She grinned and a small laugh escaped her lips. "Very close. I am five hundred and fourty seven; my village held a birth ceremony for me the week I left. Uri is nearing four hundred himself." Hearing his name, the phoenix sang out a few notes and flew over to perch on Adamina's shoulder, looking at Ireland with one eye. She shifted her shoulder and hushed him in muted elvish before turning to Ireland again. "I am actually highly impressed. Many outside the elvish communities are unable to see past the outward age, so you have no need to appoogize. I am sure many of my students will take issue with being taught by someone who seems so close to age with them." Adamina laughed again, her eyes sparkling, and she settled onto one of the nearby throw pillows. "You're well-versed in the different mythic species, I gather?"

Ireland Weaver Ireland gave a small chuckle. "One must be to teach history."He smiled and streched his leg real quick. "I have scrolls in several mystical written languages. My favorite are the elven ones."He looked over at her. "I doubt students will mind. I just had students ask if I was student as well."He laughed at the last part. He looked over at Uri then back at Adamina. He gave a small smile. "Getting half the scrolls were not easy. I have a scroll from an elder that is still alive. And he talks about all the wars that have happened in his life. It is truly amazing." He couldn't help but notice the sparkles in her eyes. "And you? Are you well-versed?"

She shrugged noncommitally, and shook her head. "I cannot admit to being entirely familiar with works from every species, although most do not regularly compose literature in its more recent definition." Adamina grinned and gestured at the books lining her classroom from floor to ceiling. "At least a quarter of the books in this room are human historic works and classics, and the rest are poems and epics gleaned from one species or another." Suddenly her eyes lit up and she looked at Ireland in excitement. "Would you be opposed to the idea of a project which combined our two classes during some part of the year?"

Ireland Weaver Ireland smiled and sighed. "Well my class needs writing in order to be history."He thought about her question a bit. "I think that it is a grand idea. The students do need to mix. And I need some projects to give students extra chances to make better grades."He looked over at her. "History is always changing. So why not change the future. What sort of project do you have in mind?"

A small laugh escaped Adamina's lips and she could feel a blush rising in her cheeks. "I have not thought that far ahead, Ireland," she said, shaking her head. The idea had just struck her as she had been thinking of the collection in her classroom, which was only a quarter of her entire library. Standing, she crossed to her desk and pulled out a parchment notebook filled with her teaching notes. "Originally, I had thought to have my students read works from different species, none of which can be their own, and ask them to give some form of presentation on the work and what they learned of its background..." Adamina shrugged, biting her bottom lip as she scanned the plans she had made. "I would like for them to work from at least three different mythic groups, if not more."

Ireland Weaver Ireland smiled and sighed. He leaned his head back and scatched. "The big project I have is they have to give a presentation on a group of people or creatures."He got up and walked over to the bookshelf. "Maybe the projects themselves. I can always make extra credit tests for them to take."He walked over to her and Uri. "We could have are students work together. My students do the research. Your students summerize some writings of the group. Then together they give a final presention."He leaned against her desk looking at all the books. Her collection amazed him. Works from so many different people and creatures if she had some. "What do you think?"

Glancing toward Ireland, Adamina nodded her head slowly, thinking over his ideas. "I believe it could work... There would be days where we could combine our classes, perhaps take them to the library so that they all have time together with more resources." She looked at him again, smiling slightly as she saw him looking over her classroom library. "Although I would suggest that everyone does research. Many literary works require at least a basic understanding of the culture and history."For a moment, Adamina paused, thinking over her predominant requirement for her class. Turning so she was facing Ireland, she leaned one hip against her desk. "I had planned on making it a requirement at some point during the course for all of my students to pick a human literary work and present their findings as well as their feelings."

Ireland Weaver Ireland smiled and looked back at Adamina. "I have human books. I would suggest they stay away from Hitlers book though."He thought of all his books and his requirements. Some of his books he wouldn't let students read. Unless they were in a psychology class. "I have a lot of books. One wall with books, another with flags, and one with weapons."He kept thinking of his some of the tasks. "I have one where they study a book, flag, and weapon from a culture."He was enjoying this conversation.

Adamina nodded her head, understanding completely. The smile on her face only grew as she realized she had found another in the castle who shared her love of books. "My collection extends into my office as well as my home here. The classroom set are the less...intense books. And the older, more fragile documents are, of course, kept away from students."She cocked her head to one side slightly, her eyebrows furrowing in mild confusion. "I can understand the necessity of the books in a history class, and even a weapon as each mythic grouping has its own preferences and style of building them, even within different regions, but I admit studying a flag confuses me."

Ireland Weaver Ireland smiled and gave a small laugh. "A flag gives so much about the culture."He thought a bit. Which flag would be the easiest to explain. "During the time of slaves escaping they had a flag with a rattlesnake on it."He looked at her. "The slaves had a chant saying 'Don't tread on me'."He looked forward. "The rattlesnake was a deadly snake that gave a warning. 'Don't tread on me' they were not going to take it anymore. The slaves were done. Now it is the Tea party flag in the US."He looked back at her. "A flag tells a story that flows with history."

"I suppose that does make sense," Adamina said slowly, turning the idea over in her mind. She had never encountered many flags outside of tales of war, but the principle itself was easy enough to understand. "Most elves do not use flags except in war, and even then they are used for signalling more often than not. The older families in the larger cities have sigils and seals to represent them, which could be a parallel to the flags."

Ireland Weaver Ireland smiled. "Humans have flags that represent nations, families, parties, even sports."He thought about what she said on the sigils and seals. "Yeah. Those would parallel flags."He was really enjoying the company and being able to a have a conversation. "Enough about flags. What is the oldest book or scoll you have?"

Taking a few seconds to think, Adamina stared at her bookshelves. "The oldest works I have are from the beginning of elvish history, but the scrolls themselves are newer. All elves who finish studies in the written word are given copies of those scrolls." She shrugged, reaching up to pet Uri gently as she thought. In her head, she flipped through all the works she owned, remembering the dates inscribed on the scrolls. "I do have one scroll, an original, that dates back over two thousand years." She looked at her companion, perched comfortably on her shoulder. "The first discovery of the phoenix by the elves."

Ireland Weaver Ireland smiled at Uri and Adamina. "The oldest originals I have are letters. They date over two thousand years of age." He thought about the letters. "The letters are from an old ancestor mine. Close friend to Julius Ceaser." He smiled and shook his head. "Brutus killed a great man. But I understand keeping letters and old documents safe." He walked over to her and Uri at the bookshelf. "I think I have a copy of that." He looked at the writing of the scroll on the outside. "No I don't thats odd." He shrugged his shoulders. A peice of history that he didn't have. "I guess I can look around for it. If other copies are around. But the letters are a good to read. Also shows a secret treasure that is in Rome, Italy."

She nodded and shuffled her phoenix down to the desk, stroking his head gently and murming to him in elvish. "Feel free to borrow anything in the collection. I am sure you can be more trusted than the majority of my students."
