Oh good, he wasn't getting beaten on anymore.
No matter how much it hurt, Mac managed to at least sit up, his legs sprawled in front of him and his arms around his probably internally bleeding stomach. Owwwww his everythingggggg~
"Jack off, b-behemoth!" Mac spat, practically hissing. How dare he call Lizzy not good! How dare he! "Lizzy's a good ghoul. too good, for me anyway. Ssso you shut your face, or I'll shut it for you." Mac needs to learn how to learn.

Herryk snorted.
"Mac's brains must be mushy from the punch that Herryk gave Mac's nose."
Herryk rose to his feet and offered a hand to the reaper he'd just gotten done beating.
"Lizzy has not stopped caring about Mac in Herryk's opinion. Lizzy said that she loves Mac for his bad and his good. Lizzy cries tears for this boil that sits before Herryk. Lizzy is not doing good in this way, Mac. For reasons that Herryk does not understand, Lizzy sees something in this stupid boil." Herryk grunted.
"Do not tell Herryk that Mac broke up with Lizzy for Lizzy's own good." Herryk shook his head and bared his teeth. "A smart boil would beg for Lizzy's forgiveness. Lizzy is a sweet and gentle ghoul. Lizzy showed Herryk what hot chocolate tastes like." Herryk shook his head.
"And Herryk promised not to tell Mac that Lizzy cried. Herryk broke this promise."

The offered hand was stared at as though it were poison. On one hand, it was an offer to stand. On the other, it was a hand. He contemplated his options while listening to what he had to say about Lizzy, and every word only served to drive a stake further into him.
Of course Lizzy cried, of course she wasn't doing okay, and it was completely his fault. He knew this already.
"It's better now than later." Mac murmured unhappily, reaching up with a shaking hand to take the offered help up despite everything telling him not to. "I..." I love Lizzy, but... "I can't...give her what she wants out of life. I can't give her everything she...that she deserves. I'd rather make her hate me now and hurt now, when she can still find someone better than...have her regret it all further down the road." A brief stare was levied on Herryk, trying to disgintuish the big black form from his blurry, spotty, kind-of-red-but-all-pained vision.
"I won't tell her...if you don't tell her I lied." He hoped, sincerely hoped, that Herryk was the type to hold his promises above almost everything else.

There were times that Herryk sometimes thought that perhaps he was not everything that Freya deserved. He was not the smartest boil at the Academy, but he tried hard. Whenever he had thoughts that Freya could find better, he only made himself work harder to be the boil that she deserved. They had their fights and misunderstandings, but that was normal in relationships as far as Herryk knew.
Hefting Mac up to his feet, Herryk felt a surge of self-loathing. Instead of coming to this room and discussing things with Mac, Herryk had roared in like some Nordic hurricane with flailing fists and seething words. Even worse, he'd been driven by an insane anger that had not helped in his determination to see things clearly, rationally. He wouldn't apologize for what he'd done to the boil, but he would not hit him again.
For now.
"This is silly. If Mac thinks that he is not good enough for Lizzy, then what is stopping Mac from making himself good enough?" Herryk tired of Mac's slow movements and bent at the knee to pick Mac up in his arms before hustling the reaper over to the couch. Gingerly he laid the boil down before clearing his throat. "Herryk cannot promise. If Lizzy will be upset, then... Herryk will have to deal with her anger when the time comes."
It was ridiculous and Herryk could hardly believe the words were coming out of his mouth, but now that his anger had been exhausted, Herryk was feeling a bit mollified. And a lot ashamed.
"Can ah.. Can Herryk get Mac anything?"

Mac didn't say a word, not a single word, until Herryk put him down again. It wasn't because he was hurting, either; it was because he was still afraid of what Herryk could do while carrying him. Well, the pain also had something to do with it. Probably a lot to do with it. Once he was put down he shifted more comfortably, too busy feeling a strange sense of satisfaction from being carefully cared by the person who maimed him to feel any sort of mortification over the whole bridal-style thing going on.
"I tried, a lot...but I still made her cry, a lot." He attempted to touch his face again, gently pinching his nose with an uncomfortable hiss, trying to feel for damaging breaks or anything he should go to the nurse for. Not...that he knew what he was feeling for, at all. "Guess I'm too selfish." He murmured low, shrugging. ...Wait, was he hearing that right? The boil who smashed his face in was...asking that? Really? Admittedly, a lot of really nasty things ran through his mind, but no matter how tempting they were he merely sighed, shaking his head.
"The only thing I want from you right now, is you promising me that you won't tell Lizzy...also promising to not hit me again. So I guess that's two things I want."

Herryk waved a big hand, dismissing Mac's comment about trying as he watched the reaper fuss with his nose. It was probably broken, there was no sense in poking and prodding it.
"What does Mac mean, he is too selfish?" Selfish how? What, exactly, was Mac being selfish about? It piqued Herryk's curiosity, and since Mac was hardly in any shape to get up and escape, Herryk pretty much had the boil right where he wanted him when it came to getting answers.
"Herryk... will promise not to hit Mac again. And since Mac is wishing for more than one promise," Herryk leaned against the arm of the couch where Mac's feet rested, "Herryk will agree to the promise not to tell Lizzy if Mac promises to tell Herryk exactly what happened between Mac and Freya." It was a good deal, since he was already promising not to hit Mac again. Besides, maybe if Herryk knew everything that had transpired, he could better understand why Freya hadn't told him about the tickling ...and the fact that she had kissed Mac first.

Nngh, ouch, yep, broken! Yet he couldn't stop touching it. Ow ow ow ow ow ow OKAY THAT'S ENOUGH! He wiped his bloody hand on whatever part of Herryk he could reach, and did his best to frown at the conversation. Wow, he really was cornered, wasn't he? Good show, man. Good show.
"Selfish. If I change any more, I won't be me anymore." He was willing to bend, but he couldn't break entirely. Did that make him selfish? Likely. Black eyes narrowed as best as they could at the ultimatum, pondering his options and wiping his bloody mouth on his own sleeve this time.
He should probably go see a Doctor. Maybe.
"Err, fine. But...to be honest I'm not sure how it started." His words were starting to get a little more nasal-sounding, as his body realized hey something's not right what the ********>. This was probably the best opportunity he had to clear things up as best as he could without getting hit again, sooo..."Err, well, lets see...she showed up with chocolates, I can't remember why. Then...we talked on the couch, uhhh she said something about wanting to be better for you?" He remembered what his room looked like at the time, but it was hard for him to recall the smaller details; just the ones that were important to him, like say...the feelings that mirrored his own. "Uhh...I threatened her to not get her camera over something but she did, so we wrestled a bit, she got a picture, um...more...wrestling...then somehow we fell onto the floor." In fact, he was helpful and pointed at said floor, as if that helped. "That's when she kissed me. I jumped back, she got up, started spewing bullshit that I started it and..." And...whoooo boil. Uhh...Well, he rememebred what happened quite vividly after that, because it involved pain.
"You...promise not to hurt me again, right?" He asked, admittedly apprehensively.

There was something in Mac's words that struck close to home. Herryk could suddenly see where the boil was coming from, and it made sense. A painful kind of sense that left Herryk feeling unsettled. Very unsettled. He didn't feel like he was changing so much that he was not himself, but... tch. Food for thought, if nothing else.
"Let Herryk ...get it straight. Freya came to Mac's door. Freya had chocolates. Freya and Mac talked on the couch. Somehow Freya and Mac wrestled over the phone. Then a picture, more wrestling. And then Freya kissed Mac? Mac jumped up and argued with Freya and then... and thennnnn? Was this all? And yes, Mac. Herryk has already done enough damage to this face and body. Herryk is not interested in punching more."
His voice turned more and more desolate as he kept talking. Freya had not mentioned the chocolates, or the wrestling on the couch. Herryk was not interested in punching Mac. He was too busy mulling over this new information.
It bothered him, no lie.

"Yeah...I think she might've been lookin' for someone. I mean...I've been here longer than she has." He was year two after all, and she didn't feel like a year two! But when came time to tell the rest of the story, he was hesitant as always. Herryk might say he had no interest in punching him now, but just wait!
"She...said somethin' like 'you'd know it if I kissed you', and...I was really angry by then so...I told her she'd know it if I started it, too, so - you promised you wouldn't punch me," Mac reminded Herryk seriously. He was gonna be honest here, don't make him regret it! "I proved it, I kissed her...BUT! But but...she punched me and left." The look of regret crossed his bloodied features, groaning unhappily for more than the pain.
"I wouldn't have...but she pissed me off with her putting all the blame on me when it wasn't my fault thing."

Herryk's features twisted. Mac had purposefully kissed Freya? On purpose?
On the LIPS?
No, Herryk wouldn't punch Mac. Herryk was not the type to break promises easily. Yes, he'd told Mac that Lizzy had cried over him, but that was because it had been important to make Mac see what he was doing to Lizzy. How he was hurting her, how he was making her cry.
No, Herryk would not punch Mac.
He would just break things that Mac owned.
Rising to his feet with an anguished sound, Herryk moved towards the small TV that rested upon a stand. He picked it up, lifted it over his head and just... hurled it against the floor. The shattering and crumpling of the electronic almost soothed Herryk's rage.
Almost.
"Herryk cannot believe that Freya would kiss Mac. Herryk.. there must be something else that Mac is not telling Herryk." The draugr reached for one of the system ragers that sat near the empty spot where the TV once was. "Herryk will break everything in this room until he gets the truth, Mac."

"...HEY!"" That was his TV! Mac watched as his TV met the end of its life, staring at the broken pieces and thanking jack that it wasn't him. For a moment Mac considered not answering, especially when Herryk reached for the System Rages next; the Draugr was actually doing him a favour by smashing them, since he had a box of their pins lying around...somewhere...but the threat made him change his mind.
"I swear to jack, Herryk! That's what happened! We rolled off the couch and when we stopped, I don't know how - I don't know why - but it happened!" Part of him felt really bad for the obviously upset Undead, but the louder part of him was screaming SUFFER, a*****e! It was hard to tell which side was winning, but one could hazard an easy guess.
"She'd've had to lean up to do it, man! She told me from the start that she had a boilfriend, and I ain't into stealin'!" There was a reason he didn't often go after taken ghouls; Herryk was exhibit A.

Herryk slowly set the system ragers back from where he'd snatched it up.
Herryk did not walk around telling ghouls that they would know it if he kissed them. Herryk did not march around the halls of his dorm knocking on doors to offer chocolates. Herryk did not get into wrestles with ghouls that he did not know. After everything that he and Freya had been through -- after everything that Herryk had done for Freya, had given to Freya -- why was he standing in this room with this bloodied boil hearing stories about Freya doing all of these things?
Running a hand down his face, Herryk took a long, long moment to compose himself.
"This does not make any sense to Herryk. This does not seem... this is not right." Herryk suddenly sounded - and felt - very drained.
"If Mac does not need help going to the nurse, Herryk will be leaving. Herryk is sorry for stomping on Mac. Mac ... only deserved the first punch, for now. If Herryk has made a mistake, he will be back to apologize again after speaking with Freya."

"I don't know, man. I'm just telling you what I do know." Mac shrugged. He had been watching Herryk, and the Draugr was pretty easy to read. He still wanted to apologize to Herryk for kissing Freya because he seriously wouldn't have otherwise, but...yeah, he still wanted him to wallow. The first punch was for Lizzy, right? He was pretty sure that's what he said...
"Yeah." He agreed, giving another hiss as he stupidly touched his nose again. "Nah...I'll make it. I'm sure you can show yourself out?" He kind of showed himself in, after all.

Herryk stared at Mac for a long, long time in silence. That sad, morose expression had been reigned in. He was stoic now, no trace of emotion lingering on his features. Herryk gave Mac a sharp nod -- he hadn't been expecting an 'oh hey it's okay bro' type reaction at all -- before moving to the door.
He paused.
"Mac should talk to Lizzy. Be honest with Lizzy. These lies? They are no good. Lies only hurt, and Lizzy deserves better. Doesn't Mac think so?"
He didn't wait for an answer, instead slipping through the door silently. He closed the door behind him with a soft click. Herryk took a step towards Freya's door, hesitated. He decided against knocking on her door, instead spinning on his heel to make the short trudge home. There was much for him to think about, and he did not want to speak with Freya while the anger was so fresh.
That conversation would wait, for now.

Mac stayed quiet until Herryk left, staring down at his bloody hands no matter how blurry his vision was, no matter how many spots he saw. But when the door closed, he sighed.
"No." He murmured, then struggled to his feet to get to the Nurse.
