The Ninth almost two thirds, but it didn’t matter, she was still far from her goal. The closer she got, the harder things would become for her. Lan had no doubts about that.

Ten, she was two thirds done. Yet five trinkets remained. Five little things that would stand in her path. She’d get them, but… she still had to watch herself. One mistake could cost her everything.

Another safe zone, Lan held her breath as she recounted the trinkets in hand. Ten. Five to go. She could do this, maybe. She’d not looked down, the kettle and tea remained as they were. Lan would just have to remain as she was, in control.

Finally, her 11th trinket. Looking around her, the safe zone were still close. She’d use them if need be. Now to just find the last four she needed.

12, three left, they were getting harder to find, and the kettle felt like it was getting heavier. Of Invictus was attempting to push her. Or her mind was playing tricks on her. All were valid really.

Fourth with ten. One remained in the course so she might pass. Though her cousin would no doubt expect more. As many as possible. That was her goal.
