Thankfully for Otto less plush was still fairly plush, all things considered. Cami would never be thin but the beginnings of handles on her hips were smoothed away into skin that stretched over her hips. Some of the extra plush on her biceps and thighs were gone but the light curve of her tummy was going to be there. Forever. Feeling the poke on her hip she squirmed slightly.
"Nothing is impossible. Where have you been living for the last few years, Otto Graves?" She was trying to be her jovial self, trying to tease him, but it was falling just a little flat when combined with how very tired she looked (and sounded). "Maybe you're going to get a beer belly soon." At least her smile was genuine, lighting up her eyes at the idea of a chubby Otto. "And, you know, maybe I'll be a size four."

Otto whined, kicking his feet against the side of the bed. "Noooo I don't wanna have a beer belly.." He complained, lifting himself up to pout at Cami. She looked different. Malnourished. Tired? Very tired? He studied her face carefully from above, both hands pressed down beside either side of her.
Honestly, she could be bigger or smaller. So long as she was still Cami.
"Y'look a bit burnt out, girly. Y'feelin' alright?" He drawled with concern.

Very very tired and decidedly malnourished. Her hair was a little less vibrant than usual, though she'd been meticulously keeping up the blonde in her hair to match her duo of lovers. Several patches of ashen skin could be seen at elbows, knees, and ankles because she'd simply not taken very good care of herself lately.
Hands pulled lightly at Otto's arms, trying to get him to lay back against her, craving the comfort of a body warm and weighty against her own. "I'm tired." There was no denying that fact. She wasn't even going to try to lie about it. Yet even as she thought about what to say, thinking about whether she ought to mention the paranoid fear lurking in the back of her mind, her jaw set. She was not going to hurt them! Not now. Not ever.
"I just have been beating my head against this wall on my assignment. Gotta push through though, yeah? Can't fail." 'Can't afford to.' Kidana was quiet in her head but at least she had been speaking to the dark-skinned islander again. Their bond was as strong as it had ever been, thriving in adversity.
Trying to lighten the mood once more she tugged lightly at Otto once more. "You're here though. I'm feeling better already."

The second time she tugged at him, he relented. He'd enjoyed getting a good look at her again, even if she seemed... far away and different. He rested his head against her bosom, as he often defaulted to when they were together.
"Can you take some breaks? Workin' hard is great, but don't bust yourself up too much." Even Otto caught himself working too hard now and then; returning home for a long shower and a nap or two.
He couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong with Cami. He had no delicate way of asking about it. He usually didn't do things delicately anyway. Often times he was reprimanded by Maebe for having no tact. "If you ever need to talk... you know I'm here, right?"

Tact was not something she wanted or needed from Otto. Most of the reason she loved him was because he battered at her defenses, that bubble she unconsciously put around herself because she was too silly to let people in, just by being himself. Maybe someone else might have been self-conscious or ashamed of the way she snuggled him close like a safety blanket, face buried against his sunlight hair, but not Cami.
Her shame was not for anything physical, now or ever.
She felt him probing and it was a sign of progress that she didn't try to deflect. "I know. I'm just...not ready to talk about it yet." Talking about it to others made it more real than she was not entirely sure she could handle. Shoulders rolled unconsciously as she thought about it, easing a pain that was so a part of her she didn't even think about it anymore.
Lips did curve slightly as she nuzzled against Otto. "I'll be able to rest if you'll be home for a bit." She was enticing him to stay on the island for a bit, to rest and relax with her for at least a few days. "I might even sleep if Maebe ever finds her way home."

Otto nodded against her, smiling a hidden smile. He loved it when they played with his hair, no matter the scenario.
"I'll stick around a while. I'll just take some normal shifts around Deus for a few days." He didn't mind slipping back into their domestic routine for a brief period. Too long, and he'd feel lazy and unproductive. But too short, and he'd become lonely. He settled into her warmth and presence. The pleasant sound of her voice. The feel of her breathing underneath his weight; alive and well as her heart continued to beat on cue.
"I'm sure she'll be here.." He hoped so. "Maybe we just have to say the magic words to summon her."

Otto needn't have worried about falling into complacency. There was a statistically improbable chance that Cami would be around long enough for that to happen. A week would be pushing at the limits of what she could hide from Maebe's insight and his own, for both of them knew her both far too well and delightfully so. "Good." Fingers threaded through Otto's hair to pet him the way she knew he enjoyed.
Laughter had her chest thrumming at the mention of magic words to summon their wayward third. "I'm too comfortable to throw my underwear across the room right now. Perhaps..." She bit at her lower lip playfully, giggling even as she called out in a loud voice. "GOODNESS. I sure wish we had someone who was willing to have a threesome with us! It's too bad we're here. All alone. Without a third person." Cornflower eyes danced with humor as she spoke to Otto in a stage whisper.
"If that doesn't get her here, I don't know what will."

She'd already been inside, hesitantly walking towards the doorway, ready to meekly ask if she was welcome, when Cami yelled out the secret password, and she appeared in the doorway. "You know, if I wasn't already here because I promised Otto I'd spend more time with you both, I'd actually call you on that, you c**k tease. As if the two of you are ever going to let me have my way." Her smile was crooked, and a little embarrassed - that off-beat moment and amazing timing had ruined all of her plans to try and be serious about her staying up with them longer. Because now all she could think about was threesomes. Which, admittedly, would have also done the same job. Just less emotionally.

Like a fly to honey, Maebe was there. The magic words had worked. He rolled over enough to get a look at her, waving lazily as Cami's hair petting had made him complacent. She was right though, as far as Otto was concerned, a threesome would never be in order. An audience of one was more than enough during regular sex. Forget having to please a second woman on top of it. Too embarrassing and too much to do. He had 99 problems with threesomes. "Glad you could make it." He drawled, pleasantly happy to see Maebe actually arrive. Perhaps she'd stick around. "Come join the party."
