Alki gave his sister a stunned look. "You know that Thalion has sure changed you yes? Perhaps Dad and Mom shouldn't have approved him as a mate for you. After all you can threaten me all you want and at the end of the day you will have someone who loves you for who you are...and I have no one."

Zaira looked towards the bushes he spoke of, "Oh ok good. No fishies to nibble on our hooves. Why does your father love it so much?" She asked curiously, surely there must be a reason why it is a prized possession.
Schuyler was taken aback by his comment. "I--I'm sorry Alkion. I didn't realize you felt that way. You shouldn't worry though, you'll find someone thats perfect for you. And although Thalion might have changed me a bit, I'm still me. He's just now a part of my life. So...if you wish to pursue Zaira I suppose there's no reason why I should stop you..." She honestly felt bad for her brother, Sky had no idea he felt that way.

"He likes his pond because it has fish in it. And its a place he can go and be himself. In the quiet and peacefulness. It was a refuge for him before he met my mother. She is his perfect match in every way. I don't know if they could have found a better match. Kinda like Enthallion and Taoshira."
"You didn't see that I am lonely too? Well to tell you the truth you are the only one who knows currently. Not even Tylion knows. It mostly bugs me at night. Mother has Father. Tide has Kainda. Tempest is dating Sterling. Ion has Opal and on and on and on. Now you have Thalion and Kai, and I are alone. And he is not nearly as soft as you would think."

"Well its good that someone likes the fish! Schuyler has told me about her parents and how in love they are, and I know how much she loves Thalion. For me at least, it makes me wonder where they found their other half...you know? Maybe not all of us are meant to have someone....maybe we're supposed to be alone..." Zai thought back to the past couple of months that she had lived on her own, sleeping under the stars was nice, just lonely.
"I guess I just didn't think of it. I just assumed that you had someone you liked. I don't think Tylion is dating anyone. He mostly keeps to himself. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have assumed things like that. I'll keep my eyes open for you." She jested, "This Island is filled with beautiful mares, I'm sure we can find you one."

"I know how you feel. It gets so cold at night and it seems like everyone but me Alkion and Tylion don't have anyone to sleep with to keep warm. I would love company at night that doesn't snore or twitch. I think you are only supposed to be alone if you have no drive to find someone. Once you start looking I think someone starts looking for you."
"I haven't met very many likely mares here. It seems this part of the Island is in short supply for mares."

"Perhaps you are right, Kai, though I always hoped that love would find me. Tylion is Schuyler's brother as well right?" Zai was still trying to wrap her head around the family tree, though it was put to the back of her mind, now she was focusing on Kai. He was strikingly handsome and his horn made him stand out from others. "I'm sure the three of you will find someone, if Tylion looks anything like Alkion, they'll find some beautiful mare soon enough, as will you." She stated shyly.
Schuyler pondered for a moment, "Then we'll just have to look! Thalion and I are planning a trip, perhaps you and Tylion should do the same." She suggested.

"It is not all in beauty, its in heart and creativity and a passion for living. Something my parents have a surplus of. Anyway here is the water Zai. Would you care for the honour of the first dip? It is perfectly safe and not slippery at all." Kai could not believe that he was with this mare at the water. He must remember to thank his cousin after. Zaira was so pure and free, it was in fact like taking a dip in a cool pool of water. Especially after heated argument after heated argument about where the pine cones should be dumped, how many fish are actually in his fathers pond, who could jump the highest, who were the best brawlers, (which in fact turned out to be his sub family what with all the morning spar sessions, he had even got lessons from Uncle Hellfyre on morning,) with various cousins, and a certain sister who although blind could always seem to find his lovely ears to nibble on.
"Perhaps we should, it might be nice to get out once in a while but we don't want to give poor mom an anxiety attack with the majority of us gone."

Zaira thought on his words while she dipped her hoof in to test the water. It did feel great just as they had anticipated. Bringing her hoof back out, she started backing up until she was about 10 feet away. Pausing, as if for dramatic effect, she took off running and splashed into the water. Only after she was in did she notice the beautiful waterfall. "It's beautiful!" She exclaimed, waves still rolling away from her body. "Are you going to get in?" She asked Kai, she was sure that some of the splashes must have reached him so she looked at him expectantly.
"Awe, Alki, always looking after mom are you?" Schuyler laughed, "I know what you mean brother, but think about it, we're all adults now so they're going to have to expect us to go off on our own at some point. I'm sure mom and dad will be ok. Who knows, maybe they'll enjoy their time alone!" She bumped Alkion's hip, "If you want to go be with Kai and Zaira you can. I won't blame you since now I know how you've been feeling."

Kai, now dripping stared at her in wonder. She was so full of life, spirit and pizazz it reminded him of the time he had accidentally eaten a bumblebee in a mouthful of clover blossoms. Now that had been a buzz. The bee had eventually flown away no worse for wear leaving a cackling father and a disheveled and stunned Kai in its wake. "Of course I am coming in...especially since I am now already wet." He stepped into the water daintily. He was by no means going to jump in the way she did and somehow squish her in the process.
"By now he will have smoozed her to the point of no return." Alkion said. "I might as well tag along with you. Do you know where Thallion is taking you? Perhaps you could send a likely mare back for me? Does he have a cousin?"

Zai laughed as she proceeded to splash Kai once more. "Are you afraid of the water Kai?" She teased, giggling at his girly steps into the water. "I'm not exactly sure, I think he said something about elven something..." Schuy racked her brain for what exactly Thalion said they were going to do. "I don't think he has a cousin but I'll ask him next time for you, I'm sure he's met many...interesting people."Sorry its so crappy. >< I've been really busy lately.

He rolled his eyes at her, smiled and jumped in.
Shaking out his mane he asked. "Still think I'm afraid?" He was thoroughly drenched and some of his blue mane had escaped the tie and was draped across his face.
Alkion gave her a look...."Interesting people? Interesting like having three heads or something?" The look on Alkion's face was priceless.

Zai laughed as she too shook out her mane. "I suppose not anymore." Since hers was not nearly as long as his, it was quickly almost dry. "So...you just live here with your herd?"
Schuyler snorted, "No stupid. You're so ignorant sometimes." She laughed as she walked on some more, his face branded into her mind causing her to laugh more.

"Yes I do... not that its a small herd at all. We even now have two blankets under the tree. That is basically the nursery and the sleeping place. They are my Uncles children. His second batch actually the rascal." Kai's blue mane swirled in the water. "It's quite cozy under there and by some miraculous feat we all still fit under its branches. It also has a great view of the lake. During storms, sometimes the serpents come and dance." He took a breath. "What about you, where do you come from?"
Alkion gave his sister a flat look. "Oh come on you old stick in the mud."

Zaira listened intently as he described his home. "It sounds like you have quite a big herd after all! Sky hadn't really told me much..." She paused before thinking of the snakes, even just the thought brought a shiver down her hide. "Well...I...hope I'm never there when it storms then..." She looked away, somewhat embarrassed that she had just admitted one of her fears to him.Schuyler looked at her brother before hip bumping him hard and taking off, "Now who's the stick in the mud!" She yelled from ahead of him laughing.

"Oh no they are quite gentle, eating only fish. It is a rare and magical sight to see them dance." Kai sighed as he remembered the last storm. He and his family had stood within their family units and watched....well his sister had listened. "Our herd has grown quite large actually, In fact my Uncle Ion's chosen is having issues trying to fit us all on one family tree sheet of paper." Kai smiled mischeiviously. "It will be more difficult now with all the new pairings. Schuy and Thalion included. I hope Alkion finds a mate too. In fact I am confident he will...dork that he is." Kai laughed.
