He faltered. He faltered, and he almost told her to get her a** back to the dorm so that she was naked by the time he got back there - and he almost told her that she better be ready to eat fast.
Real ******** fast.
"Yeah, you shoulda come home sooner - but you home now, an' that's all that matters."
But he was trying, really ******** trying to be good, and so Tuck spun on his heel and called over his shoulder, "I'm finna get sandwiches, you get us somethin' to drink."
There was a long silence as he called from the kitchen, "You gonna need your strength!"

Heidi raised her arm to give Tuck a thumb's up. "Will do! I'll--" He called out again and she actually blushed. Green eyes darted left and right as she looked around at whoever could have heard that, her smile turning sheepish as she combed her fingers through rainbow-colored hair. In public? Really?
Regardless she got up and joined Tuck in the kitchen, digging around to find drinks. Water, water, lots of water, and..oh. Energy drinks.
...She collected a few of those, too.
Finally Heidi's arms were full of bottles and cans and she turned to Tuck, cheeks flushed and her smile poorly hidden by her teeth pressed into her bottom lip. She raised her shoulders and arms to say I got this.

Bread, check. Peanut butter, check.
Well, lunch was done. Peanut butter was a great source of protein, and bread, whatever, who cared.
Hoisting the bag of bread and the jar of peanut butter up, Tuck turned to Heidi victoriously -- and then frowned.
And grabbed another bag of bread and another jar of peanut butter.
"Okay, lets get outta here."

That was..a lot of bread and peanut butter. Heidi eyed it as she walked alongside Tuck out of the kitchen and mess hall to return to the dorms.
"...You're not going to let me crash from my adrenaline rush of being home." She looked up at him with a cheeky grin. "Am I even going to be able to walk tomorrow?"

He gave her a grin.
"Can you walk any faster?"

Heidi laughed. When he asked if she could walk faster she intentionally slowed down to an exaggerated crawl, taking one...slow..step...at a time...
It wasn't that she didn't want this, oh no she wanted it very badly, but messing with Tuck was just way too much fun. She was kind of curious what he would do.

At first he wasn't entirely sure why she slowed down. And then he realized she was ******** with him. So Tuck dumped two loaves of bread and two jars of peanut butter into Heidi's arms before he immediately dipped to pick her up in his arms. "Sassy a**."

Annnnnnd there it was! She laughed some more while she adjusted her arms to accommodate the addition of the peanut butter and bread. When he picked her up she squealed, still giggling as she leaned in to give him a kiss. "You love my sassy a**."

Green eyes widened, her cheeks flushing a soft pink. "Oh, um. Okay." She smiled, shifting so she could tuck her head under his chin. "That makes more sense than what I was thinking." Her smile grew into a grin as she turned her eyes up toward him without moving her head. "Can you walk any faster?" She was teasing him for his comment earlier.
...Mostly.
