"Wow, it actually worked," Roddy said surprised the kits had gotten close enough for Dash's tree attack to shower them with snow. He laughed and waved at the kits as they laughed and complimented the the "oldtimers." With them safely gone to take their game elsewhere, Roddy made his careful way out of his tree.
"Yep I saw you were great. I'm surprised they didn't stick around longer to bask in your awesome." Yeah she'd just have to settle for him.
It felt weird to be moving through a crowd but everyone was having a good time and they certainly weren't the only "oldtimers" acting like kits. Then the music seemed to lift again and draw them towards it.
"Yes, really neat." Roddy picked up one of the music sheets. "Did you want to stop and listen or maybe sing a bit?" He wasn't sure if she could, he wasn't sure if he could it had been so long. But if they kept their voices down there would only be each other to know.... Of course Dash did like to shout her opinions to the world, especially when criticizing him it sometimes seemed. Was she the same with her friends? Probably, but there was a loyal heart within her, just nervous of expressing the more "sappy" emotions. He started to hum to the music again, not quite ready to actually sing along yet.

"Pfft they were just scared and- DID THEY JUST CALL ME AN OLD TIMER!? WHY THOSE LIL-" But the moment had dissipated. Other things caught her attention away from such an insult to her very being.
She wasn't a singer. Not in the slighest. Fluttershy had her manly singing voice and so did Rarity but of course, Dash didn't. When Roddy asked if she wanted to sing along.. She took the paper and lifted it to her face.. A blush came over her as she heard the rest of the others singing and him humming. The embarrassment that she couldn't do it.. Her nerves started to escalate as the singing got louder and louder. "I-I-I hate singing- Its lame anyways." Looking away. The song was ending and when the next one came on.. it was more her type of music. Rock'N'Jingle!
"Now- Here's something I can jam to!" As she headbanged her long rainbow hair dancing wildly with her. "YEA! WOOO!" Grabbing on to Roddy's arm. "Jingle Bell Jingle bell~ jingle bell Nock-ROCK!" Err..... Blushing. Then someone pushed in to her and she fell on top of Roddy, "Hey!" But when she turned her head back to him.. she looked up. From up close like this... quickly she pulled away. "Sorry. Crowds." Her nervous laugh as she tried- to sing again. But she got lower and lower as she didn't know the words and didn't want to embarrass herself. "Look whos a natural~" Giving him a push playfully.
Tygress Dream tag I want them to do the jumping around for the next song maybe? Maybe eat some food before ending it~ And then we can end it with.. maybe the snow starts falling TOO hard? Then they can leave.

Roddy's heart sunk a little at Rainbow Dash's response to singing. He knew the reaction was her usual way of hiding nerves and embarrassment but it still hurt a bit. "Lame's a little harsh..." he muttered... not sure if he actually wanted her to hear that. She was perking up with the uptempo of the next song. He was happy she'd found a jam she enjoyed.
As usual he was suddenly pulled into trouble as she raised her voice to sing along. He was starting to get into the groove when a stumble in the lyrics had her blushing and then she was pushed into him. He grinned admiring how the blush painted her cheeks before she pulled away apologizing.
"It's not a problem Dash," he said. Then he sang too just a little louder than her so maybe she feel more comfortable if his voice drowned out her mistakes. When she stopped he did.
"No worries, no need for singing along. let's just dance ok?" They jammed along with the rest of the crowd to the current song and the next couple that were along the same type. Roddy wondered what would happen when the music inevitably moved back to a slow song. He would love to ask for a dance, but didn't think she'd react well if he asked. So he just grooved his hair swinging into his face from time to time and waiting to see what happened when the music changed....

It was a rock song- completely different. When he rose his voice, she smiled widely. Even softly laughing. "There you go~Didnt know you had that in ya!" Headbanging and rocking to the beat. There was so many things in this festival... She wanted to do them ALL! It was then that the rainbow came back to her and circled around them. Laughing, she didn't think anything of it...
The rainbow started 'exploding' and Dash tilted her head in surprise. "You ok there rainbow." Then the rainbow shot... and left. "Hey- I gotta- Um.. I'll be back!" Then ran off and as soon as she left.. a slow song started.. and the ulaya started getting together to dance..
Her paws raced and the rainbow came to food. "What in the- APPLES?!?!?!?" Her tail wagged happily but not just apples. Something was attached to them!? "Can I?" The vender gave her a plate of food. Fruits and Veggies. "Not everyone likes my cooking."
"I LOVE IT! Wow thank you! Can I take some to my friend?"
"Well sure!" As soon as she grabbed another plate she saw an ulaya... that looked like her friend. "Fluttershy? Fluttershy is that you?" But the ulaya didn't answer. "Fluttershy!? Its me Rainbow Dash! I missed you!" As she tried to communicate to the ulaya on the other side of the long table... As soon as she moved. The ulaya disappeared! "Wait! SHY!" Her paws raced to the other side of the long table but when she got there- she looked around and saw nothing. "Hey- Did you see a girl that has pink hair and yellow body? She was right here-" "Mam.. I didn't see anyone.. was it your friend you were looking for? Because you left this here plate."
When the leafed plate was handed to her... She stared at it.. Blankly.
....... Ears went down. "...Yea.." Tears were starting to fill her eyes..

It all happened so quickly Roddy found himself alone staring after to rainbow streaks moving toward the vendors...
"Hey sugar, your friend sure left in a rush" a lovely female ulaya said coming up beside him "Her loss, this new song is a favorite and I find myself in need of a partner..." the female smiled invitingly.
Roddy blinked confused at the sudden offer, the newcomer was lovely but the rainbow had come for Dash and usually had a reason. "Thanks, but I should probably go check to see what got into my friends." When she pouted he apologized before running from the dance floor.
Roddy wasn't feeling a desire to dance with any except the lady he'd accompanied to the event. The invitation that normally would have him smiling and accepting instead left him feeling cold. What could be going on now with Dash and her rainbow? He got a little lost in the crowd before he finally spotted the the distinctive rainbow hair. Seeing her dejected posture he approached slowly.
Sliding up beside her, he pretended not to notice the downturned ears and the tears, "Hey, Dash, what happened? Something wrong with the food?" he tried to be joking but his concern for her still flavored his tone as he reached to put a paw around her.

It was Fluttershy. She was just across this darn table. She was RIGHT THERE. Her heart felt like it was breaking and suffocating. That's when she knew- and that's when she felt that she was really lost. Everyone she knew. Gone. When she felt her chest wanting to rip apart. Roddy's voice made her ears perk up. Quickly she rubbed her eyes and chuckled. "Them darn Onions. You know. Um Onions. Always get in my eyes! But their delicious!" She tried to shrug it off. The old ulaya grandma smiled softly. "Oh is that the friend you were looking for. Well. What a nice looking young fello- here- have an apple."
Dash's paw waved softly. "Nauh- see the plate was for him." Looking up at him with her hair covering one side of her face as she lifted up the plate full of veggies and things. "See...Um.. You don't have to eat it. Know you like um that other stuff but I guess.. the foods real good." A smile- forced. The rainbow circled around them and settled around Dash's neck like a snake pet would...
"You know... Um maybe after we eat.. we can find some tree to chill under. I think those kits and dancing kinda looks like they whiped you out." Always putting her situation in another's light. Anything to take the attention away from her and what she was going through.
Shrugging softly as she took his apple and bit it. "Just sayin oldtimeeerrr~~~" Rubbing her other paw against her eyes again. Just to make sure the tears were dried.

Roddy smiled glad his suggestion worked to get her a cover she could work with, especially when the other ulaya approached. His ear twitched slightly at the word friend but then he was ducking his head a bit at her compliment, "Thank you ma'am."
Roddy accepted the plate of food. "I don't dislike vegetables Dash, they're just not my go to choice for dinner." He ate some, "These are really delicious." Rodimus focused on his food, trying not see how much she was suffering. He wanted to hug her close, tell her everything would be ok... but he couldn't force the issue. They'd been forced into a certain closeness by circumstances, he'd had to rescue her after all, and were really just getting to really know each other.
He yawned, "Yeah, it's been a really tiring day already for this oldtimer," he said taking her hint. He finished up his food and stood offering her his paw. "Let's go find a nice spot to rest...."
