Thread is still stickied so I assume it's still valid, even if there hasn't been a post since 2012? 8'D

I have a suggestion! Sometimes I get kind of lost trying to find info since some is on the main thread, some in diff parts of the guild, etc. So could we have one subforum that's dedicated to every bit of information all in one place? Basically an encyclopedia/almanac/album/compilation/reference book whatever, with thread titles that specifically state what its content is (ex: Maps // Regions and locations, Evolution // How to grow your pokemon). I think it'd be helpful overall!

So not sure how plausible this is, or if it may get too crazy/out of hand, or if a version of this even exists already, but... I was just thinking about how there's battle rp's and what not, but there aren't any real catching rp's available for Poke's. A few ideas in regards to it are as follows:

-I think it could be cool if there were options like that, where there's some premades that are made available to catch. Sort of like what you guys have done in the past with rolling until a specific number is met. It could be something just like that, or something similar, such as even having restrictions based on say your characters location, profession, amount of Pokemon owned, etc. to narrow down the playing field. The won Pokemon could even have specific features/perks that relate to the restricted participants. { ex; the Pokemon could have a bow on them, that could pertain to coordinators. }

Ex: A set of Caterpie are available to catch. People can try catching them by rolling for them, or what ever means necessary. { maybe making offerings, even. }
Winners gain said Pokemon with the little perk that relates to their career.

- Another thought is there being a set amount of Pokemon slots that are open for people to catch. Essentially, first people to... say get a certain number, or get a number closest too, or who gets the highest/lowest numbers, get to catch a Pokemon. This could go about being a free for all in what they catch, or it could be preset like only commons/uncommons allowed. Something like that. That way colourists wouldn't be swamped, but people would have a chance to use a function that is so big part of the world, in a maybe more natural setting.
Colouration wise can be up to the colourists, or could also have some sort of contribution decision wise based on something the winners would have to do.

Ex: Colourist A is opening 4 slots for rare Pokemon to be caught. Colourist B is opening 2 slots for uncommon/common Pokemon to be caught.

Players then create solo's, and roll a die. Depending on what the criteria is, they either catch the Pokemon, or don't. { you could also use your guys' mechanics like you've used in the past for dice roll catching stuff. Buying the ultra balls for higher chances, and what not. }

The first people to meet the criteria can then gain a Pokemon of their choosing in the specific rarity tier, and the colourist can decide on what sort of colourations the Pokemon will have.

- A third idea would be for there to maybe be solo's that are dedicated to catching a Pokemon, but require a certain amount of criteria. Essentially it'd be a solo rp, about your character coming upon said Pokemon, and attempting to catch it. There can be a word count requirement, and even be based on whose story is liked most, for there to be a winner. So sort of like an rp contest. These rp's could be done when ever, or during a specific point in time when colourists open it up for availability.
If it were done where you could post them simply when ever you please, maybe the mule could be PM'd with said RP, and judged from there. It could be given a yay, or ney, depending on what ever reasons you'd want, and some sort of feedback could be given such as "Your attempts were honorable, but unfortunately the Pokemon got away! Maybe try a different way to go about catching [insert Pokemon name here]." just something that sort of encourages people to try a different approach, or exercising different scenarios for their character. These rps could also include others too, rather than being strictly solo's! But each character participating, { not all have to in the rp}, are graded individually and together at the same time.

ex: Character A is out exploring [insert area here], trying to seek refuge from an oncoming storm. On their way, they encounter [insert pokemon here], who seems to be braving the elements. Character A finds themselves wanting to catch it, for [insert reasons here], and the rp goes on from there. The rp is then submitted and graded.

If these slots could become pretty common to see pop up, I think it'd really add to the experience, and chances of people getting Pokemon the like/want, and progressing in development or plots.

w-will post more ideas if they come up. 8s;

Hey there, answering your question if that is all right!

Yes, you're free to play as a wild Pokemon as long as you won a Pokemon from an event. Simply creating a Pokemon is a no-go as you must officially own one to role-play it.

If you mean under the pretense of a Pokemon owned by a trainer (as in the trainer is another person), I am sure it is possible, but not done yet. I'd have to ask for clarification on this, but I do believe it was discouraged in the past? Someone on staff would have to correct me on this if I am wrong, though.

Well I did get my answers and it turns out that my thoughts will not follow through, for I have created a pokemon that I would to have liked to play, but as I can not create a pokemon that I can play as, my decision has been made.

Can I inquire what discouraged your creativity? There is absolutely nothing wrong with working and tweaking an idea. Unfortunately, yes, you are inhibited from role-play because you have to win a Pokemon to do so, but if you hang around the main thread, you may get lucky and have someone gift you one. Otherwise, you can wait for an even--there should be one happening within the next month!
