Without you, the ground thaws, the rain falls, the grass grows.
Without you, the seeds root, the flowers bloom, the children play.
The stars gleam, the poets dream, the eagles fly, without you.
The earth turns, the sun burns, but I die, without you.

Joyce curtsied as she sat, took part in the meal, and was quiet as she cut up her chicken. She said nothing, remained in stony silence. It was awkward a bit, but not uncomfortable. When Bryce spoke about being a monster, tears welled in her eyes as well. She had a sad, small smile on her face. She glanced at him when he said he made a mistake at school. He could only be talking about the fight that happened between them which had resulted in her spilling her darkest and best-kept secret to him, resulting in their friendship blossoming.
She wanted to say she knew he'd changed, she wanted to have input and say how his mother should give him a chance, but she didn't. She just half-smiled at Bryce, sparkling tears in both their eyes, her bursting to say something. She would have, but proper manners told her not to. She truly hoped Bryce's mother would forgive him, she honestly knew Bryce was different. He wasn't manipulating, but truly, a good guy.

Without you, the breeze warms, the girl smiles, the cloud moves.
Without you, the tides change, the boys run, the oceans crash.
The crowds roar, the days soar, the babies cry, without you.
The moon glows, the river flows, but I die, without you.

[O o c: Lucifer Natalie]

When Bryce had finished, Natalie was just a bit dumbstruck. She wanted to say something, but she didn't want to embarrass him infront of Joyce. Of course she would let him try at this new lifestyle, if that meant he was going to be happy. Natalie could tell that Bryce was never truly happy the way he was, since he grew up around both the vampire world along with her family and muggle society. He was a mutt, and that was obvious. She felt bad that Bryce had gone through all of this, but she was almost still too young she felt to be raising a child. She was only a mere 34 years old, and that's when she thought she'd be sending her baby girl to her first year of school, not her 13 year old to wizarding school who couldn't be without blood because without it he would get cranky and probably pass out because he needed it in his veins like a drug. Natalie stood up and walked over to the other side of the table. She was on the side that Joyce was not, and she kneeled down in front of him. Of course, he wouldn't look at her. He was crying, as if that wasn't embarrassing enough for him.

Natalie reached over Bryce's shoulder and touched his face, her other hand rubbing his knee. She felt like after 13 years, she had just broke through to her son, something she hadn't been able to at all. Maybe it wasn't her at all, thought. It was probably this Joyce character over there. It wasn't the school, because he had been attending the school for two years, and he seemed exactly the same, if not, worse. But Joyce, well, she was just different all together. But if she had this kind of effect on him, then she would take her differences into consideration, and see that maybe, something different was just exactly what this family needed. "Hun, of coure I am going to give this a shot. If it's what you want, then, I will be supportive. I just want you happy, and that's all I care about." Natalie rubbed his cheek, and she watched him turn his head back to her, a smile creeping onto his face.

Bryce, being completely out of character, wrapped his arms around his mum, something he hadn't done willingly since he was probably six or seven years old. He needed her embrace, and he knew that she would probably enjoy it too. It was as if his human nature was taking over, and this was something he had been afraid of. But now, he rather enjoyed it. "Thanks, Mum. I appreciate it." He let her go, and she stood up, carrying herself back to the other side of the table. Bryce looked over that Joyce, wondering exactly what was going on through her head. Just then, Lucifer came through the door, and took a seat at the table, quite awkwardly, actually. "Dad, everything alright?" He was trying to act differently around his mum, but around his dad, he just wasn't sure if he could to it quite yet.

Lucifer leaned back into the chair quite far, almost as if he were about to stick his feet grossly on the table. But, he kept them folded under the table for the time being, and he kept his gaze on the window that lead to the dark woods. He wasn't saying anything, and he didn't make mention of the fight he had created with Natalie. It wasn't his fault, really, or at least that was what he would tell anyone. He just didn't think it was fair that his family couldn't come over more often. That was why he invited his niece and nephew back for the night. And that was why Natalie threw such a fit. "Did you tell him yet, gnat." Bryce felt himself go on edge, now especially. He never called his mum that in front of him, especially not in front of guests. It could have just been a 'Natalie,' or no name mentioned at all. But, no. Every time he called her a 'gnat,' he knew that they had just had a fight. This time it was more than obvious, since they had started throwing things at each other.

Natalie was also on edge, and Bryce could see it all over her face. She usually could keep it together more, but this was different. Luce had crossed the line, and she wanted to make that clear. She cleared her throat, and mumbled something. Luce sat up, ready to say it himself, but Natalie cut him off. "Alright! Bryce, your cousins are coming back for the night. I suggest that you keep a close eye on them."

Bryce was just frozen on the spot. The only thing he could do was look at Joyce, and that wouldn't help him any. They didn't sleep, his cousins. They slept during the day, which was their night time. Bryce was once put on that schedule for a few months until Natalie forced that to stop. They also were more vile during this time of the night. It was no wonder that Natalie had started crying after that fight. She couldn't stand Bryce's cousins, and that wasn't just because Parker had attacked her once. Alex was vile and crazy at night, and she knew that for a fact. Bryce knew that for a fact too. They were getting older, though. Could they really have been that bad.

Joyce couldn't help but let her eyes well up a tiny bit. She wiped them gently with her gloves and smiled a watery smile at Bryce when he hugged his mother. She wish she knew how to act that way. Really, she did. But she couldn't. Ever since Rosebud had died, it was just like a power switch inside of her had been turned off. Perhaps with Bryce, there had been hope all along. Was she hopeless? She tried to grin, and found that the edges of her mouth wouldn't support it, truthfully. She could smile around Bryce, she could laugh, grin with him. She had told him everything. But with anyone else? Nope.
Perhaps the only way she would be able to love was by telling others about Rosebud? Since that was what changed it all with her and Bryce...but no. It had been too hard for her. She didn't want to cry anymore, she didn't want to hurt anymore...didn't want to feel anymore...

and just as that thought crossed her mind, a rushing sense of dread swept over her, Bryce's father was in the room. She politely took a tip of tea and glanced curiously at him in a swift second. Wait...what?
She heard, but didn't believe.
Bryce's cousins were coming? Well...it was late at night...they'd all be asleep, right? But Joyce had a funny feeling they wouldn't intend on sleeping at all. A shiver ran up and down her spine, but she said nothing. When Bryce looked at her, she didn't look back. She knew well when people were looking at her, she could feel that burning on her eyes as it were, because she hadn't looked anyone in the eyes for a long time, and she wasn't about to know, not in front of others.
She took another sip of her tea. Bryce'd protect her...he'd control them...Oh dear god, Bryce, please don't let me down...I don't wanna be a vampire...

[O o c: Lucifer Natalie]

Everyone had finished their meals pretty quickly after that it seemed. Bryce couldn't find anything worthy to talk about, so he just finished quickly and helped his mum clear the table, taking Joyce's plate and things when she had finished as well. He didn't want her to be doing chores here. That was only when she was at her own house. Here, he would be doing everything, along with his mum. Bryce wanted to say something to his mum, but he couldn't argue with her about his cousins. He knew that it wasn't her fault, and that his father had put her up to it, probably blackmailing her or something.

When he came back out, the front door had opened, and he couldn't believe they were already there. Lucifer stood up, an evil grin placed on his face, and he just walked out, not saying a word. Bryce sighed, and took a seat with Joyce. "Don't worry. I'll handle them." He had handled them for 5 years now, hadn't he? Before then, they were the ones in control. But even as a half vampire, it was obvious that their strength and will power was nothing compared to the son of Lucifer. He had so much inner strength that it even scared him sometimes. The only issue right now was his human side. That would have to stay put, though. He had to keep that there, or there would be nothing inside him there to protect Joyce. Natalie wouldn't allow anything to happed, though, so this didn't scare him a lot, really.

Bryce watched his cousins come back in, dropping bags on the couch. Not only were vampires crazy, but they usually packed very heavy. Or at least, they did when they were coming to a family members house. Otherwise, packing was hardly ever necessary. They went all out on everything. Alex didn't bother stopping into the dining room, but Parker, well, that was a different story. He circled into the room like a lost pup, and he sat next to Bryce. "So, who's your friend, there? I saw her earlier, but I don't think we were properly introduced." Bryce rolled his eyes while Parker wasn't looking, and he was about to speak when his mum came in and scolded Parker.

"We do not leave our bags just piled in the front room, Parker. Please go put it down stairs where it belongs." The majority of the bag was most likely blood, but there was no helping that. Bryce watched Parker get up and go, and his shoulders sagged in relief. He didn't have to deal with him yet. There were always things that Parker had to do with Mr. Patel. Bryce mouthed a thanks to his mum, and he turned to Joyce.

"Lets go upstairs before things get too crazy here. Is there anything you've wanted to do since you've arrived?" He almost wanted to take her back downstairs, but he knew that things always got crazy down there, and they always spilled onto the main floor. Maybe the attic was where they were best suited at this point. Maybe they could look at the limited family pictures he had, or maybe Joyce could ask him questions without getting interrupted. Bryce wasn't sure. All he knew was that upstairs was probably safest.

Joyce looked at her gloves meekly when the vampire Parker came around, not looking at him. Joyce breathed a bit easier when Natalie scolded him, it showed she at least had some control over them. After all, Joyce wasn't sure if Natalie had it in her power or right to tell them what to do, but it appeared she was relatively in control. At least enough to keep Joyce safe. Plus, if Bryce had told her not to worry, she wasn't about to. After all, she shouldn't disobey a superior's orders, should she?

"Up to you." She said smiling a bit in spite of herself. "I've never not had to do chores after dinner before." She smiled at Bryce, a bit of a knowing smile, assuring him that she honestly wasn't upset or uncomfortable. She didn't want to be too stiff around him, he might think she hated it here. She didn't want to go home, even with the vampires downstairs. It didn't matter too much where she was, so long as she was with Bryce, who made her happy and could make her smile.

Bryce went up to the loft, and stood there. No one could sneak in on them from there, nor could they attack or get too frisky from the loft. There was only one place to enter from in the attic, or the loft as Bryce called it, and it was easy to corner people in, from Bryce's perspective. At least there was no way he wouldn't know if someone were coming up. If Alex were coming up, though, that may have posed as sort of a problem. They would have some time to figure it out, though. Bryce offered the couch or the chairs to Joyce. It was probably the warmest room in the hosue, even with how big it was. The heat always rose to the attic, regardless of how warm it was.

He took a seat on a cushion on the floor, something he rarely did. He felt most comfortable there at the moment, though. "My family is kind of a handful. You told me everything there is to know about your family, or at least the... rather dark things, anyway. Is there anything you would like to know about my own family?" He wanted to be completely honest with Joyce, hopefully he could get her to speak about his family a little more. He could explain things a little better.

[ O o c;; It's short because I wanted there to be a bit of a pause before Parker and Alex find them and ambush them. They won't... attack, but they'll definitely become difficult. ]

Joyce sat down on the cushion next to Bryce and smiled. Out of habit, she wasn't supposed to sit in a position higher than a man. Not at the head of the table, for example.
It was so warm up here, so nice. She could easily just fall over and sleep. At Bryce's question, she thought for a moment. She did have just one question burning in her brain, but she wasn't sure if Bryce would want to answer it.
"Well..if you don't mind me asking," she started, "how did your mother and father end up together? To be honest, I've never heard of a vampire and non-vampire ending up together, or a half-vampire. Still..." She smiled shyly.
"I'm certainly glad I met one." She grinned and nudged Bryce in the elbow.

She wondered again what would've happened if she hadn't met Bryce. Things would certainly be different, but they certainly wouldn't be better. After all, he'd gotten her to smile and feel a bit...well, free-er. It was like she wasn't Joyce with him. Either that, or she was Joyce and the person she acte as was someone else. She didn't know really, but she didn't care about that all too much.

[O o c: Lucifer Natalie]

Bryce was glad that he joined him on the floor cushion, although it was probably some tradition or something. Bryce leaned against the wall, and listened to her question carefully. She wanted to know about how his parents got together, and even when he was a vampire, this story still stung him a bit. He knew the story from head to toe, beacuse his father told it like it was a winning story. It was as if it were a competition, and he had won. What he got, though, wasn't what he thought he would get. Bryce was never part of the picture when Natalie and Lucifer met up.

Bryce sighed, but he smiled. He decided it would be best to just tell the truth for this one. "Well, you see, My mum is like you. She was born to a muggle family, and well, she didn't get treated very fairly as a child. Her parents hated her for what she was, and they treated her so differently. My mum only left because she couldn't stand being home anymore." He knew that was a huge part of the story. If Natalie wouldn't have left her family, she wouldn't have found Lucifer. "So anyway, when my mum left, she needed somewhere to go. At that time, it was during the war, so my mum couldn't find anyone that trusted her enough, nor that she trusted enough to stay with." He went on, remembering hearing this story from his mum too. She would tell it just slightly differently, but it was all basically the same thing. She was not the type to trust people easily, and her fears had only grown since she had Bryce. "Well, she came across my father one night. He was at some... pub, and she went in asking the owner if he knew anywhere she could stay. He sighed and offered her the room for the night, but my mum knew that wouldn't be enough. She thanked him for the offer, and she left." This was where the story got a little sketchy.

Bryce closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. He didn't like remembering this story, but, at least he knew where he came from after all of this. He wasn't conceived normally, or at least, he didn't think it was normal. "Lucifer jumped on my mum, and kind of kidnapped her. She struggled, throwing jinxes and curses at him, since she was rather good at those at the time, and he brought her here, almost getting his head blown to pieces. He... he bit her for the first time, and she discovered how addicting the bite really was. It hurts, god, I would know. But afterwards, well, you're in a sort of trance, and you don't really want to leave." He couldn't imagine being on the other end of this. His cousin, not Parker or Alex, had bit him once, but it wasn't the same. Once your a vampire, the toxins don't effect you the same way. But the bite, well, it felt like horror. He never wanted it to happen again. "You see, after a few weeks, my mum didn't know what was going on. He just kept taking blood from her, just like he did with the rest of the females he trapped. My mum, well, she finally got enough air to breathe one night, and she realized that something had gone horribly wrong. She was in pain all over, and she had bite marks all up her neck and arms. She begged to be let go, and she kept attacking him until he just got extremely violent one night..." He trailed off, trying to erase this scene from his mind. His face went a little hard as he tried to explain this one. He didn't want to cry again tonight.

He was about to continue, when a voice was heard at the top of the stairs. He looked over to see Alexandra standing there, face as cold and as melancholy as Joyce's used to be. She wasn't sad, though. She was just extremely cold. It had always been that way. "Are you going to finish that story? Because it ended kind of poorly for your father, don't you think?" Bryce stood up very quickly. He knew this one might happen. Alex walked in, not looking at either of them. "Because of you and your stupid mum, Lucifer lost a ton of power. How many vampires come through here anymore, huh?" She looked Bryce in the eyes, trying to scare him. She had played this guilt card on him many times. But it wasn't his fault that his father raped his mum. It just happened.

Bryce looked at Joyce, wondering what was going through her head. "Yes. My mum was attacked in a horrible way, but I came out of it. She couldn't take a half-vampire and half-wizard to a muggle family and hope that they would accept me. That was why she went back. She still has little to no money, because the scars that this house hides. She can't go get a job because of the way she looks when she's not here. It's... sad, really. But not even a lot of wizarding and medical magic can change the scars from a vampires bite. I still have mine from our little cousin." Scars, due to a magical barrier put on the house, were not shown, because Natalie didn't want to be thrown around anymore. That was why she changed that and put a barrier on the house. She put many barriers and shields around the house. Bryce pulled out his wand, and watched Alex flinch just the slightest bit. She hated everything to do with wizards, but that was another story. He accioe'd a picture album to his hand, and he flipped through it. There was one picture of his mum when they weren't inside the house. She was trying her best to hide herself, but the horrible scars were everywhere on her. You would think that the magical community could forgive that a little, but they still haven't.

Joyce listened intently, curiously, but revolted at the same time. She wore a sad little frown on as he told the story and when he paused in between she looked down, ashamed she'd ask. At least it was him, and not someone else. At least he'd understand. She put a comforting gloves hand on Bryce's shoulder, but yanked it off and scooted behind Bryce slightly when Alex came in. At least it wasn't Parker, though...still...a bit awkward much?

Bryce finished his story and all she felt was hot, bubbling guilt.
"I'm so sorry, Bryce." She whispered, not loud enough for Alex to hear, hopefully.
She put all her emotion and regret into that sorry, hoping he'd understand that she didn't mean to cause him anymore pain. She noted how Alex flinched a bit when Bryce pulled out his wand. Her's was in her pocket. Besides...she couldn't have attacked them if she wanted to, even if they attacked her. She hadn't really attacked anyone, especially not in their own home. It was improper. She looked at the picture album of the scars and felt awful. It reminded her of when Bryce had seen the picture of Rosebud. Well...at least Natalie was alive. That counted for something...still, she couldn't imagine the pain of those scars, and she didn't want to. How Natalie wasn't a Vampire was beyond Joyce, she didn't understand how it worked, and hoped she'd never have to.

Bryce shook his head. He did, after all, come out of that relationship. He was happy he did, because he never would have been alive if that weren't the case. But, Alex felt differently. She actually laughed at what Joyce had said, but the laugh was so cold and heartless that Bryce felt it sting him too. Bryce watched Alex carefully, wondering where she was going with this one. She moved a little closer, not really watching where she was steppping. "Mortals and their emotions. Why feel sorry for someone like him? He hardly suffered out of any of this. Lucifer gave him all of the attention and love he could have ever wanted. My father wasn't nearly as affectionate his he was." Bryce rolled his eyes. Her father, or his Uncle, was dead now, and he was taking orders from Lucifer. "Roll your eyes at me all you want, Bryson. Just remember that within an eye roll, I could probably have your head on a platter." Bryce didn't flinch. It was that kind of humor that they used to throw around at each other. Alex was cold and harsh, but she wasn't nearly as powerful as she made herself seem. She was three years older than Bryce, but she was hardly a threat. She was just a bit scary.

Bryce stayed standing, keeping a body between Joyce and Alex. She wouldn't attack Joyce, just because she was a girl, and Joyce only went after male victims. Since she had been at the house earlier, it was only a sign that they had fed off of a live victim today. He knew that it made her feel more powerful, but it didn't actually do anything for her. Bryce, although three years younger, was still stronger, even as a half vampire. Her strength was always in her words, not her physical strength. "So, why are you hear tonight, anyway? Couldn't find some boy to suck on?" Bryce said this coldly. He had never once taken blood from a human the so-called 'natural' way. He had only ever drank it from a vile, and all of his vampire family members saw that as a weakness. He didn't, though. He never had to feel the way draining someone made him feel, and that was a plus. Alex scowled, and she turned and faced the paintings on the wall that hung in a strange way.

At that moment, there were footsteps heard coming from the stairs. Alex had turned her attention that way, and Bryce had also. Parker came up, and he was never as stealthy as Alex. Or, at least, he never tried to be. Parker had a grin on his face, and he had been staring straight at Joyce. He, on the other hand, enjoyed to drink blood from females. He got that from his father, of course, and from Lucifer. "Now that your psycho mum is out of the way, care to introduce me?" Parker was getting awfully close to Joyce, and Bryce stepped between the two of them. Parker looked offended, but then a grin smeared across his face. "Oh, I see how it is. Finally decided to break ministry rules, huh?" Parker was up to something, and Bryce caught on fast.

"No, Parker. If I break the rules, I'll get kicked out of Hogwarts, and you won't be allowed in this house again." His eyes were dark, and it was as if his coldness had taken over. Alex had taken that opportunity to get closer to Joyce, to stare her down and to try to figure her out. "Alex, ple--... Back up. Now." He was going to be polite, but he caught himself just a little too late. She did, however, listen, and she headed to the couch to sit. She wasn't going anywhere if Parker wasn't.

Without you, the ground thaws, the rain falls, the grass grows.
Without you, the seeds root, the flowers bloom, the children play.
The stars gleam, the poets dream, the eagles fly, without you.
The earth turns, the sun burns, but I die, without you.

She didn't care about Alex, she just seemed to be cruel, nasty. When Bryce asked about finding someone to suck on, she shivered slightly. She didn't want to think about that...and of course, now came the worst.
Parker.
He asked to be introduced and Joyce felt her feet turn to lead, as if they were nailed to the floor. She couldn't curtsy, she couldn't do anything. He was moving closer to her, and she felt cold all of a sudden. It reminded her of Rhiannon. She shivered slightly, and Bryce was talking again. He told Alex to move, and she sat down on the couch. But she didn't leave, and neither did Parker. Things were getting awkward, to say the least. Inside her head, Joyce just prayed that no one else was about to come to the attic, unless it was Natalie. Not Lucifer, not an Uncle, and Aunt, a Grandmother...she didn't think things would get out of hand how they were now, but add another vampire to the mix...she wouldn't pretend she was a bit worried. Not to mention sleeping tonight, she had no idea how that would go, if Parker was so bold to follow them up here.

She couldn't look Bryce in the eyes as if to say get me out of here. She wanted to, but she couldn't. She couldn't curtsy, though it was proper to do so. She just stood there, pale-faced as always, staring at a spot on the floor, eyes fixed on it.

It was one of those moments where everything just felt completely wrong. Alex may have backed up, but Parker had no intention of doing so, quite obviously. Bryce stepped forward, and right at that moment, Alex had stood up and watched carefully. There was something about a vampire that you could just sense the others intentions. Bryce had to keep watching Parker, but he could feel Alex had other things in mind. She stepped closer, and Bryce turned his eyes for just a second. It was right then that everything went completely wrong.

Alex charged and grabbed Bryson so quickly that he didn't see it coming. Just then, Parker quickly went to Joyce, and found his head against her neck. "For such a strange girl, and such a pale one, I've never been so attracted to someone like you." He put an arm around her, grasping her tightly so she couldn't get free. Bryce tryed to yank away from Alex, but she was holding him in a position that hurt to pull away from. It could quite possibly make his arm go numb if he wasn't careful.

Bryce was getting anxious. "Parker, get away from her. Now.." When Natalie was home, that kind of thing just wasn't allowed, but she wasn't up here right now, and God, Bryce wished she was.

Parker let a cold hand graze across Joyce's neck, and he smiled. "Oh, come on now. You know I just want a bite, Bryson. I won't even change her." He stared at Bryson, who was sitting there, helpless. The only thing he could think to do was to call for his mum, and that could make matters worse. Parker could just work more quickly, and he would screw something up when biting. Bryce may have not ever taken blood the barbaric way, but he knew about the way it could effect people, and go terribly wrong. Natalie was a prime example of that. Lucifer went to quickly that he left horrible scars, just because of the blood lust. Bryce had his wand behind his back, and he tried so hard to get his arm free for just a second. One spell would do the trick, even if he missed Parker.

Joyce was glancing between the three of them, eyes lowered and hooded, when it happened. She felt Parker's head by her neck and she froze, eyes wide and scared. She didn't dare move a muscle. She knew that even if he didn't 'change' her, a bite to the neck from those fangs, that bloodlust...it couldn't exactly be good for her. Hell, this was horrible. Her mind was racing, her mouth a tight line, heart beating so fast she was scared that it would burst out of her chest. Bryce told Parker to get away, but he didn't.
His hand was freezing and she shivered and it touched her neck. He was so cold...and forcibly she was reminded of Rosebud's dead, cold hand in hers, her mind was suddenly teeming with memories about the cold dead girl in her arms, about that chill that bit at your heart. She remembered the picture Bryce just showed her of his mother with all those scars and her stomach clenched thinking that might happen to her...
His head was still right by her neck and his arm around her was so tight that she wouldn't be able to get her wand if she wanted to. Her hand struggled towards her pocket, but for all the effort she put in, she might have just done nothing. He was extremely strong, not to mention when she was wearing a corset, she was too weak and thing to do much anything. It must be over...she didn't have any tricks up her sleeve. Bryce was stuck by Alex, and Parker seemed to desire nothing more than to bite her.

She didn't move her head or neck, what if her neck touched his lips or fangs? She moved her shoulders though and stamped on his foot. Again, for all her effort, she must've done nothing. He was too strong, she was just pathetic. She tried to move her elbows, to elbow him in the gut, but couldn't struggle free. She felt like she was frozen with fear and useless, she was trembling and shivering knowing full well that struggling was in vain. She knew it was improper to struggle like this, but what he was doing would've been considered far worse. So two wrongs made a right? Shame on you Joyce...the old-fashioned conscience of hers whispered.
Her mouth must've been glued together, because she couldn't speak or scream either. "Oh dear God please make him let go, please please please I don't wanna be a vampire I don't wanna be cold I don't wanna feel like Rosebud I don't wanna be immortal I just wanna get out of his grip oh please..." She thought in a rush. Get a hold of yourself Joyce...don't let him get to you...do something...
She managed to open her mouth and say in a weak, small voice;
"And I don't have a say in this? How impolite S-sir...I thought you were old-fashioned...still...thank you for the compliment. Oh, and Bryce, be careful if you try and get out of her grip, I don't want you hurting yourself. Not for my sake." She gave Bryce a quick piercing, glaring look as if to warn him not to do anything risky, before of course, her voice died and faded. She didn't know what else she could possibly say, she was just a rag doll in his arms. She didn't want Bryce to get hurt or anything trying to rescue her from this, after all, she was a woman. She wasn't worth it. Her 'blood' that this vampire wanted to speak was hardly of any real value. Still, just saying something, even if it was in a shaky voice made her feel slightly better. She knew it would get him angry, but she did, after all, know all about old-fashioned customs. About needing to ask permission to even touch a maiden, and here she was, her arms pinned by her sides. It might be awful for any girl, but for her, who had been raised that contact between males and females was forbidden, this was traumatizing.

((If he gives her a little bite, if there's just a little blood or something, then that's fine lol. I just don't want her to be a vampire XD ))

[O o c: Lucifer Natalie]

Things were going terribly wrong. He should have never brought Joyce here, and he should have never invited her in the first place. He just didn't know what to do, and that was what was scaring him. But that was the problem, he needed to stop being scared. Bryce could take care of this if he weren't human right now, if he weren't being too mortal. He closed his eyes, listening to Joyce speak, and he looked at her. Those eyes, the ones that rarely looked into his, pierced him, and his vampire side took over for Joyce, just to save her. He knew exactly what to do, and how to handle this one now. Bryce leaned backwards, and stepped right on Alex's ankle. Vampires could feel pain just like mortals, they were just less likely to break something or hurt themselves. But, either way, it worked. He stepped back and he could feel her ankle move under his foot.

She screamed, and Bryce pulled his wand out so quickly. He pointed it at Parker, and he just froze on the spot. "Bryce, you wouldn't use that on family, would you?" he didn't seem too sure of himself. Parker did get up, letting go of Joyce, and backing up. It was common knowledge that Vampires hated magic, unless they had the abilities themselves. Only a few in the clan had them, and they were usually kept pretty separate from the other vampires, but they turned out to be wonderful leaders too. "Come on, just put it down, and I'll leave."

Bryce had no intention of putting it down. "Leave, and then I'll not attack you. Out of the house." His eyes were so dark, and his voice was so cold that even he couldn't believe it was coming out of his mouth. It didn't feel like him, almost, but he knew it had to have been. No one else was there. Parker walked slowly out of there, and Alex, limping just slightly, left too, glaring so deeply, that she probably could have had her face stuck like that for her whole life. Bryce watched them slowly, and he then froze. He felt like a monster, and there was no hiding it. He stood there, lost inside himself, almost as if he were fighting to get the actual Bryce, and contain the other one. His breathing became hard, and his face was frozen in fear. "I'm... lost..." He felt himself let his knees collapse, and he fell onto his side. He was completely gone, or so he thought so. Bryce let memories flood back to him, especially those that he made with Joyce. He had to come back for Joyce, he just had to. There was no way to survive this without her right now. He thought about his mum, and how much he promised to change for her, and that he wanted to be different. Bryce wasn't a monster anymore, and he wouldn't let himself be. He tossed his wand across the room, not wanting to be that offensive person right then. He needed to be the kind-hearted Bryce he knew he was.

Joyce backed into the corner when Parker let her go and she watched with wild eyes when they left. She was still backed up in the corner, frozen with fear, when Bryce said he was lost. She looked at him, just in time to see him fall on his side. Forgetting about being paralyzed and scared, she rushed to his side and put his head in her lap and held his hand in hers. His hand wasn't nearly as cold as Parker's. She smiled a watery, sad smile as she looked down at him.

"I'm so sorry Bryce...I'm so sorry..." She whispered, gripping his hand tightly.
"It's my fault...you attacked your family because of me...it's all my fault..."
She was forgetting about the rule for not keeping in contact considering that his head was on her lap. It was one thing to give a boy a hug, but what she was doing was probably worth burning in hell for or something.
It was like he was in some deep sleep. But..why? Was it because he attacked his family? He went against what he was naturally supposed to want? She didn't understand, though she tried to. She just needed him to wake up. She wasn't sure if they were really going to leave the house, knew they weren't going to sleep...even if he was weaker than all of them, she just felt safer with him being here.
She put her warm hand beside his cheek and looked down at his eyes. She only had really seen his eye color. She didn't even know her mother's eye color anymore. perhaps she still knew Rosbued's, but okay, other than that, it was just Bryce's.

Without you, the breeze warms, the girl smiles, the cloud moves.
Without you, the tides change, the boys run, the oceans crash.
The crowds roar, the days soar, the babies cry, without you.
The moon glows, the river flows, but I die, without you.
