This was undeniable proof that Quinton was not involved in whatever it happened to be that was occurring in the city. The stench was so foul Kelsi considered using magic to create a breathable bubble. Even though she was a witch, Kelsi despised the use of magic unless absolutely necessary which normally involved another creature of magic attempting to kill her; that had become a very rare occurrence. Horrific scents were not creatures of magic but they were threatening her ability to breathe and therefore her ability to live. Immortal, terribly difficult to kill, but not invincible, the words floated through her mind. She pushed them out of consciousness and the voice of her departed sister-in-law along with it.
That being settled, Kelsi turned around and began walking with every intention of going back to her room to freshen up and prepare for tomorrows festivities; lighting many scented candles in the process. Surely Mr. Bennett knew what he was searching to do and required simple focus. As the fog was settled low to the cobbles, Kelsi nearly missed the thing that what laying in the street. It had not been there before or she'd have tripped over it. It was moving- crawling maybe?- slowly. When it was closer and the mist was not so thick, she could see a human looking figure that was missing a foot. "At least I now know where that horrific smell is coming from," she mumbled into her hand. Unfortunately, she didn't know what it was, or what it was doing. Especially missing a foot, Kelsi was certain it couldn't move that fast so she opted to run around it and hope to never see such a thing again.

A figure came out of the mist and Ashley Bennett took aim with his pistol, sending a silver bullet infused with magic sailing at the creature coming toward him. He heard it hit with a wet sucking noise that made the skin on the back of his neck stand on end. The creature made a soft moaning sound in response signaling that he hadn’t mortal wounded the thing, just slowed it down a bit. He swallowed hard as she took a deep steadying breath, aiming the pistol at the sky and then took aim again. This time he could make out the shape of a misshapen head and that’s where he aimed.
The next bullet went straight through the skull, making it explode in a thick mass of blood and thicker things. Ashley who’d never really enjoyed violence much let out a chocking cough as he covered his head as he watched the gay skinned body crumple to the ground in a mass of useless flesh. “So disgusting,” he commented softly to himself as he heard the sound of shuffling behind him. Slowly he looked at the bodies that had been lying in the puddles were now gone.
“Bloody Hell!”

Not too far away, the gunshot that had been fired nearly caused Kelsi to trip over the hem of her dress. It appeared the sudden noise hadn't caught the curiosity of the not-so-human creatures as a handful of them were crawling, or walking, away from the source and almost directly towards her. Kelsi didn't think for a minute that normal bullets would kill them; she also didn't know what type of magic might destroy them either. Lovely, she thought. Hidden in convenient places, Kelsi had a small handgun -it only held eight bullets-, and two dagger all of which she did not want to confirm were useless in her current predicament.
She took a quick glance around and quickly decided that she would have to do something against the small crowd that was forming. There was no doubt they had seen her and were, at the very least, interested. Resisting the urge to gag, she pulled out her dagger from a holster around her thigh through a small slit that was hidden in the folds of her dress. Using her magic, she formed a green and black colored whip using the dagger as the handle. Not being very fond of magic, Kelsi wasn't sure her idea would work, but she did not want those things within any close proximity so she began to slash first at their legs, and then aiming higher in hopes of a more permanent solution.

Ashley raced out of the alleyway looking both ways for signs of the undead. At first glance he didn’t see anything to mark their passing but in the opposite direction in which he had come he noticed a streaking trail of dark fluids leading down the side of the street. He grimaced but followed it despite the tight knot that was developing in his stomach. He was surprised to see the woman he’d shared a carriage with earlier standing with a dagger in her hand facing a group of four or five undead creatures. But he didn’t have time to think much about it. He took aim once more with his gun and this time the first shot destroyed the brain of his first target. Then he moved on to the next. He knew he didn’t have enough bullets to take care of them all but he was determined to kill as many as he could with the gun rather than fight them hand to hand.

Kelsi saw Mr. Bennett for only a split second, unwilling to give up any of her focus. Most people in Ireland knew of her abilities, most people in London did not. As much as she would have liked to keep it that way, some situations were unavoidable.
There were a few less; it was good to know they could be destroyed by a human pistol Kelsi noted. She could vaguely sense that there was some magic being used but the specifics of it was lost to her. Without hesitation she pulled back her "whip" and slashed it through the nearest creature's head. There was just enough distance between her and it that no matter reached her dress. Unfortunately pieces of the second one did. "How revolting," Kelsi muttered under her breath.
