lol, you like Jack off Jill? I never met anyone who's heard of them. They only people I know that know of them are my boyfriend, and my friend Joe. (Joe introduced me to them..lol)

I learned of Jack Off Jill from my first bf way back when and then I got more into them when my friend from 1st semester of my Freshman year made me of a mix of their songs and now I really like them. I listen to them all the time, but lately I've been listening to Apocolyptica. I can sing like Jessicka! I just can't scream, I'm naturally quiet. ^^;

Poi Poi
What's your poison?

Which artist do you enjoy the most, a good listing wouldn't hurt either.

By far, favorite band of all time: Dir en grey.

I am a fairly big jrock fan, and I listen to some jpop, too. Among the jrock artists I love Dir en grey (of course), Kagerou, Malice Mizer, Moi Dix Mois, + D'espairs Ray +, X Japan, Hyde, L'Arc~en~Ciel, Psycho le Cemu, Penicillin, Kana, Metronome, Onmyouza, Pierrot, Polysics, Plastic Tree, Quruli, Schwarz Stein... Really the list goes on and on, and not in that particular order... I'm sure I'm forgetting some bands... But you must get the picture by now. I'm a jrock junkie.

As for jpop, I actually enjoy Ayumi Hamasaki, though I know many do not, and T.M.Revolution is a favorite as well. Ano... Once again, there are more... Actually I like jpop more than what this short list does justice for. But I'm not nearly as much of a jpopper as I am a jrocker...

Oh yeah. And I like Moon Hee Jun and Silver Ash.

Outside the Asian music scene, I usually listen to rock music. Light, heavy, numetal, buttrock, punk, you name it. But it's usually rock. That and techno, usually trance. Not really much of a hip hopper or a rapper... OR a pop fan... though there has been the occassional song I can enjoy. I listen to: 3 Days Grace, AC/DC, Adema, Aerosmith, AFI, Blink-182, Breaking Benjamin, Bush, Chevelle, Cold, Crossfade, Dave Matthews Band, Disturbed, Evanescence, Godsmack, Guns 'n' Roses, Good Charlotte, Hoobastank, Judas Priest, Kittie, KoRn, Led Zeppelin, Linkin Park, Marilyn Manson, Megadeth, Metallica, Mudvayne, NIN, No Doubt, Orgy, Offspring, Ozzy, Pink Floyd, Queen, Queensryche, Rammstein, Rob Zombie, Slipknot, Styx, Sugarcult, Sum 41, System of a Down, Tool, Van Halen, Zeromancer, The Rasmus... Yes I used a list for all that; I have way too many mp3s... Let's see, what else? Savage Garden... Ace of Base... Smile.dk... Eiffel 65... Wolfsheim... Ilo... And I swear to you there's more!

I even listen to Enigma and Enya.

... How, I must have NO LIFE or something... sweatdrop

Oh yeah, and there are a couple not-so-well-known bands I enjoy: Crooked, from California, and Prozack Staple, from Seattle. You heard or seen?

Yay, bands. :3

I'll just list a few of my favorites right now... there would be more Japanese things, except for the simple fact that I can't download atm and I'm too broke to buy the 35$ CDs from Kinokuniya. So, I'm limited mainly to only what I can get from the local indie music store.

Bands:
Silverchair, Marilyn Manson [Mechanical Animals era mostly], Malice Mizer, Orgy, A Perfect Circle, Placebo, On The Rocks [a capella group from University of Oregon], The Faint, uh.... yeah. Bunches of stuff. I also like MiniMoni, Air, Morning Musume, Gacktjob, Shania Twain, the Spice Girls, Geri Halliwell, Jewel, Tori Amos, No Doubt, Thee Michelle Gun Elephant, Rammstein, SubZonic [swiss-german crossover], Eiffel 65, etc.

now is forever

I like a lot of doom metal, those are probably the ones you haven't heard. 3nodding

And I'm like the only person here who isn't into Jack Off Jill.

Haha, I have the least 'goth' musical tastes here it seems. xd
My musical taste is so messed up sometimes, honestly.

Asian music: GLAY, hide, Orange Range, Namie Amuro, Ayumi Hamasaki, Psycho le Cemu, Gackt, Spiky, Kanjani 8, F.I.R., S.H.E., Seagull Screaming Kiss Her Kiss Her, X Japan, Hyde (solo), Dir en Grey, Kaggra, baroque, TMR, Nami Tamaki, Ai Otsuka, Kana, Wyse, Kome Kome Club (dorky I know), Miyavi, Tetsu69, Dragon Ash, Witches, BoA, B'z, Tak Matsumoto Group (well, english?)....etc etc others

English: A Perfect Circle, Madonna, No Doubt, Gwen Stefani's solo stuff, The Clash, The Darkness, The Sex Pistols, Maria Mena, The Birthday Massacre....ah.....duh....others.... xp

Yes, I've heard scarling. I personally like them much more than JOJ... I've got all of their records and the CD versions too. Saw them live in January... they were pretty amazing, and the new tracks sound great. heart

I would probably listen to them if I could find how to 'sample' their music. If you happen to have a site where I could sample the music and/or get the CDs that would be great. ^-^;

Also, I haven't heard Scarling.

I like a lot of bands, but music isn't a huge part of my life, I like it, but I'm not good with band names, song names, or anything, I'm suprised I could list the ones I did. ^^; I'm more of a fashionable Bunny. razz

~Hunting~ Linky linky linky... Gotta find that linky...

A-HA!

http://www.projectj.net/direngrey.htm - Offers an general idea of what the band is like and serves up "Cage" as a sample song. This was where I first found out of Dir en grey. I'd just like to say that it does take more than one song to get... "used to"... Dir en grey's sound. They've been a varied, experimental group. But "Cage" is a good start.
