His hesitation was dully noted, and Yuri's brows rose in a slightly pitying look. Luke definitely needed a pick-me-up, but he wasn't entirely sure how to go about that.
"All right, then. I know a good place. Have any favorite fruit?"
With that, Yuri began to lead the way. Maybe some small talk would get the boy to relax a bit.

He followed readily, but the unexpected question gave him some pause. "Oh, uh… Peaches, maybe…?" Why was it that all memory of his preferences vanished whenever he was faced with a question about them? Not as though he disliked peaches, of course; he wasn't sure if they were indeed at the top of the list, but certainly they were close.

Yuri was amused, and it showed on his face. "Maybe? All right, peaches it is this."
And eventually, the man led the both of them to a crepe stand. Cause well, crepes are just damn good you know. Ordering some for the both of them, peaches and cream for Luke, and banana and kiwi for himself. He also footed the bill, deciding that while Luke was a noble and had a ton of moment... the kid could still stand to not have to think about it.
With crepes in hand, he would give Luke his and direct him to a table.

Any confusion that resulted from the offhanded question was assuaged as Luke understood the nature of their destination. Though grateful for the gesture, he felt equally guilty for letting his friend pay his share. It didn't seem like the matter was up for discussion, though, so he accepted it with a quiet word of thanks for the item that was put in his hands and moved towards the indicated table to seat himself.
