Following her through the opening in the line of trees - he could see how finding it would be tricky; they almost created the illusion of a closed space - Bedwyr brightened when she took his offer to instruct her. But when she went running ahead, his words disappeared into nothingness. Not only was the grove beautiful, but the world around them seemed to still as she twirled in the middle of the space, the gurgle of the lake's tide on the rocks giving music to her dance. She enthralled him, the otherworldly creature that she was, all grace and ringlets and glow in the moonlight... But then she stilled and the heart of the world began to beat again. Or had it been his heart that had stopped? Bedwyr was uncertain.
As she went to the water's edge, his ears slowly translated her voice into the words she had spoken, as though his mind were too mesmerized by her to do two things at once - watch and listen. "There is something about this place that is some kind of bewitching," he replied as he stepped up beside her, hooves clacking on the pebbles. "Its inhabitants included." The compliment applied so naturally to her that he did not even think about the implications of speaking it aloud; the words just fell from his lips. He looked down at their reflections in the water, hers so dark it seemed almost indistinguishable to him from his angle, but for her hair.
"It would be no burden, Hakumei," he said, turning his gaze from the water to try to catch her downcast eyes. His stomach gurgled once more, bringing a rueful smile to his face. "But I do insist on eating before we begin, and perhaps finding a subject to practice on. Is there a certain place that you eat to refrain from disturbing the grass? It looks to be in good condition for having a soquili around."

Quote: Hakumei watched the water slide over the pebbles, leaving the stones slick and shiny. She watched the water distort her reflection and glanced to the water's edge near Bedwyr. The male's presence seemed so natural here. It was as if his being was a piece of the secret grove. His reflection in the water serene and strong. The thought had her smile. Did he mention inhabitants? Inhabitants? Lavender curls whipped around as she looked to see who may have made residence here. Light eyes scanning the grounds for any sign of disturbance. Confused, Hakumei only saw a few signs of entry into the almost sacred place. It dawned on her that he could have meant her. A deep red blush formed. Food? Oh yes, food. He was hungry. Her mind started to fire again. Her voice didn't want to follow and it took a minute before she could form words. "I...I tend to eat over at the edge of the trees, over this way."Quickly the little glow sprites turned to follow Hakumei as she trotted towards a good area to settle for food. "Please enjoy." She moved closer to the trees to give him room. Learning to use her breeds gifts... She never honed the skills that were meant for her kind. A subject to practice on.... where would they find someone. There were plenty of animals around but to know if they were injured. Her light eyes went to the glow sprites. No they wouldn't work. Her mind drifted again, thinking about the possibilities.
