" Nope, nothing. No music, just - wind." Shu who was with Dylon shook her head tentatively. She was more concern of the thicker fog around them. " Mr. Ever, are you still there?" she called, moved the flashlight towards Ever's direction to make sure he wasn't gone. " Sh-Should we go into one of them to have a check?" She suggested, tugging Dylon's clothes. It wasn't fun to be alone in dense fog creepy place like that.

"We could try, sure." Dylon murmured, still smiling as if nothing was wrong. He led Shu along, an attempt to navigate the fog towards a house. Ever was nearby, he was certain. Walking down the side walk, slight in front of Shu, one step turned a quiet evening into a nightmare. Quote: 81- 100: BOSS ENCOUNTER: - As you continue walking down the sidewalk you hear a large crack, followed by another. A strange gas explodes from underneath, making you extremely dizzy, as you cough to figure out what is going on, fighting for air now. You have exposed your entire team to a hallucinogen, making everything more terrifying than ever as your vision swims and hops uncontrollably and your hearing becomes muted. Something creaks, groans, lurches underneath you, but is that your imagination? - BOSS MECHANICS: This boss is a mob that has collective 100 HP. Every time you attack it (following the general battle rules), you TAKE 8 damage. AS you can't really see the boss, most of it will have to be dependent on what you can see, if anything at all, from strange faceless figures lurching, half-hopping towards you to the smiling dead coming back and swiping at you. Make sure to tally the boss's total HP (the damage you did to it) at the bottom of your post as well as your total HP and the damage you did that round. If the boss's HP hits 0, you have defeated it, and your team can now take the portal back. The explosion made Dylon cover Shu, guarding her from whatever might come. The gas, however, was not something he could shield her from. He felt his world flip upside down. He tried hard to keep Shu safe, but he was having a hard time standng himself. Dizzy and barely able to breathe, he tried to take Shu away from the area. That's when he saw them. Something was coming. Many somethings. "I think we found something, guys." He rasped through a coughing fit. Dylon HP: 40/40

In some ways, it was a relief to have an actual enemy to attack; in others, especially in these shadows, especially with the dose of some kind of gas that made his head whirl, it brought Ever's heart up into his throat. As he stepped forward to check on Dylon where he stood coughing, his own scarf pulled up over his face, Ever's eyes settled onto the mass and, somewhere in the heart of the fog, he could have sworn one of the faces was Nergui. He drew in a shaky breath, and fought down the urge to flee -- only Amory's needling, his biting teasing tone, made Ever step in and swing, weapon thoughtlessly in his hand. Only sheer dumb luck made him connect. HP: 42/50 Charge: 1/3 DMG: 7 Boss HP: 93

Shu never smoke, so when she accidentally inhaled a bunch of the gases, she couldn't stand properly. She felt Dylon's holding her tightly for a while but then the force was gone and her hand slid off his clothes. The smellless gas, she felt like something piercing through her throat, she craved for oxygen to replace whatever invaded her body. < Don't intake that gas, cover your mouth and nose!> Z warned with a yell, like usual. She couldn't hear Dylon's voice, or anyone. The petite Asian tried to brace herself but found she could only see dense fogs, strange noises that she was certain not from her teammates and she hated that. She was scared. Z was summoned and her eyes flickered left and right for anything, any cues of movement and smashed at that. Her heart started to throb quickly and sweats immersed from her skin, cold sweats. Shu tried to stabilize her breathe, but not working when she was that anxious. She was in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by thick fog, lost.

It was like fighting a cloud. Intangible spectres haunted the corners of his vision, but he had little means of determining what was true and what was a figment. Vahn was summoned, but his swing did little to damage whatever was out there. Was any of it even real? ============== Dylon HP: 32/40

"...Shu, Dylon...?" Even as he said it, voice hoarse and shaky under the effects of the gas, Ever was swinging wildly at something that stepped close enough for him to connect with solidly, satisfyingly, the blade digging deep before pulling lose. He struggled to regain his train of thought, but he didn't have time to call out again before something was coming from the other side, and he had to struggle to drive it off, as well. What was in the fog? A featureless hand reached out for her legs, leaving stingy pains before it vanished. Then, many hands appeared together with faceless figures lurching towards the petite girl, like groups of zombies craving for her fleshes. It brought back awful memories, when she was inflected, when she bit and inflected other hunters. The fear accumulated slowly burst out with a strong swing, knocked down and dissipated the illusions, she took in deep breathes to still her heart. < Watch and focus, find out what your true enemy is silly.> The beast yelled with an advice, reminding his hunter when they were in the external mission in the woods. ========================== HP: 34/ 50

"We're here!" Dylon coughed out, wincing as he felt things attack him from the fog, vanishing before he could see what. He'd lost sight of Shu, but he was sure he'd heard her earlier. They'd be okay. It was just a mission. Missions had a tendancy to go a little bad, right? Dylon wasn't entirely certain. He'd not been on enough of them to know for sure. ========== HP: 24/ 50

For one horrified moment, as Ever swung again -- blade slicing through something that made a faintly sickening noise -- he had to pause and wonder if maybe the attacking beasts weren't just his fellow hunters, each of them getting their licks on each other instead of attacking an opponent. As it bit back, through, Ever winced and wondered if it would matter, or if he'd keep attacking and defending until he, at least, was safe. HP: 26/50 Charge: 3/3 DMG: 12 Boss HP: 65

" Get out of my way! I need to find my team!" The girl that was half worried and half annoyed yelled at the creatures she saw in hallucinations, at the top of her lungs. Her amber eyes shone in the fog, lit with anger. " Dylon? Mr. Ever? Answer me please." She would hear their voices, but she couldn't see them. Mr. Ever was fine on his own, but Dylon, as observed, didn't go on many external mission. From the last EM, she learned that if they were careless for just a few seconds, they could be attacked. The creatures lurked around were watching them, waiting for the chance they gave a loophole. That promotion mission, she won't forget the pains stabbing in her heart. No one harms her friends, even herself, she made the resolution to herself. Maybe that was why she could get strength, she could hit harder in spars, but that wasn't enough. She needed to be stronger. ========================== HP: 26/ 50

Dylon had panic'd and fought. Thinking back, this was his first mission since he was asked to help a team in Scotland back when he first joined. He'd never really been on the field before now. Never fought in a real dangerous situation.

Dylon heard Shu, and moved through the fog until he found her. "I'll try to cover you guys as best I can!" He yelled out, certain of himself. He grinned proudly, taking a defensive stance nearby Shu.

A voice in the haze, and this one familiar -- it made Ever blow out a breath, somewhat relieved, even if a quick survey of the area didn't bring up Dylon in his sights. "...defense is always welcome." He could feel the charge ready to be released, weapon thrumming in his hand -- but Ever found it hard to give in to the urge in the heart of this battle. Not when it seemed to go wrong so often. So he just swung again, lashing out at a creature as it got too close, and his weapon punished him for the decision. A sharp noise at a critical moment made him jump, miss -- Fine, Amory. Next time, then.Assuming they weren't overrun in the meantime. HP: 18/50 Charge: 3/3 DMG: 0 Boss HP: 60

"Dylon!" The said hunter received a tight hug. The spikes of the hedgehog shortened as the girl felt a sense of relief immersing her soul. She wasn't alone and he looked good. < Let me do it. I can wreck all these stupid things. Let me do it!> The beast roared, a squirming desire to be released shot to Shu uncovered. She was ready - but just a glance, she collapsed. No featureless spooky hands there, no far, two pale blanched figures coming for her, the familiar face soaked with pour-down bloods smiling. They were ghosts, haunting her from the past. "Please.......I-I-k-know...sorry - it-it was me......the one should die - at that time.....I-I miss you -" Shu's eyes flooded with uncontrollable tears slumped on the floor with cracked woods, stutter with whimpers, the hand not holding hammer reached out gingerly and feebly. It was like she was touching something she didn't allow to touch, but yearning for such a long long time that she couldn't bear to lose it. ========================== HP: 23/ 50 [dylon's def for 5]

They weren't doing so well, it seemed. Whatever this stuff was, it was making Shu go nuts. "C'mon, girl. Chin up! We're not out of the water yet, okay?" Dylon encouraged while listing the girl to her feet. "Help Ever fight this thing. We can do it!" He grinned, and gave the girl a cheerful pat on the back. "Give it Hell!" Dylon wanted to keep them both safe while they fought. As much as he wanted to focus on protecting the little one, she wasn't the only member of the team. "C'mon, man! You can do this!"
