There is so much YES in this statement. I can't even...

AND YESSSS. THIS x100000.
I'll love you forever & whoever write it up. I want to see how the thought process of writing a lemon scene is like emotion_kirakira

Okay, so I see I started something with this lemon seminar thing. This guild isn't exactly advertised as a "18+" or "Mature" or what have you, but I do feel that lemons/limes/citrus writing techniques are a key part in writing fanfiction to a certain extent. It's something that people (namely myself) need a bit of help executing just like with action scenes or any other scene that writers find themselves fumbling with. So, if we want to make this happen, we need two things:

1.) Our lovely captain's permission

2.) Someone who is comfortable writing lemons and is okay with writing a thread with some pointers

Of course we'll have to keep the contents of the thread on the up and up since Gaia has been known to warn/ban for things that are sexually explicit or things that link to NSFW content. The last thing I want to do is end up getting our guild reported for risque material. Hell, if we can't find someone to write the thread then I'll do some research and post the thread with multiple, un-linked but cited sources. Is this all right with you two and anyone else who might be interested in a lemon-writing seminar?

By the way, I'm so, so sorry for thread-jacking you, Renkon Root. I just didn't want to post this in a thread of its own when there's a 50/50 chance that this idea won't come into fruition.

Can we host it off site?
Like send you our emails & maybe in the email, we decide upon a place for something like that? ;o

Who knows? I might just recommend a bunch of trashy novels for you guys to read. xp

All joking aside, the emails might be the most viable option.

I know, right? However, my M-rated fics are only rated so high because of language and violence. That's probably disappointing to some of my readers. rofl

You're one of those people who I glare at (the screen name/image) intensely because there wasn't a lemon scene to fulfill my desires emotion_donotwant

Oh god, you'd glare at me then. xD I typically don't write lemons. I like reading them I just...I dunno, it's not something that I really want to write. I'm not against writing one, it's just never come to the point where I felt the need to. :/

I don't mind at all if this is something we can have off site or somewhere more private. My main concern is the younger members because I don't want to get banned or have the guild closed down if they Gaia mods see that kind of thread.

Right? Even though they've been releasing some rather questionable items as of late, Gaia is still pretty rigid in regards to handling NSFW content and off-site linking that leads to websites that have that sort of content. Although the guilds have practically been abandoned, it's best not to risk it.

We could make the thread on TentacL.

Glad to know I'm forgiven. emotion_awesome

Anyway, in regards to the Tentacl thing, I hope it works out for you two. Right now I have Kunoichi linking me to awful examples of lemons via Skype and I think I have the gist on what not to do. I just need to get a handle on what to do.

On topic: I don't know if anyone has experienced this problem, but it might be best to publish a chapter when it isn't some wonky morning hour. I've posted a few times during the time frame of 11 p.m.-3 a.m. and I've found that I don't get an alert and neither do my readers. No one gets an alert for hours. So, if you want to make sure your work gets read, I guess don't post between 11 p.m.-3 a.m. Central? sweatdrop I mean, it'll still get read eventually but, eh, whatever you get my point.

Some of my previous fics that I deleted had a number of A/Ns that were basically conversations between characters. Granted, it was a definite parody, but going by the advice at the top of the thread I'd say it was uncalled for regardless.

My first fic had me begging for reviews and the lack of thereof made me think the story sucked. It's still there, but it's pure old shame now.

I think everyone does that when they're first starting off. I remember when I first started writing and publishing fanfics, I was easily intimidated so I thought when people didn't review right away (or if they didn't review at all) it meant that I was a terrible writer. Granted, back then I kinda was... But still. The number of reviews an author gets doesn't necessarily determine if the author is good or bad at writing.

When I first started posting I would include author's notes that were shorter drabble fics -usually that had nothing to do with the main fic. Like "bloopers" of the canon. Or maybe a short musical number by a character.

This needs to be a T-shirt, a bumper sticker, and a poster. Seriously.

I find the one sure way to get reviews/views is to write M-rated fics for popular fandoms xD

I know what you mean, I have one rated T and it literally only got less than ten views. M is the way to go, you know, if you're comfortable with it.
