Adrian Jones  Adrian nodded and took the tooth brush. "Okay, Breanna, I'll try to remember that. It's a nice name." He smiled. "Oh, umm, no. I do not read the paper normally. I am supposed to go to school I think but maybe I should stay here? I wonder when I'll see Illo again. Umm, I am going to brush my teeth now so I will be right back I suppose?" He walked over to the bathroom and brushed his teeth, trying to think about what he wanted to do. Adrian finished brushing and went back to Breanna. "Breanna, you work for Lily right? What do you think of her?" He knew his opinion of her, at least he thought he did, but he wanted to know what someone close to her thought.

"What I think of her?" This question beared repeating from the girl to herself as it was a question which invoked a great, spinning introspection. She might have been lost for days in some firmament between a noisy ether and roundabout answers had it been in her nature to stay between words very long. Still, there was a certain distance in her eyes which only showed itself in the fraction of a second the girl looked away to the alabaster ink of dust caught in the window light. "She's very nice," she began finally.
"I mean she's very busy, of course, Lady Lilith, but sh'es very kind. Sometimes I don't know how she can manage to be warm at all." She pressed a button on a coffee maker absently and started making a "fresh" French roast for two. "This is a cold job. It's full of goodbyes, you see. Being an immortal is tough that way. But you must know, lord, she cares deeply about us all. Why else would she keep our souls in such care? And all she asks in return as that we each do what we please--but don't cause an imbalance in the world of course!"
In a moment the coffee was done. Breanna sat next to Adrian and handed him a cup, smiling differently than before. Not that her smile was, per se, cold before, but this time it felt like the two had literally become friends in an instant. Just as Illo had thought the boy to be a lightning rod of good faith, and it was at this time that the servant remembered the mention, but not the name, of the Phoenix.
"It looks like she has a lot of faith in you, giving you the same level as her other partner just like that... Earlier you'd mentioned someone, Illo? Who is that?"

Adrian Jones Adrian nodded, looking a little confused when she seemed to call him 'lord' but he let that slide. "I see. Well, she does seem nice. She was the second person to talk to me as soon as I got into town. Maybe she knew I felt lonely." He laughed lightly and took the coffee. Adrian wasn't much of a fan and it might had showed when he took a small sip and pretended to enjoy it. "Oh, right, her other partner, what is she like?" He took another sip, trying to get used to the flavor. "Oh, Illo. He is a really strong and amazing person. I think Lily called him the Phoenix or something like that? She said he was one of the best fighters in the world too I think. Illo said he would train me, I just do not know when I will see him next, he did not give me any way to contact him." Adrian flinched for a second. "Ahh, I forgot to say thank you for the coffee, I am sorry."

"Oh, you needn't thank me for anything. Serving others is like breathing for me," she explained, "and no one is ever thanked for breathing." She giggled at this point see Adrian was struggling with the roast.
"That's not the best blend we've had, you'll have to forgive me." She took a packet from her pocket--Lilith was exactly right to think the boy wasn't a coffee drinker, and before she left, the brew fiend Breanna was, she told her to take something to cut down that stiff roast--and put its dust into the black drink. A charge of tans and browns and even a glimmer of white bloomed out of the bottom like some overplayed metaphor for the unearthing of true feelings in some surly teacher or janitor.
"The Phoenix, you say? Well that sounds lovely to me. You know what they say about the Phoenix, don't you?" Breanna asked completely ignoring the parts of the monk which didn't let her say, "That he rises again each time he dies, no matter what. That's what Lilith allows us to do. Rise again, so we can keep living the way we want to." She shook her head. "But you'll learn all that soon enough."
"What's Zoey like? Well, it some ways she's a lot like Lilith. She's very devoted to our cause here. She's not as, how do you say, strict? as Lilith is, but her work ethic is perfect."

Adrian Jones Adrian smiled. "Well if you were not breathing we would not be able to talk so thank you for breathing Breanna. As for the coffee I have to admit, I have never really been a fan of it, much more a tea person but I did not want to be rude." He watched as she put some sort of dust into the drink. Adrian took another sip, liking it much better. "Thank you." He took a few more sips as he listened. "Mmh yes, I think I heard that. Did you know my country's national animal is the red dragon? I think that is cooler than a fire bird." He laughed lightly. Adrian nodded, wondering what would happen with him next. "Do you know where Lily is? I am wondering if she wants me to do something here or if I should just relax."

She smiled. "Everything's been going great actually! We have a client coming in about his souls soon." She sipped her coffee.
Zoey put her coffee down and re tied up her hair into a bun."Adrian seems very nice, kinda shy? Are they your new partner?" ℬecause it can change people

"Is that right? Wow, you're first deal..." Lilith didn't really know what to think--if it was even her first deal that is--of a human being able to do what she did. "Suppose anything really is possible." She said it into her cup. Everyone else had styrofoam, not these two, porcelain for winners thanks.
"Is it your first deal? Are you nervous?" Lilith reached out and grabbed Zoey's hand. The last thing she wanted was for her to be nervous about a deal, or at least closing it. Really, deals like this are closed long before anybody shows up at a meeting.
"Adrian?" She checked. "Yes, he is. I see a lot of potential in the boy, and his soul reminds me a lot of yours. He's ambitious, just like you, and for that reason I'm sure he can make things happen." She took another sip and switched legs. "Not only that, but if you two work together, I don't think there's anything that can stop you from making it in this business. That's why I brought him to meet you."
Back at the suite (the nest day for Lilith)...
"So, you're sure you want to meet Adrian before the deal?" Lilith's ears were burning as she took Zoey to see Adrian, all the way up the elevator. There would be a knock at the door as Adrian finished his last question, and in went Lilith. "Hey~!" She sung to the two sitting there.

Adrian Jones Adrian flinched in surprise. "Oh, Lily! I was just asking Breanna where you were." He laughed lightly and saw that Lily's other partner, Zoey, was with her. "Ahh, hello, Zoey right?" Adrian put down his coffee and stood up. He then realized that he was still in his pajamas that he slept in last night. "Oh umm, Lily, did you have any clothes I could wear? Or maybe some way my clothes could be washed?" 'Oh my goodness I have not showered in a day, I really hope no one notices' Adrian suddenly started looking very worried and paranoid.

"Welcome, Lilith." Lilith nodded and smiled to the servant and then looked to Adrian. "There's a full closet there, if you wish. And the shower works just fine." She giggled and looked to Zoey. "We'll wait. We're in no rush."
"Breanna, dear?" Lilith would say in the meantime, "How has he been so far? I do hope he hasn't caused you too much trouble."
"Trouble? Oh, no, no trouble. He's very sweet..." Lilith looked at her expectantly, almost carrying her pause with her eyebrows. "But I wonder."
"Wonder what?"
"Do you think... Do you think he can handle this line of work? I mean, he seems so innocent, so fragile."
"And there's where you're wrong," said Lilith with a small laugh. "Innocent and fragile are not the same. Just look at Zoey here. She was as innocent as they came when she first started, now she's closing her first deal. And you'll just have to trust me when I say there are plenty of souls out there that are very fragile despite not being innocent in the least." She was referring to Breanna's soul, but she wouldn't tell her that outright.
"I see... So then, you have faith in him." There was another pause, ending with Breanna lifting her smiling face to Lilith saying, "Then I do too!"

Adrian Jones Adrian nodded and blushed as his fears were confirmed, it was noticeable. "Ahh, sorry, thank you." He grabbed some new clothes and rushed into the bathroom. Adrian didn't want to take a long shower and make everyone wait but his long hair took time to wash. He smiled at the various shampoos and conditioners, maybe he could get used to 'living like a king.' Adrian eventually did finish washing and dried himself off. "I'll be out in a moment, is there a hair dryer?" He was fully dressed but his hair was still pretty wet. Adrian knew his long hair could be a hassle but he liked it. He did his best to look around for one but didn't want to snoop around, still feeling like he was in someone else's bathroom.

"It should be behind the mirror." Breanna and Lilith both giggled. "Maybe we should just get your hair cut," Teased Lilth.
When Adrian would come out he would find Lilith and Zoey talking about the deal slated to go down in twenty minutes. "Adrian, would you like to watch Zoey close a deal?"

Adrian Jones Adrian found the hair dryer and dried his hair as quickly as he could do they wouldn't have to wait on him much longer. He frowned slightly as he was teased, hoping she was just joking, Adrian really liked his hair. Adrian walked out feeling much better now that he was clean. "Oh, like a deal with souls? Well I suppose if I am going to be your partner I should know how this stuff works, okay I'll come." He gave a light smile and waited for a direction.

Adrian Jones Adrian's eyes widened slightly as he remembered something. "I was supposed to pick some things on my first day. I'm sorry, maybe we can do this some other time?" Adrian looked over at Breanna. "Oh, alright, well I'll show you the way out then Adrian." "Thank you Breanna. I hope we'll see each other soon Lily and it was nice to meet you Zoey." He smiled and waved slightly as Breanna lead him to a portal which would lead him back to Death City.

Zoey listened quietly to the conversation going on between Lilith and Breanna. "Gosh I wasn't that innocent when you met me.." she puffed out her cheeks. "I don think it would be good to have him come watch.. maybe learn from my mistakes" She looked up when Adrian came out and listened as he spoke. Zoey waved to Adrian. "It was nice to meet you. Sorry you can't come.." ℬecause it can change people
