It was true, it WAS a one time thing but then again, looking her over, she was cute and it may be a one off thing but he wouldn't mind if something else became of it...granted, he had to get through tonight first and something told him he might never see her again if he ends up making too much of fool out of himself "true, we can leave the kids out of this" he said as he opened up a portal behind him and moved out of the way "well then, lets go meet the parents shall we?" He asked as he gestured towards the portal "it is safe, don't worry, just walk through and you will practically be on the other side" he said, knowing that meeting the parents may be a bit forward but hey, he needed to keep up appearances and he needed to tell them this was better then just popping his head through and saying he wouldn't be there and closing the portal, at least he is actually giving them proof that he has a date. "That is, if you don't mind meeting the parents at least..."

Yukina didn't know what Winter was thinking and if she had she would have echoed it somewhat. She didn't mind his company and while looks weren't everything he was very handsome. Her eyes grew wide at the portal he made and then at him saying they should go meet his parents. "Aren't you jumping the gun ever so slightly?" She asked, "What are you going to tell them when they ask for my name."
It only dawned on her then that they had not once spoken of their names. "My name is Yukina. Very nice to meet you." She paused and gave a faint smile, "And help you too." She would follow him through the portal once she heard his name. It wasn't a big deal to her to meet his parents. After all its not like she knew what one was supposed to do on a date.

"Apologies, I am Winter, it is a pleasure to meet you, Yukina which is a beautiful name for a beautiful woman" he said smiling at her, yes he was usually not this forward and far more shier but hey, he was starting to feel a little more relaxed and thus a little more like himself and he was one to give compliments where they were due. The two stepped through and standing in front of them was a modern estate made out of stone "welcome to the family home" he said as he walked toward the three story estate "and I see father is here" he said as he gestured towards the snow falling over the place, unlike his mother, his father didn't like summer at all, if anything, his father could tolerate it less then what he could. "And yes, thank you so much for the help I am and I apologize for rushing into the whole parents thing but I swear, they are nice ponys, I know that it is not the way of doing things but I swear, we just need to say hi and leave, thats it, five minutes tops" he said as he got closer and heard voices inside "well, I guess my sisters are arguing already, Crystal probably stole Snow's hair brush again or something" he said with a sigh, SO pleased he wasn't going to be here. "If they ask who you are I tell them and just call you a friend, what they take from that is up to them" he said as he stopped at the door and took a deep breath and opened it "Crystal, Snow, can't you two stop fighting for two minutes?!" He said as the two stopped and glared at him. Snow and crystal looked at him in disgust but said nothing, it was a small improvement to always having to need to defend himself in some way when he came through the door, it was always some snide comment or remark about how he should be dead or whatever but now, thanks for them being in the real world, they had softened ever so slightly, Crystal more so then Snow but still it was a start. "Well, I see the runt has come home" Snow said as Crystal nodded "there is food involved, of course he did, and with Lemonade's ice cream how could he say no? That guy is addicted to that s**t, I am amazed he doesn't weigh a thousand pounds" Crystal added as they both turned and left. Winter sighed "and they would be my two older sisters, Snow is the one with the wings, Crystal is the earth, they have loved me since birth as you can tell" he said rolling his eyes as he looked to her "I'm sorry for that, they have gotten better but still, they hate me" he said as he gestured toward the kitchen "if there is one thing about my parents they will be in the kitchen, both of them, they may have separated but they both still love food and they both still love my mothers food." Winter said as he walked through the Entrance way, to the left of them were several doors leading to other places on the ground floor, a spiral staircase to the left of the front door and a doorless arch way leading to the dining room where there was a massive long oak table and chairs to fit a dozen ponys with a door leading to the backyard and one to the kitchen. "Mother and father always wished for us to move out but my sisters...they are too pampered, if they moved out they wouldn't know what to do with themselves but they now have jobs so that has knocked them down half a peg at least but they still have a long way to go" he said as he walked into the dining room and saw his parents sitting at the table "mother, are you actually having a CIVIL conversation with father?" He asked in surprise, this was new when she was the one who kicked him out. Frostbite smiled at their son "hi darling, yes, your father and I can still talk to each other without shouting but he still has a long way to go before I can ever forgive him and take him back, if ever" she said as she smiled down at Jack who then stood "though you can thank your grandmother and aunt for that" he said as he looked at the shocked look on his sons face. "I...I have a GRANDMOTHER AND AUNT!?" He asked as his father nodded "Yes but that is a surprise, your sisters don't know about that and so can we just leave it as a secret right now?" He said as he looked back at Frostbite "please excuse me, I best tend to my sister" he said as he walked out of the dining room and stopped when he saw another strange pony in the family home "hello, my dear, I take it you came with Winter?" He asked as Winter turned around "oh, father, mother, this is a friend of mine, Yukina, she is my date for this evening and why I am here" he said as his mother popped her head out the door and smiled at her "welcome, please, come in, are you going to be joining us for dinner also?" "Winter was about to say something when his mother pulled him toward the fireplace a little and left his new friend and his father alone "so, you never told us you had a girlfriend, she is lovely, at least to look at, you should of said you had plans." Winter sighed "you didn't let matinee" he said as he turned and walked back to Yukina "well, Yukina, if you want we can stop here for something to eat but I think you would probably want to make that matinee in Solstice wouldn't you?" He said, hinting that they had to go "just hope you will give me your blessing to take her to Solstice" he said to his father who nodded "sure, just tell them I let you take her there" he said, knowing that if anyone objected he would turn them into a Popsicle. ((She is more then welcome to stay for dinner if she wishes.))

She followed him through the portal and studied the three story estate. If the home was anything to go by Winter had a big family. Or one that needed lots of space. She smiled and shook her head seeing the snow. "I take it he cannot handle other seasons like we can?"
She followed him in and shook her head. "It really isn't much and honestly I don't know the proper way of doing these things so it's fine." She commented. She heard the arguing before seeing the sisters and just stared at them. She would have said something to defend Winter but seeing how she barely knew him she decided to just keep her mouth shut. When they left she looked at Winter with an 'are you serious' look. "Wow. I'm glad I only had my twin. Granted I got separated from them when I was so I can barely remember them. I don't know how you deal with sisters like that."
She looked around her as Winter led the way to the dining room. "Well from the sounds of your sister it seems like they could use less pampering and more a** kicking." She said coldly. She stopped just outside the room held back by a nervous feeling. Suddenly another pony appeared, after an outburst from Winter, and her eyes grew wide. He was gorgeous and clearly related to Winter. She walked into the room when another pony popped her head out to greet her. "Ah... hello." She said falling back onto her usual ways. Yes clearly these two were Winter's parents and it made her feel small and inadequate as a girlfriend (even a fake one like she was) and mother. Clearly Winter's mother cared for him and it made her hope that was how other ponies saw her with her kids.
Hearing Winter speak snapped her out of her thoughts. "Oh right. We really do need to get going. Wouldn't want to miss that matinee and we can always eat later." She said wondering what was up with this matinee thing and Solstice place. She fell silent for a moment and then remembered she should use her manners and such. "Thank you for the offer though. Perhaps another time." Great that surely wouldn't come back to bite her in the butt. Maybe the parents would miss that last sentence or maybe things with Winter will naturally go that way.

"It does do that at times, never could keep that side of me in check" he said softly laughing "and you could say that, my father grew up in the snowy plains in Arcadia so his whole family, that we don't really know much about, he never speaks about them" he said with a sigh, often wondering where his family ended up, it would have been nice to know more about them but his father just didn't want to and they knew better than to pry...well, they knew he killed his father but besides that, everything else about his family was never spoken of. "I am sorry for your loss, maybe one day you will find your twin" he said smiling softly at her "and I know, they do and this is why I stick with Lemonade, my other sister, she is accepted by them but she would rather not be, she pretty much stands up to them for me. The story behind that though is basically, besides father, no other boys allowed in their lives, so when they heard they were having younger siblings and one was a boy it basically was instant hate, they pretty much want an all girl family, never going to happen, but they want to believe that if they pray hard enough it will happen, no more boys being born into this family." He said with a sigh as he smiled at his parents "Mother, Father, sorry I can't be here but we do have to go" he said as he started to turn and leave when the door opened which just made him smile "my favorite sister has arrived, there you go, Father, you can now dote on her" he said smiling at his parents as he started toward them. "That is fine" Jack said, smiling at the mare as they started to leave and then grinned when he saw his grandchildren and youngest daughter before stopping and sighed and turned around and went to the kitchen, maybe there was something there he could nibble at. Blueberry sighed as she walked in, REALLY not wanting to be here but it was a family dinner and she was family so she had to be here, the saving grace? Grandmothers cooking "grandmother, hello" she said smiling at her as she saw Winter "Uncle Winter!" She said as she ran toward him and basically pounced on him, pushing him back and falling onto the floor "I hardly see you any more! You need to come around home more often!" She said as she nuzzled him. Winter chuckled as he nuzzled his niece "I do, I do miss spending time with your mother" she he said as they both got up "but I have to go, I have a date tonight" he said smiling at her and gesturing toward the mare "this is Yukina, we have reservations in half an hour, can't be late" he said as Blue nodded and moved out of the way as the rest of her sibblings came through the door, followed by her parents. "Darmani" he smiled and nodded hi as he walked past and then saw his sister in all her glory "and my dearest sister" he said as he walked toward her and nuzzled her "how have you been Lem?" He asked as he kissed her cheek. "Busy but coping" she said as said as she nuzzled her brother "I have missed you" she said as she stayed nuzzling him a little longer then she should. "I know but I promise to come and see you soon" he said as he nipped playfully at his ear "but I best be go...oh wait, Lemonade, meet Yukina, she will be accompanying me tonight to dinner and a show" he said as he gestured to her "Yukina, this is Lemonade, the nice sister and the maker of the most awesome ice cream ever!." Lemonade blushed a little but kept herself composed "hi, Yukina, it is a pleasure to meet you."

Yukina smiled at his reply to her comment about his charming side. It fade slightly as he continued. Not knowing about family was something she also knew. "Well maybe it's better he doesn't speak of them or perhaps he will in time." She said somewhat awkwardly in her comforting.
She shook her head at his 'sorry'. "Don't be. While sometimes I miss them I can honestly say I don't remember them enough to truly miss them." She explained with a snort, "Heaven forbid that boys invade their lives. What are they going to do when they fall in love with a male?"
She stepped back some when more ponies arrived and then Winter was all but tackled to the ground. She nodded at the female who had called Winter uncle and then to the others as they came. She certainly hoped they would leave soon. She wasn't used to this many ponies or being so social. "Hello Lemonade. Nice to meet you as well." She trailed off not sure what else to say.((Honestly about Yukina's twin... I cannot remember who it is. XD I won her in cyo plushie event a few years ago and since the breed was rolled for seryph another had to made with her but I don't remember who won. So yeah she has a twin out there somewhere.))

((Lets just fast forward a little shall we? Get past the family dinner XD )) "I guess it is a bitter sweet thing then, but who knows, life is fully of wonderful and strange things so you may one day" he said about her twin "and perhaps, lets just hope as it would be interesting to know" he said as he chuckled "this is Snow and Crystal we are talking about, they don't want mates and even if they did no one would want them, after they realize no one can match up to daddy and his status in Arcadia we are pretty much looking at two woman who will forever be single" he said as he walked to the door and waited. Lemonade moved out of the way and let her pass "perhaps we may see more of you, it is nice to see my brother possibly finding love, he deserves it" she said as she turned and ran over to her kids "Cadbury get off grandfathers favorite chair!" She said as she pulled him down, and to think this guy was meant to be an adult, not one who likes to jump on furniture. Winter smiled at his sister and her family one last time then opened the portal to Solstice "after you, my dear" he said smiling at his date. ((Bah, silly people running away from the shop and never returning!))

She nodded and then let out a small laugh. "Yes when you put it that way I have to agree that they will be single forever." She said while passing Lemonade. She was glad Lemonade ended up moving away so quickly otherwise she might have noticed the small look of shock and then a light blush.
Then Winter was opening a portal and waiting for her to walk through. She did so and when she was in Solstice she turned to him. "Um..... do you think we'll be here long? I only have someone watching the kids until nightfall." She didn't want to keep the foal sitter waiting as it was possible they wouldn't watch her kids again.((I think it went to someone who is pretty regular here but it's been three years now and I can't find the thread in the guild for it))

((It's a shame when stuff like that happens, I have given away several babies only to never see the owners again and some were regs.)) "Well, if you want, you are more then welcome to go and get them if you wish, they can always join us, besides, there is a rather toy shop in Solstice I am sure they will love" he said, not minding buying them a little something, besides, it would be nice to see them, sure something or nothing might happen between him and his mother but the least that will happen will be a friendship between the two and friends are more then welcome to buy friends kids a gift or two right?

She paused and looked over at him. "Are you sure?" She asked with a small laugh, "Oh I'm sure they would love a toy shop. They are kids after all." She thought about it for a few minutes and then nodded. "Yes why don't we go get them. I'm sure they'd like to come and get away from home." She stopped and looked at him, "Um but how are we going to get there? Are you able to open a portal there without knowing the exact location?"((Yeah it is))

Winter smiled at her "I am positive, be fun to be around kids again, it has been a while since I have seen them, my sisters last lot are all grown now so they can join us" he said as he nodded "and believe me, I have been over this world a hundred times, I am pretty certain I know where every nook and cranny is, I have a good memory for these sorts of things, all I need to do is think and the portal appears or if I don't know the EXACT place I can get it pretty close to the location so we will at least be in the vicinity of the place. Either that or we just walk it, I am assuming it is in Dream Valley?"

She listened to Winter talk and nodded. "It is fun to be around kids. Never would have thought so before I had my kids." She said, "Well traveled huh. And yes we live in Dream Valley. Near the mountains there. Hm.... I don't think there's anything else that sticks out near home. We're more in the valley part and not by the coast." If he could get them near the mountains she could at least point them in the right direction and they could walk.

"When you lived with two ugly sisters you tend to do a lot of walking so I got out of the house a lot and if it wasn't going to my sisters house it was just walking around everywhere between here and Nightmare and everything else in between" he said as he thought of the mountains and opened a portal "after you" he said as he gestured her through.

((Hope you don't mind but I'm going to skip ever so lightly)) "Ah yeah a good incentive to get out and travel." She said with a small nod. She walked through the portal and looked around. Yep these were the mountains and from what she could tell they were some distance from her home. "Well looks like we have a walk in store." She commented before setting off in the direction of home.
After walking some ways they passed by a small stream. "We should be nearly there." She said continuing on. Soon voices could be heard coming from beyond a small grove of trees. "Ah sounds like they're giving him some trouble." She murmured. She walked through the grove and came upon the sight of two little foals standing on top of a unicorn who was laying on the ground.
"And what do you two think you are doing?!" She said loudly.Of all the ones to freak out over Yukina suddenly appearing it did not seem right that it was the adult who was laying on the ground. Fannar jumped up, knocking the kids to the ground, and looked horrified/ashamed. "Yu-yu-yukina! I didn't expect you back so soon! And nothing was happening! Just playing is all....." He stammered before realizing he didn't need to explain himself to her as she hadn't been about to scold him and was giving him an odd look."MOM! You're back! We defeated Fannar in battle! It was great!" Nobuyuki called out running up to his mother. It was then he noticed the stranger and stared at him suspiciously. "Who is he? Do you need help mother?!" He asked moving to block her from Winter. Syndkina was still in a heap on the ground from Fannar suddenly standing up. He snickered at the babysitter's stammering and then got up. He walked over to his brother and mother before eying the new pony. "He doesn't look too tough. I think we can take him brother."

Winter followed the other and as he came upon the scene he couldn't help but smile, those two really would get on great with Lem's youngest, she is as much 'trouble' as what these two seem to be but he stayed back and smiled at the children but said nothing, he was a guest here, he bit his tongue and waited till he was allowed to speak.
