Even though he was in an uncomfortable position, Juran quickly fell asleep thanks to the medication. He woke when he heard a fair bit of noise from outside, his window being open. Probably getting ready for the fight, he thought to himself. He didn't think he could face the stairs again but he could watch from the window, which looked down onto the walled yard they used for fights. Had he really only been asleep for an hour then? If felt like much longer. He sighed, struggled to slowly get up and go to the window.

Tag banged on the door of Teito's room. "Time to take out Kade" he told him. "If you can."

Juran leaned on the window sill and stared down at the yard. Seemed like most of the gang and some allies were there to watch the fight, it was quite a crowd. Have they searched Kade for hidden weapons, he suddenly wondered. Yeah, of course they had. This Teito guy could take him, right? He looked fit. Why the hell was he worrying? He didn't care what happened to guys he knew well so why would he give a damn about a virtual stranger? He didn't. Having preference to which contender won wasn't caring, it was just...sport. He watched as Kade was brought out at gun point. Kade knew the score. If he won the fight, he would walk away free. If he lost, he died. If he refused to fight, he died. If he had to kill Teito for his freedom, he would, didn't matter to him. It was survival.

The crowd were clearly rooting for Teito and cheered each time he evaded a punch and roared when he took him down with the swift blow to his throat. It seemed no one at all was on Kade's side, but then it wouldn't have been safe for them to be. Juran watched from the window. He could see Teito's strategy and grinned with approval, that's how he would have played it too. He air punched when the guy got in his winning blow and yelped at the pain that caused. He kind of felt sorry for Kade but the guy had really pissed off the boss and had it coming really. Kade didn't get up again. He wasn't moving and there was a small trickle of blood from his nose and mouth. Blunt force trauma to the larynx and trachea had caused a swift death. One of the guys went to check on him. He shook his head and the boss gave a satisfied grin and a nod to Teito before leaving the scene with some of his henchmen and going back indoors. The crowd dispersed, two guys carried Kade's body away for disposal.

Juran watched the crowd disperse, saw a few guys praising Teito. They disappeared, just leaving the guy standing there.Well, that was par for the course. He moved away from the window slowly then stretched, wincing a little. He thought for a moment. When he heard movement in the next room, he banged on the wall. Would Teito respond to the summons or ignore him? He wasn't sure.

Juran leaned back against the wall and closed his eyes, drew in a deep ragged breath. God, this was hell! He was a bit surprised when Teito turned up at his door, he'd half expected the guy to just ignore him - he would have done. "I got up to watch the fight" he stated in a slightly gravely voice. "Help me back to the bed. Then look in that cool box in the corner. I keep protein shakes in there, drink one after each fight. Take one."

Juran hated being so helpless and vulnerable like this,he hated needing help and hated even more having to admit it. It wasn't like him to ask for help, especially from a virtual stranger, usually he'd had pridefully struggled back to his bed slowly and painfully even if it took him half a hour to go six feet. He couldn't ever remember a time he'd actually willingly summoned company. He hated company. But for some unknown, inexplicable reason, he rather liked the idea of having Teito there. "He got drunk and killed the boss's dog" Juran told him in reply to his query. When he turned down the offer of the protein shake he shrugged. "Suit yourself. I always need that little protein boost after a fight."

Juran leaned back on the pillows and sighed. He shook his head. "Just some mutt. Boss loved that dog though. He took it real personal" he told the other. He chuckled when Teito asked if he was a masochist, keep moving around. "Or something" he nodded with a wry grin. "Don't want to stiffen up. I hate laying down too long, I hate staying still. And not one sod has bothered to see if I need anything. I could starve in this room and they'd not know. What I wouldn't do for a burger right now! And take the bloody shake. They're good for you. You've a real fight tomorrow, you need your strength. Kade didn't stand a chance - you're light and quick - but tomorrow's likely to be a contender who's more of a challenge."
