Tekashi snarled at the word heiffer but then started and stood still as the little cow picked out her one worry about herself. Her pale nearly unmarked coat, for a female she was rather bland and oddly colored, not exactly feminine at least she didn't think so, and they said this in front of her own heart, the one azrein who's opinion actually matter to her...Atlas.
"I...I" she stuttered unsure what to say, pain flashed in her eyes as she glanced at Atlas.

Atlas didn't care that he was called a dog. He didn't about owners or bonded or whatever else this mare called her human. He did care, however, about Tekashi. The first insult thrown made Atlas's expression go blank. Had the mare really just said what he thought she said? Each new word in the flurry of insults and demands caused something to stir inside him. Something dark.
His father had always told him to fight with anger, with vengeance, but Atlas had never really understood what that meant. He had never been truly angry before. But hearing the love of his life insulted like that, seeing the pain flash in Tekashi's beautiful blue eyes drew that dark, sinister emotion out of him. Hatred. Anger. Vengeance. A true desire for the complete destruction of something.
Killing intent practically radiating off of his frame, he spun and charged at the insult-throwing mare with rage filling his dilated, purple eyes. He would crush every bone in her pathetic little body, starting with her jaw. Maybe he'd stomp on her tongue for good measure. She would never be able to speak ill of his beloved Tekashi ever again. He would make sure of it.

Her bonded had also told her once to recognize when to fight and when to retreat. A lesson Amber had never learned very well. She could hear Lan growling in her ear, exasperation and panic in his voice. She could see the pain in the other mare's eyes and the huge azrein grew even bigger, his eyes filled with unrestrained rage. This wasn't just another mission, this wasn't an adventure; this was real, very real danger. Her eyes grew wide as the stallion started charging toward her, she only had time to say "Lan! Run!" as she twirled around and ran as fast as she could toward the safety of the trees, I can outrun him! She thought, she hoped...

Lan had just opened his mouth to tell her to run when she shoved his own words back in his face and took off. Well at least she didn't stand and watch he thought as the big stallion came closer.

Atlas didn't slow. He continued to charge after the fleeing mare, ignoring Lanthiron completely. He was going to catch her. Catch her, crush her, and kill her. He would avenge his precious princess, give her pain to the one who had inflicted it one hundred fold. It was a bit odd, running while enraged. He could see the obstacles ahead, but his mind saw only his target. His body instinctively dodged dangers in his path, but his purple gaze remained fixed on he one who would suffer his wrath. Intelligent thought and rationality were gone, at least for the moment. Tekashi had not given the command to attack, but he could not call himself her knight if he didn't leap into battle to protect her. He would defend his princess's honor--and destroy those who defiled it.

Tekashi swallowed hard and watched as Atlas ran after that fiend like hellhounds bayed on his trail. A little voice in the back of her mind, behind her shattered heart, mused that she had never seen him run so fast. He was running down that mare for her. Her heart swelled and she swore she could feel the newly inflicted wound there stretching.
She mouthed his name, Atlas. He would grind that infernal female into the ground, he would. Well she could help by going after the female's male. She was sure that was the only reason for the big scarred Lanthiron to be here with that annoying ..fancy...beautiful priss.
A fire began to burn in her own heart and just as she turned blazing eyes on Lanthiron. He began to race off after the other two. He was much faster then her. She could give chase and loose all her dignity if someone found them all thus. One after another in a snarling, twisting, conga line. Or she could wait and sort through this new..deeper level of love. She knew she had loved Atlas before, enough to lifemate to him. But this, this was a deep slow burning blaze that made her less then rational... and she was predominantly rational, practical even...except when it came to him.
And apparently her coat color.

Lan felt Tekashi's gaze, maybe if his coat hadn't been so riddled already it would have burned but with so much scar tissue he never would find out. His hooves pounded into the dirt, as he eked out every tidbit of friction he could to catch up to the roaring mini mob that was Amber and Atlas.
He couldn't let anything happen to her. Although it wasn't technically his fault that she had gotten into this mess. Both of them into this mess..his ribs ached dully with each thunk but steadily his speed increased.
He began to call up the warrior within. His world narrowed to his adversary and the twisting turning rash beyond all reason, crazy...but beautiful mare. Her mane flew behind her like a pennant...and noticing this was NOT very warrior like of him.

Amber wove through trees, jumped over bushes and puddles, she took sharp turns all in an effort to lose him. To no avail. The damn stallion was gaining on her. Think Amber! Think! I hope Lan is ok! That mare was not very nice either. If she touches his hide... that gorgeous black, scar filled hide... Amber squeezed her eyes shut. This is no time for distraction Amber! Lan is fine! You've got bigger problems. She could hear the big stallion now, thundering right behind her. Suddenly she felt one of her front hooves catch on a branch and she felt herself flying through the air, and smacking hard against a rock. "This is it" she thought, "He caught me..."

Atlas surged on, gaining on the mare bit by bit. Then his prey tripped and smacked into a rock. Perfect. He leapt the last bit of distance and reared up, slamming his hooves down towards her shoulders and front legs. He would keep her from running away again, then keep her from talking. Permanently.

To say she was in pain would be understatement. She only had time to shift her weight sideways before the stallion slammed into her shoulder full force. She might have heard a crunching noise but she was not sure. A loud cry left her as her vision blurred and she went to a place between unconsciousness and reality. "Lan..." she whispered...

He was going to be too late, he was going to be to late. He screamed as the hooves came down on the little mare. No. It couldn't be, it can't be, he had to reverse it.
Lan hit the big stallion broadside ramming his chest into the other male and sending them both flying while he scrabbled to get a hold on the other with his teeth. They became a flying, flailing dust devil of blindingly enraged male. Lan could only think. "Push him away push him away." He felt a wing tear and growled. Those took forever to patch back together. People would start calling him Raggedy Ann..of course they wouldn't speak much after that but that was besides the point.

Atlas felt a surge of satisfaction, followed by a muted sense of pain as he was thrown away from his victim. The stallion. His rage had narrowed his range too much to register the presence of the angry Lanthiron until it was too late. He could feel rocks and branches dig into him as they tumbled and exchanged blows. He howled as Lan sank his teeth into him, trying to strike the other male with his hooves and even his head. His reason for fighting quietly slid away as he fought Lan, leaving only the anger behind as a reminder of his purpose. All he wished to do now was to fight, to crush his opponent and make him suffer.

Amber's gaze finally focused and what she saw made her heart constrict with dread. Lan was in a tangle of hooves, and teeth and hair. And her heart reached out to him. This is all because of me... a tear ran down her face. It's all my fault. Amber tried picking herself up to help Lan, but the pain was too much. With stars dancing around her vision, she slumped down again, hopeless and helpless "Please be ok. Pease be ok...."

Meanwhile Tekashi approached at a more sedate pace, half in shock, half in rage. She stood by Amber and with worried eyes watched the two stallions. "See what you have wrought little thief. I can't tell him to stop or the warrior will finish him, nor can you distract your, well whatever he is to you."
Tekashi walked closer to the males and started to pummel a sage bush, the sweet aroma drifted over to the combatants. A subtle hint. If this didn't work, there there was always plan B. Her eyes landed on Amber.

Lan panted, wounds were apparent both on himself and the other much more like this and they would be flat on their sides poking each other with their hooves, too weak to stand. Blood loss had a way of weakening even the most gallant knights.
The scent of sage slowly penetrated his mind, and he turned to see Tekashi head toward Amber. Gods another one. "No!" He grunted.
His distraction earned him a good thunk on the head. Ow. He disengaged from Atals and wobbled over to get between Amber and Tekashi.
He sensed that "stop" would be a bad word. "Desist" he said instead.
Tekashi smirked at him.
Now they were back where they had started, albeit more bloody and winded.
Tekashi and Atlas on one side, Lanthiron and Amber Shade on the other.
Which was good because he felt like collapsing and not waking..or moving for a week.
