Melanie snickered, her eyes shinning with amusement. "You aren't all that bad. You've been perfectly sincere with me." she said, giving a nod. "I don't mind the deeper parts of the forest. I've actually spent most of my days in them.
Smiling, Melanie nodded. "She's had two lovely girls. And is trying for more with her mate. Though, I think they are just happy with the activity of trying. At least for now." She giggled. "From what I've heard, her daughters have had children as well."
Turning her head, she watched his expression. "It doesn't bother you that I am older, does it?" she smiled. She certainly didn't look like she could have great grandchildren. Though she was also very young when everything happened. "I mean, I don't look bad, do I?"

"Sincere? That is a first because I don't think I have ever been sincere with anyone else other then family members. But your different and seem almost like family to me if that makes sense. I see...well it's better that you don't mind the deeper parts since that is where my family lives. Very very deep in the forest, but if you ever want to go there...I would advise you to either come find me to go with or go there with someone you trust. It can be dangerous."
He told her in a calm tone of voice as they continued on their way. He didn't mind being around her. Maybe it was because she wasn't one of those annoying mares that were always at him. He had his fair share of those already.
"Ah I see..At least the family is growing more and more. I never really thought about the idea of trying...I never really met the right mare that I wanted to have my children with. Well...until you. I respect you and your mature compared to those I have met so I would rather have that over anything else. Wouldn't you agree?"
He looked over to her and honestly he never really tried for children. No one really peeked his interest enough and he was hard to please. He wanted what he wanted and if he didn't respect the mare then they were better off just walking away. He was picky, but that is just how he was.
"No not really..I'm older then most that I meet anyway. In my herd I'm one of the few elders in it so I'm not use to being younger then someone. It's a little strange, but interesting at the same time. Look bad? No..actually for someone that has grandchildren you don't really seem or look old at all. You have aged well if that makes you feel better."
He said with a slight smirk. Being flirty wasn't one of his strong points. Being truthful was more his way then anything else.

"Well I wouldn't go as far as calling you like family, but I do feel more comfortable around you than I do most males. I don't have to pretend to be other than who I am." Could someone truly know who they are without knowing their past? She shook her head slightly to rid her mind of the thought.
"Maturity comes with the age I guess... but sometimes I do like to let down my mane and have a little a fun. It does wonders for ones looks. You are only as old as how you feel. And if you let yourself get too ridged you'll just feel older. " Mel smiled, acknowledging his kind words. "Thank you. It does. And for your age, you look simply handsome."
The trees suddenly opened up to a narrow clearing just large enough to fit a small family of soquili. This was the last place she had seen her youngest daughter Aylen. Pausing, she glanced around the abandoned space. It looked familiar, and yet somehow, not. Maybe because the space seemed vacant now of the faces that used to fill it.
"Well, this is the last place I saw her... And it's been quite some time since anyone has been here by the looks of it."

"Thank you. I don't usually take compliments, but I will from you."
He told the mare as he looked at the sight before him. He didn't know what to think or how he could comfort her at the moment. That was never a strong suit from him and honestly he didn't know if there was something he could do about it. Maybe it was something he needed to work on.
"Should we start looking here and then continue on? I will promise to help you find her since this is something you really want to do. I don't want to abandon you until she is found. As long as that is alright with you?" He asked her feeling like it was his duty to help her. An obligation. He looked around the area sniffing the ground and the air picking up no scent whatsoever. It had been too long for them to find something like that. This was going to take a long time and possibly could end in her not being found at all.

"As you said, I think it has been too much time..." she shook her head, knowing that this was a fruitless search. Too much time had passed. Taking a deep breath she turned to Gabriel, and nodded. "We wont find anything, but thank you so much for this... For what you've done."
Mel paused, and nodded again, fighting back against the emotions that threatened to spill out. This stallion wouldn't know what to do about an emotional mare, he didn't need this anymore than she did. Swallowing back the thick lump in throat she forced a smile. "It means alot to me. Perhaps it would be best to forget the search." After all, she had alreasy used up too much of his time already.
For the next generation, she would do better.
No.They would do better, she corrected herself.
