Doing so, Mugen pays the same cost of the technique being countered. This allows the orb to absorb the technique, holding it until the user releases it back on the foe or the orb is destroyed. • The user must be capable of using the chakra imbued into the rank of the technique being cast at the user.
➥ΉV ]NAME: Sphere of the Sage: Transportation | RANK: C | COST: Chakra | ACTIVATION: Chakra Channeling When Mugen uses the Sphere of the Sage, the cost of this technique may be applied atop the parent technique's. If this additional cost is paid, a small seal is formed on the orb. The user, by touching any other sphere created forms a hand sign within three posts, allowing the user to teleport to the orb containing the seal as long as it is within fifteen feet of the user's current location. Doing so destroys the seal on the orb, preventing continuous use. •
➥ΉV ]NAME: Sage's Barrier Technique | RANK: C | COST: Chakra | ACTIVATION: Hand Sign The user takes three orbs, bringing them together in front of their bodies within fifteen feet. With three hand signs, the orbs mesh together in a bright light, forming a larger orb than can either be formed as a half to act as a shield or directly around the user to create a spherical barrier. This barrier protects from techniques of its own rank and lower as well as any physical attacks lacking an actual technique. This shield is maintained up to three posts after its activation and moves as the user does should they desire to step forward or retreat. •

Doing so seals a specific technique within one of the orbs, allowing Mugen to release the technique from the orb at the use of a single hand seal or by the destruction of the orb. •
➥ΉV ]NAME: Spheres of the Sage: Judgement | RANK: B | COST: Chakra | ACTIVATION: Hand Sign Forming six hand seals, Mugen's nine spheres surround the foe from all sides, orbiting them rapidly as they form three foot rods. The rods take shape and impale the target. Three attack horizontally, three attack vertically and three attack diagonally. This technique, if successful will pass through the user, sealing their chakra for three posts, making them unable to use jutsu. After passing through the target, the rods disappear.

Mugen sat up from his cot. His head was ringing as he ran his hands through his dark brown hair. His vibrant green eyes narrowed when the brightness of the room struck him. His mind flashed back to what was either yesterday or perhaps several days ago....
Mugen grimaced as the child he had called comrade fell beside him. " Samara!" He exclaimed as his ally gushed blood from his right arm. The earth jutsu that had taken the limb had left a giant rock directly behind him. The crushed limb poking out from beneath it. This was it, this was how he died. It had to be. The Iwagakure forces enclosed on his location. It was only a matter of time until he suffered the same fate. As they neared, mugen took note of their faces. They were children no older than himself. The earth shinobi were much more skilled than he and his team... his only hope was an miracle... god would save him.... right? No. Mugen knew better. If god would have saved them, that would've meant he could've saved his older brother when he was slain in the war as well. As the leader of the hidden rock forces stepped forward, Mugen's heart began to thump harder and faster. His adrenaline raced and drove his desire to survive to new heights. Raising his hand, the attacker brought it down forcefully to the earth, causing the ground to separate nearly thirty feet in width. The gaping maw would swallow up the corpse of his friend and send Mugen hurtling downward. "NOOOOOO" he screamed in sheer terror as he plunged into the darkness. His hands scraped for anything to secure himself above the bottom of the pit. With luck, Mugen latched on to a stray rock, allowing him to find foot holes shortly after. As he caught his breath. He could hear his enemy leave, satisfied that Mugen had died from the fall. It took Mugen three hours to escape the pit due to his fatigue. After climbing out he found himself staring at the wastelands wondering if there was a higher power... why. Just as his moment of triumph had arrived he felt his world crumbling. It was all worth nothing. Finally, he collapsed, satisfied he had lived quite enough, his surrounding fading to black....
Now here he was. Awake, breathing and in a hospital cot just off the front lines. Having gained some awareness of his surroundings, Mugen noticed these were friendly forces. His brethren. The hidden leaf forces. Relief encompassed him as he pushed himself to a sitting position. "F...father!" He called weakly, knowing his father lead the battalion he was assigned. Maybe he had come to see his fallen son. A doctor moved to his side. " Otosuki, sir, your father has yet to arrive. News of the battle reached him only three days ago"
Mugen paused, still unaware of the passage of time. " how long since I was found?" The medic replied it had been just under a week. Mugen scoffed. His father was too involved in the battle to see him. It wasn't atypical. Just clear where his father's priorities lied. Standing on wobbly legs now, the genin felt his body begin to find its way to a horizontal position once more. " damn it. " he shouted, catching himself. He couldn't believe he was so weak. The first battle of his life and he was beaten so badly... still. He survived. While most saw it as a blessing, Mugen was cursed. He would live with the guilt of not being able to save jos friends.
Several hours passed before he was able to function again. Getting dressed, sliding his green hooded shirt over his bandaged torso. It was time to get back to work, he couldn't be caught resting. Not in this war.
