple in just black with white laces, poked out from under the ends of his jeans.
He placed his bass down, reaching for some hair gel on a table nearby. He only put a dime sized amount in his hand and then pulled it through his unruly hair, taming the strains into more defined spikes. As the rest of the band poured into the room, he replaced the silver A earring that was always a part of his outfit, no matter what, in his right ear lobe. He ran his fingers over it a few times, for good luck, and lifted the strap of his bass over his head and onto his shoulder.
With a crack of his knuckles, he nodded to his mates, and left the room to do one last sound check, and let his mind fall away to the music. Lilwolfpard Character Name: Toki FramontOfficial Artwork: Link!Contest Entry:Once upon a time ago, going into a club would have been unfathomable for the female. Distant, not liking of people... and even admittedly, a bit of a introvert. Okay okay, a LOT of a introvert, clubbing was something she avoided like a cat with water. Though that was once upon a time ago... recently she had found a way to cope, it took her a long time but this kitty decided that it was about time to get her paws wet. What began the wheels in their downward spiraling motion was her new found need to be around people. While not preferring it, it was required and demanded of her. The root of the problem, being a... well. New 'organization' that found interacting around people, when they are in need to take a load off their shoulders, to be very beneficial. So came the not-so-new feeling of entering into a club. It took her around ten minutes of standing outside of the club. Yes, she would use the excuse to her peers that she was 'surveying' the game board, getting a look at the potential targets. In reality, while this might be fractionally true, it was also to calm her nerves. The taste of bile in her mouth was the sure sign that she was not ready. Nauseated or dizzy were other fairly common signs. It took many a day of perfecting, and yet still was not perfected, possibly never would be, but she could pull up a mental shield around herself in the time it took to 'get a feel of the playing field'. She could wash away what she was thinking... only play to the task at hand. When in uniform, she still required a subtle touch to do her work. Tonight though, tonight was just to get inside and see if she could work here. So she could snarl if anyone tried to touch. She also just wanted a drink. Did she forget to mention she was under aged? Check! Fake ID was a go. The slip inside was easy, she made sure to do herself up to look like a 21 year old at the very least. Her hair was down, honey brown pooling around her neck. It felt a little itchy, she was used to having it pulled back or at least tucked behind her ears, but it made her appear older. The slight touch of make up around her eyes gave her that 'smokey' older feel, or so she felt at least. Large golden hoops swung like swings on her ears. They were heavy, but no pain no gain! Her outfit was rather simple for this go, not wanting to attract TOO much attention to herself. She wore a simple oversized white collared shirt that was unbuttoned a few from the top. The sleeves were folded over a few times so they reached at her elbows to reveal a few gold bangles around her left wrist. Over the white shirt was a red and black trimmed vest. It was tight around her waist, making the white shirt flare out a bit, but it was comfortable enough. She could move at least without fear of her chest spilling out, unlike a lot of the dancing fools around her currently. The shirt spilling out under the small vest was also restrained by a simple black belt that road low over her hips. The pants worn were tight and solid black. Any more weight gain and she would barely fit in to these, but she figured with the newest fashions of what she called 'can see every crease in your a**' jeans, she would fit right in. The shoes were something she probably should have spent more time choosing, but this being a personal outing so she figured comfort was key. They were simple, but bright a** red, boots. The pop of color was enough so the outfit did not seem TOO dull. Successfully inside, the young woman made a dash for the bar. Ok... she PUSHED her way through the crowd to the bar. It was enough to almost break her shield... usually she did not come to the parties when it was this crowded. Mental shields were one thing, touching? Another entirely. A few grunts, glares, and snarls on her part and she was classified as the 'no touch' range for the night. She was not afraid to make example of some poor sap whom dared rival her 'don't ******** with me' aura... but she would prefer to just be left alone. At least tonight. "Start me off with a Blue Moon." She called to the bartender, feeling like having something with a bit of sweetness to it tonight. Drink in hand, the brunette's keen eyes, hot pink as if a summer peony was suddenly in the fray of tangled bodies, watched. She sipped at her drink, amused that for once the two seats next to her, on either side, were vacant. A smile curved at the corner of her lips. She wondered if it was dumb luck, or the look she was currently giving people. Either way, she felt secure. Toki had a feeling she could learn to like this place. Maybe. Next time she would come a bit earlier... when the parties jsut begun and the energy from the humans was ripe for the picking. Maybe even bring a friend or two, and let the hunt begin.
