I would like to take this opportunity that a Slayer army player I know has found a way to make a lord that can kill bloodthirsters, Valten, even archaon without the need of lucky rolls...

I want to start a dwarf army as well, any advice one them? I'm going to pick up the new codex when it comes out.

With Dwarf armies you want a good soild centeral unit.Either Iron breakers or the New longbeards(in the new rules they will quell panic).Scouts are good and so are Crossbowmen(dwarfs?).Try and avoid the usual tactics of clumping up in one spot.
I find that if you have an army thats 50/50 shooty combat,that seperating them to either corner can be a good defenes.
I love my bearded midgits.

I heard that the new dwarfs were planned to have a december-january release. Does anyone know where I could get definative dates?

as for the bothans, that's all they're good for. rolleyes
Will the releases be on the same dates stateside?

Anyone else planning on picking up the new dwarfs?
The battalion ( 24 warriors ,16 thunderers, armybook choice of organ gun or cannon) looks like a good deal.

I'll be getting the army deal.
32 Warriors,16 Thunderers,Lord,Runelord,Engineer,BSB,10 Slayers,Grudge thrower,Cannon/Organ GUn and rule book.
You save a bunndle with that deal.

The background in the rule book is long if a bit undetailed,but thats not to bad.
I've made a list using most of the box and some of my own stuff;
Lords
Lord with sheild bearers,sheild,rune of Skalf Blackhammer,rune of Speed and rune of spite(=298
Heros
Thane with Battle Standard bearing the Rune of Valaya=190
Rune smith with sheild and rune of stone=77
Core
20 Dwarfs with hand weapons and sheilds and full command=205
20 Dwarfs with hand weapons and sheilds and full command=205
15 Thunderers and full command=235
20 Quarrellers and full command=245
Special
14 Hammerers with sheilds and full command=236
Cannon with engineer=105
Grudge Thrower with egineer=95
2 bolt throwers with one egineer=105
Total 1996
What do you think?

i just got one of the new rune lords and saw the army book , it showed dragon and deamon slayers as the guys you get in the command blister of the troll slayers , so i guess i have one !

Fairly balanced force there, decent magic defense, but beware of hard-hitting armies, Ogres and Chaos come to mind, if they reach your lines, then you've got major trouble.
