"Bodyguarding sounds much more exciting than being an acupuncturist." Jezabroux mused. "Perhaps I should consider that field of interest when I lose interest in my current occupation." He doubted it, but the idea of being a body guard wasn't that bad an idea. Well, except maybe the dangers attached to a lifestyle like that. If he got hurt, who would take care of Luka?
"That's completely fine. I share my apartment with... a boy. So, he will be there as well." He was going to say Raevan, but figured it was best to leave it simple. And, then do the explanation later when Phiel actually saw him. It was already hard enough to explain a floating half torso being without having people draw the wrong conclusions. "Just, don't freak out when you see him." The man said with a slight sigh. "He's not quite exactly... normal. Or, he is normal mentally but... his appearance can be shocking at first glance." First glance and every single glance after that, was the more appropriate phrase.

"I don't know that I'd call it 'exciting'," Phiel said mildly, shaking his head and shrugging. "It's brutal sometimes, but usually the physical bits are well-expected." He self-consciously fingered a newer scar on the outside of his forearm.
However, when the subject shifted to their charges, he chuckled a little, arching one greyed brow. "Freak out, huh? Well... I'll have to ask the same of you. My girl is... well, not human, that's for sure. She's... hm. Well, if I said the word 'raevan', would you have any clue what I meant?" The word, still unfamiliar to his tongue, was very carefully pronounced. As much as Phiel was expecting him not to recognize it either, it wouldn't surprise him too much if Jez did. After all, they'd both wound up coincidentally on this little stretch of beach at the same unholy hour of the morning after having not seen each other for how many years now?; what was another little coincidence? Although he supposed that'd be a bigger one, it wasn't outside the scope of imagination.

When Phiel said the word Raevan, Jezabroux couldn't help but break out into an incredulous laugh. What were the chances of that?
Not only had he run into his high school swim rival at the crack of dawn on this beach, but now Phiel was telling him that he was in charge of a Raevan as well?! Raising a hand to massage his temple, the acupuncturist couldn't help but chuckled some more. "Um... Wow. Yes, I do. I'm also familiar with Lab 305 and fel essences. The boy I was talking about earlier, he's a Raevan as well. He turned two years old this August actually." The man explained. "His name is Luka. I suppose, this means that you now have to come over for dinner or lunch sometime." He couldn't help but laugh again, clearly experiencing some shock over what was happening.
"Small world..." The man said slowly.

Phiel couldn't help letting out a quiet bark of laughter, rather amused and delighted to find this out. "Hah! My girl's name is Zurine," he admitted with a grin. "The world's smaller than I ever expected. Zurine's two as of this past February... How'd I not know you were part of the Lab? I'll gladly come over. Maybe they've met already; I couldn't tell you when, though. Maybe during the garden party...? Just a week or so ago... Were you there?"

"Zurine? That's quite an exotic name. Wonder what she looks like." The man mused. "That's actually a good question. I mean, I should've seen your name on that lab guardian directory sheet they gave me when I adopted him. Wow, I can't believe this is really happening." When the other mentioned the garden party, Jezabroux nodded. "We were there. We arrived a little late, but we were there. I wonder if he has met her. He hasn't said anything to me. Then again, he was pretty disturbed after coming out of that maze." The man let out a chuckle. Whatever happened to the Satyr in the maze, he would never know. Luka had made it quite clear that he wasn't going to discuss anything.
"I mean, wow. When would you like to come over? I'm free all this week so. Are there any special arrangements I should make for Zurine as well? I know they feed differently..." He wanted Phiel and Zurine to feel comfortable when they came over for dinner. "And, I would appreciate it if you let me know about any allergies you have."
He was thinking of Thai food. It was something different. "You wouldn't mind Thai food would you? Or I could make something else."

"Well, maybe it's there and we just didn't notice it," Phiel said with a shrug. "I can't really describe Zuri, other than that she looks and feels like the middle of a snowstorm with a heart like a summer sun." He couldn't help the expression of affection on his face, and he smiled ruefully once the maze was mentioned. "I signed up Zurine for that... not the wisest choice I've ever made regarding her, though. Poor thing can't handle the heat... she does feed on cold, though. Ice cubes, unflavored snowballs, things like that."
He scratched his head a little thoughtfully, the salt making his scalp itch a little bit. "Mm, tomorrow afternoon for dinner? I'm not allergic to anything, and if you're willing to cool things down for Zurine a bit, I think she'd like that a lot. I'm pretty easygoing with things... even though I haven't had a dinner out in awhile." He chuckled a little, small and genuine; the fine wrinkles at the corners of his eyes and the scar between them scrunched up with his smile. "And it's been even longer than that since I had Thai. I'll bring dessert?"

From the warm expression Phiel had when he spoke about Zurine, Jezabroux couldn't help but give a warm expression off as well. He could understand the affection that man felt for his charge. He held that same kind of affection for Luka.
"Snowstorm with the heart of a summer sun... That's an interesting way of describing her." Suddenly, he was all the more excited to have Phiel and Zurine over at his house for dinner. "Ice cubes? Well, then. Providing for her won't be so bad after all. I thought you'd say something like... something not like ice." The man finished lamely.
"That's fine. And, that can be arranged for the little lady." He chuckled as well when Phiel mentioned bringing dessert. "If you want. I'm not forcing you. If anything, it'll be a pleasure in itself having dinner with an old rival. And hopefully, the Freis will play nicely by themselves." Luka would probably behave himself, but then again... the Satyr never made any guarantees. "I should probably give you my phone number so I can give you my address..." The acupuncturist mumbled, patching down his pockets searching for his phone.

Laughing a little, Phiel shrugged just a bit. "Zurine is surprisingly easy to provide for," he said softly, looking back up the beach to where his house was. "And I'm less picky than I could be about most things. Do you like hot fudge brownies and such?" He felt good, establishing contact with another old acquaintance. They had never been friends as such, but he thought they could be now, if he was lucky. He just hoped that Zurine and Luka would get along; she hadn't mentioned meeting him, but then again he hadn't exactly asked about it, really.
"I think it will definitely be a pleasure. Er, I left my phone in my car. I'll give you my number, and you can text your address to me?"

"Hot fudge brownies and such are perfectly fine." The acupuncturist replied, a smile on his face. "I'm not exactly a picky man when it comes to desserts. If there is something, I shall partake." When Phiel made the suggestion of giving Jezabroux his number and having the acupuncturist text him, he nodded. "That's fine."
Unlocking his phone he waited for the man to cite the number.

Giving him the number, Phiel couldn't help it as a jaw-splitting yawn took him over, making his eyes water and the cords of his neck ache dully. He was utterly exhausted. Once the yawn had eased up, he finished giving the numbers.
"For now, though, I think I have got to drag my carcass into bed," he admitted, apologetically. "I'm absolutely exhausted."

Saving the number to his phone, Jezabroux gave the man an apologetic smile. "I've kept you from your sleep. It was nice meeting you. I'll send you a text later today with the time and address for my house." Giving the body guard a wave, Jezabroux made his way towards his car.
Today was going to be a good day. He could just tell.
After a coincidence like that, there was no way that today wouldn't be good.
