When he recovered, Umber steadied himself with a hand against the wall while he turned to view his attackers. 'Aegir' looked ready to faint, as expected - and Umber considered writing him off, were it not for the few bodily lunges he was still capable of. The page knew nothing of what transpired between them, if the senshi's words were any indication - which suggested he had little to no combat practice beyond basic self-defense. Incapacitating the page meant two left for corruption.
And attacking the pair together meant he risked losing his life over a gamble.
Another step confirmed that his inner ear was thrown off by the force of impact. Umber hissed through his teeth, a snarl that spoke of irritation. The odds stood against him.
I'll hold out until someone arrives to corrupt the blonde one. Reinforcements should be a certainty.
Without declaration, he dug in heels and sprinted toward the pair, dropping into a slide in hopes of impacting one of the page's ankles. Incapacitating his moment was the first step in securing him as a second corruptible commodity. Attempts toward his starseed for immediate effect would meet with increased guard, certainly. And staying on the ground meant that his dizzy spell hampered him less.
It was only a matter of hoping that the senshi would pass out before he could impart further harm.
