The direct and blunt way the other had been flattering him kept on catching him off guard. Sige was both shy and amused by the words of that he kept on receiving--but more in disbelief that someone like Garrett was saying it. It wasn't everyday a handsome and gorgeous man approaches him and asks for... company.

Pulled away from his thoughts he shook his head in forgiveness. "Sorry, force of habit---Adorable nickname?" now he chuckled under his breath, nodding his head in quiet interest. It seemed like the other easily pulled out a range of different feelings out of him. "I am not very creative with things like that but I shall keep that in mind, Garrett." And with that he secretly did hope he had more time to talk to the other-- hoping-- though the chance was slim, that he would be seeing the man around a lot more.

"Valuable things," he repeated, careful with the words he was using. "I hunt for these things. Puts food on the plate and it's rather --enjoyable despite the few risks." Motioning his hand towards Garrett's long weapon, he took a rather long look at his waist, taking a moment to let out a soft cough. "You're no doubt a very able fighter, from what I can gather," He agreed with the man. "It would definitely have been unfortunate if I had met you in a dance of swords for the first time. Because then I wouldn't be able to talk to you like this. More groaning and shouting." Said this with a straight face, gulping when the words leave his mouth and averting his eyes for a second before meeting those attractive greens once again.

"Busy, hm? '' The merchant did not want to pry, his head agreeing with the other though since he had been rather 'busy' himself as well. The deal earlier that day only the first in a week and it was not because he lacked the clientele. He had more---strange and pressing matters to attend to.
"I understand how that goes," And then he gives the dark-haired man a small grin, letting out an amused sound with the other's flirting as he takes another sip of the new mug, just a little bit light headed from all what he had taken in. "I highly doubt that your services aren't in demand."

"That is all I can ask for, my charming companion, that you keep me in your thoughts." And to that, Garrett grinned, clearly enjoying the play on words that had the merchant in a bit of a shy demeanor. For someone of Sige's size - likely as tall as himself and perhaps a smidgen heavier - he found that the honeyed brunette could be so demure to be just another of the man's allure. Quiet, honest, killer smile -- he had all the markings for the mercenary to stick true to his word and pursue the unfortunate man until he broke down and gave in. The notion of it gave him a pleasant tingle in his spine.

Arching a dark brow, he allowed himself to elaborate on Sige's behalf. "A treasure hunter, hm?" Watching the way the ocean-colored eyes lingered around his middle, he went so far as to lean back and shift his weight in case Sige's imagination was as potent as his own. "What an exciting lifestyle! I'm sure you've seen all walks of life and been all over the continent. I bet you've fascinating tales to share." He kept his expression at a pleasant teasing until Sige made mention of them crossing swords; the description made him lightly cover his scarred lips with his fingers, though the motion could not hide his wide, cheshire grin. "Positively a shame," he remarked, his eyes never wavering from the merchant's own embarrassed features. "I think I might have liked that very much."

Lowering his hand to again rest against the worn cusp of the mug, he rolled his broad shoulders in an indifferent shrug. This was one turn of topic that made him only slightly more considerate, mostly because the warmth of the totem reminded him of that gripping need to find it, the mad two-day dash through the forest to retrieve it. To Garrett, such a driving possession of madness was not something to be idly joked about. "Strange happenings keep the roads empty; even the most travel-worn find the risks during the colder months not worth the coin. It'll pick up." Cocking his head to the side, he again flashed a smile to Sige's continuous compliments. "I would freely grant you my services if you had need of them," he commented in a thoughtful tone, even if the words were abrupt. "Any excuse to get into your comfort zone. That and gazing at you all day sounds less like work and more like a treat for being such a good boy this year."

"Believe me, you are in my thoughts," he replied with a gruff as he cleared his throat once again, his eyes still fixated on the other.

The man was oblivious to Garrett's own thoughts, still accepting that perhaps his 'chance' with this man was lost. Despite the dark-haired man's compliments and not-so-subtle come ons, he would not dare hope that it would come to more than this, and for now he was fine with it. But despite that he couldn't help his roving eyes. The push of hips and the angle to which the other stood made him shift in his seat once again. For like the other was wondering, he did have a rather-- colourful and lasting imagination.

The exclaim of his company made his eyes dart up, grounding him once again to the fact that this gorgeous man was still talking to him despite the crowds of people in the bar and especially since he had turned him down earlier. The edges of his lips lifted up very gently at the words of Garrett, chuckling under his breath. "Treasure hunter! You make it sound like such an appealing and romantic journey," he replied with a shrug of shoulders, "It's an occupation, something that keeps me --alive. And I am very sure you have had much more adventures than I." With the sword comment he kept quiet, hiding the small smile on his features as he took another swig of alcohol.

He agreed with a bow of head to the man's statement, looking down thoughtfully and letting out a deep sigh. "Strange things indeed," he said, not expounding on it. For a second a troubled look came over his features, honestly having been plagued by the totem in his possession for many days now. He was bothered that he didn't know a thing about it, never really having listened to the old tales the elders would tell little boys and girls. Myths and legends weren't exactly his thing. He then cast an incredulous look towards his company, shaking his head. "I wouldn't accept. Excellent services have to be rewarded. And I doubt --well, gazing at me would help you any. That would be more of a reward for me." he says seriously and terribly humbled by the mercenary's words.

The man laughed with delight, leaning back in his chair once more and offering a crooked, teasing grin to the merchant. To Garrett, it was as though Sige was mounting every defense, every plausible denial to refute him. Were that the case, he would not be dissuaded, for even the most sturdy of walls crumbled beneath the most gentle of lapping waves. The challenge was positively thrilling to the young mercenary.

"It is a romantic notion," he agreed with a bemused smile, "finding old relics and wealth of old, the dangers involved - it certainly doesn't hurt that the hunter is as roguishly handsome as you." It was easy for him to flirt and gently discard the humble words with turn-about compliments, but the agreement of 'strange things' and the pensive look on Sige's face sobered him greatly. With the totem on his mind, it was like the fun and thrill of seeking a companion for the night had been dulled a little, a constant reminder that he had a companion, however foreign and inert as it was just then. Things that called to people rarely stayed so immobile, though he didn't really know what to expect - or if there was anything to expect.

Sige's voice pulled him out of his thoughts, realizing the totem had again snagged his attention. This was no good, as he only wanted to make Sige blush and smile rather than linger on such unsettling thoughts. Garrett knew he'd have little in the way of peace now that he was mulling over it again. "Believe me, Sige, spending the day with you would be more than an ample payment. Consider the offer, at least, should you have need of an able sword." Winking, the dark-haired man emptied his mug in one drought and stood with ease, straightening his vest-jacket and fixing Sige with a friendly smile. "Alas, if I can't persuade your company this night, then I must retire to plan more ways to convince you."

Laughing a little, Garrett brushed aside his joking and instead spoke in a more earnest tone. "Truthfully, I've a prospective job to attend meeting for, and as much as I would favor drinking the night away in the company of the most handsome merchant in the land, I'm afraid it's not good for business if I'm hung over." Picking up his gloves, he cocked his head to the side and extended his free hand, fingers gently brushing Sige's collar down again, eyeing the wound. "You take care of yourself, Sige. I'd very much like to see you again." Lifting the hand at his neck only slightly, he cupped the man's cheek and leaned down abruptly, pressing a chaste but full kiss against his lips before righting himself and withdrawing his hands back to himself. "A parting gift to remember me by. Good eve, Sige." With a pleased smile, he winked at the other and made his way through the bar, sauntering out into the night.

He exhaled deeply, mulling each statement that left the man's tempting lips. This situation was definitely so foreign to him, he usually paid no heed to strangers as he knew that people always merely needed something from him. Granted, Garrett also propositioned --something to him but it was not what he would ever expect in a million years. Even though he probably needed that offer of company more than he thought.

Even more surprising was the unrelenting surge of compliments he was receiving, the embarrassment mixed with the alcohol in his body bringing a light tinge of pink to his cheeks. In the face of this man, Sige's thoughts were only focused on him and what could have been a lovely night if it weren't for the strict mindset for himself. "I am very much considering. Yet-- again, I must pay you if ever that would happen. It is only proper." he says, standing his ground on that but offering a small smile to the mercenary. His eyes could not stray from the man's smile, as well as how he carried himself. Sige probably looked like a child staring at a present, wanting to unwrap that present to get an eyeful of ----

"Ah?" again he was pulled out from his thoughts, blinking rapidly as he emptied his mug to ease his nerves. "Oh there are much more important things than keep a merchant like me company. Of course your services would be vied for." He was rather disappointed, he would have liked the man's presence yet he did expect that the night was to go this way, and he accepted that fact.

"Take care, Garrett." he started, giving him a slight bow of the head, enjoying the rather strange but pleasing touches to his neck. "I'd really----" And then he was caught off guard, eyes as wide as they could be, the lips on his making him let out a sudden low sound in his throat. He was so taken by how it felt having lips pressed on his own that his heart beat strongly against his chest, yet he did not dare to move, the full kiss warming his body even more. He reached out a hand to touch on the man's wrist, squeezing it in response. Sige grunted when Garrett pulled back, Sige's eyes still open and wide, slightly conscious once again with his surroundings and looking around to see if anyone had seen. Yet the scan of his eyes on the bar was brief, his sea green eyes landing on this handsome stranger.

He stared at Garrett, slack-jawed for a moment before clearing his throat. "You're a hard man to forget, Garrett. Even without this meeting." he had no more words after that, his eyes following the man's figure (while his eyes drifted down to watch the sauntering of Garrett's hips) as he exited the bar.

Sige had to exhale deeply as if he was holding his breath for the whole conversation, sharing the tension on his shoulders as he touched his palm where the man's lips had touched. He muttered an expletive under his breath, trying to calm the warmth in his body and the heat that still lingered on his lips. This was certainly a night to remember.
