Alces quietly followed Muris closely. Every once in a while he would check behind them. He was concentrating so hard on trying to see anything that he didn't realize his invisibility spell was just about to wear off. The second it did he froze, looking like a deer caught in the headlights of a car, or in his case, an elk. Slamming himself against the wall and looking everywhich way, he looked like he was about to panic before he calmed himself down and cast a second spell on himself. This one though, was the chameleon rather than an invisibilty one. This would allow Muris to see him better if she needed to.
Slowing down his breathing again, and making it quieter he started after Muris again, staying as close to the wall as he could, and trying not to scrape either one of his antlers.

She gave them both time to move down the corridor - watching as the male once more revealed himself. They were Sun Court; they positively radiated 'goodness' and she sneered. She fingered the darts she held, sliding down behind them, keeping to shadow as much as possible, as she bided her time. She realised that they had to be here for the child; she hoped that one of her fellow Court would be with her, but if not - well she was sure she would be capable.

The mouse noticed her companion's shift from invisibilty to camouflage, and noted it for reference's sake. Still silent, she kept to the shadows where she could remain all but invisible, avoiding the torchlight itself as they approached the section of hallway it was in.
They were definitely in an unused territory. She'd never seen anything like it, but the cobwebs were enough to declare it as vacant. Still, it was closer to the entrance, and she supposed that the closer to the entrance they got, the more likely they would find a used territory and from there find where Winny was being kept.
Too much guesswork for her own tastes, but there was nothing to be done for it. Easily avoiding the light, Muris continued down the hallway until she reached a rather large, open room. There were fewer cobwebs in it, and so she assumed she was getting closer. She kept to the wall, avoiding torchlight in the middle of the room as best as she was able.
((That's okay, I have to go too. I have a PreCalc test tomorrow to study for and a quiz due tonight. >_<))

Sticking close to the wall, Alces remained close behind Muris. The Fey was still keeping watch of the area's behind them and off to the sides. He figured Muris would be sure to notice something if it was in front of them. He still failed to notice Aranea, not even thinking that Fey of the moon would be in this part of the castle at this particular time. If only he knew how wrong he was...
He glanced down at himself and how he appeared to be stone, much like the wall. Shaking his head to himself he took to guarding their little two person group once again, shuddering at all of the cobwebs. He wasn't particularly fond of spiders.
((And that's very good timing...because I too...have to go. ))

Aranea trailed her nails along the stone wall, eliciting a scraping sound as she did so. She was concealed, secure in this knowledge and could not resist spooking the two intruders before her. She felt the brush of cobweb, their movements having disturbed a long since abandoned web. She ignored it, following them still, pausing to check her bearings for even she had not explored all the Castellum had to offer. She believed them to be growing nearer to the living quarters...she would need to make her move soon. Once more she twitched the darts she held, ducking swiftly into an alcove and listening for any conversation they might carry out.

The assessment was a good one.
The living quarters were farther ahead... all save one. The one that needed to be kept shrouded in darkness, away from the sun. Feles stepped out of a door ahead of them, pulling it closed behind him and looking down to the papers he held in his hands. Sifting through them once more, he made certain that he had everything. It wouldn't do to fulfill a duty, only to screw up at the last moment by leaving part of it on his desk.

Muris caught her breath when the rather beautiful woman stepped out of the room in front of her. Scurrying back a bit, the mouse kept herself hidden in the shadows while she watched her..a second later, she realized that the woman wasn't actually a woman at all but a young man. It took a bit of effort to manage not to blush at her mistake, but this was a Moon Court creature, and it wasn't as though she ever intended to talk to him anyways. He would never know of her mistake at all.
Still, the man made her quite nervous. When she spotted the ears, she got a vague idea of why-- for some reason, he struck her as very catlike, and the mouse in her twitched at it. Slowly, she backed away to where she could take a few deep breaths without, hopefully, alerting the man to her presence.

Alces, who was still nearly glued to the wall and under the protection of his chameleon spell watched Muris for a moment, wondering what might be wrong. It didn't take long for him to see Feles stepping out in front of them. Having no idea who this was, and what he could possibly be doing here, of all places in the castle he moved himelf even closer to the wall, taking a few slow steps back as well. His eyes immediately drifted to Muris, worried that she may be spotted, and by a Moon Fey that appeared to have the totem of a cat. He was sure any Moon Court Fey would be bad, but of all Totems...a cat.
The man began to tell himself that Muris would be okay, she knew what she was doing, and to his knowledge no one had spotted them yet...but there was this scraping sound, a rather unnerving...scraping sound. Alces took another step back and searched everywhere that he could see from where he stood; trying to keep one eye on the teen in front of them.

Aranea slid to the front of the alcove, her nails still scraping the stone. She held her breath as she emerged again, curious as to why they appeared to have stopped. Looking past them her heart jolted, Feles! She bared her teeth; would the male Sun Court Fey attack him? If he did it would go badly for him - she would make sure of that. She slid a dart into her primary right hand, ready to take down the female...she reasoned that the drug would affect her quicker, and that she would be easier to contain.

The rustle of papers reached the cat's ears... and something else. Feles swivelled one ear towards the hallway, freezing in place as his eyes narrowed. Even his tail stopped moving, except for the very tip, which twitched from side to side as if in anticipation.
Something was down here... but what? No one EVER came along this corridor, unless they were visiting him. And no one visited. Slowly, his head turned to match the direction his ear was pointing, the cat's pale pink eyes adjusting to the darkness as his pupils widened into dark spheres. "Who's there..." he said softly, his voice unwavering even though it was barely above a whisper. The precious papers were slid into one hand, the other dropping to his side as he flexed the claws at the tips of his fingers. His stance widened slightly as the claws on his toes dug against the stone beneath him, giving him a better grip if this turned into a fight-or-flight situation.

((Note: for RP purposes, when Muris falls into enemy hands, Alces in the confusion, will be able to get to the tower and snatch Winny away. As Winny's current GMFC guardian and Neith are no longer together, I want that part resolved quickly. Muris will then become the person to rescue. biggrin ))

Muris' breathing became heavier as she fought to control panic at the cat turning to face her. She knew he couldn't quite see her or he wouldn't have asked who was there, but...she still felt very much like a mouse caught in the middle of a room with a cat.
Be calm, be quiet, he'll go away. He just thinks there's someone here. He'll move on if you just stand -still- the words became a litany in her mind. There was no description for just how badly she wished she could disappear at that moment.
And there was this headache-inducing scratching noise as well. What was -wrong- with this castle? The Moon Court didn't seem to be pleasant people, but couldn't their castle at least be somewhat normal, without the cobwebs everywhere and giant cats and scratching noises?

Not having any intentions of attacking the man just yet, sort of hoping he would just walk the other way, Alces remained quiet as well. He thought that if he so much as moved it could give away their position. Though he might have thought differently if he knew they had already been spotted and were being watched. Alces, as quietly as he could, slowly inched his way closer to Muris, then farther away...then closer again. He couldn't seem to make up his mind. Eventually he settled on staying where he was.
The Fey glanced behind them again to make sure no other little surprises had shown up recently. That scratching noise had to be coming from somewhere, or more like, something.

Aranea thought to show her hand. She had a degree of skill in detecting concealed persons, and she could just see Alces' shifting movement. He stopped, and she thought that he might be about to make some aggressive move. She hissed, a long exhalation and revealed herself fully, the dart held betwixt two fingers as she readied to strike. 'You are seen...leave this place!' she exclaimed, throwing her words at them with a cold, hard spin.

Feles' lips curled in a snarl. That was Aranea's voice... and she wouldn't be speaking to HIM. There was someone in the hall and it was NOT anyone he knew. That was when he caught the scent.
MOUSE.
Fey, courts, whatever... let it all be damned. Instinct took over as a low growl started in his throat. The mouse was HIS! The papers were forgotten, sliding to a heap on the floor as he crouched down, one hand braced in front of him to give him a steadying base. Aranea was down there... he could see her now. And as his eyes adjusted fully, he saw a flash of lighter colour... that had to be the intruder. If he moved now, he MIGHT reach his target... or come very close to it.
A sound akin to a feline war cry left his throat as he leapt forward, using every bit of strength he had to propel himself towards his quarry.
((Fair warning... Feles is not that strong. At ALL. However, he IS fast. I left it open ended for Shiaree to determine if he actually lands on her or not. xd ))
