It was almost dead. Gale crouched low behind the couch, lifted the gun, pointed it, and fired.
Bang.
With another whooshing noise again, the wispy creature dissipated, Gale straightening and taking a step back, away from the couch. The body of the fallen hunter was still there - he'd have to move it somehow - but the creature was gone and the living room was clear.
Now to the next room.

The kitchen was clear as well, much to his surprise - though he wasn't complaining at all. Gale's eyes flickered briefly over the small space before he moved on to the next room.

Another creature, this one significantly smaller than the last. Gale lifted his rifle, took aim, and fired, easily blasting away the little thing.

Yet another one of these small annoyances, found upstairs in the bathroom. This one was easily dissipated with one shot from Gale's rifle as he passed by, moving towards the second bedroom.

Another creature, lurking in the closet of the second bedroom. Gale pushed open one of the doors and took aim, but the creature took off, bounding across the room as the bullet hit the back of the wall instead.

The bullet almost missed - this thing was stupidly (and annoyingly) fast as it bounded around the bedroom, hissing obnoxiously - but Gale managed to give it a glancing blow anyway.
