Casseth opened his eyes as Lith stepped in front of him, brows pinched together. At Lithian’s request he gave a small nod and moved forward with the tug. He tucked his face against Lith’s neck, arms wrapping around and holding him close. “I’m sorry, Lithian,” he said quietly.

“Sor—? You’re—? No, Casseth, I…” Lithian flushed, but let the words trail off. They weren’t important, in any case. While he still hoped for reconciliation with his own mother, one day, it was a distant — if not, in his mind, entirely impossible — hope, dwarfed by current matters. Here, now, Casseth was far more important than anything else, and these were happy moments. So, he let his arms wrap around his mate, holding him in and shutting his own eyes as he kissed the top of his forehead. “I love you, Casseth,” he murmured. “And I could not imagine myself happier than I am now…we…can build their crib together?”

“I love you too, Lithian. So very much.” His arms tightened around his mate, not willing to let go any time soon. Despite the small fight they’d had, Casseth couldn't think of anywhere he’d rather be, at that moment, than in Lith’s arms. He was home here, where he belonged. When Lith suggested that they could build the cribs together, Cas blinked and pulled back. “You...want to…” A small smile curled up the corners of Cas’ lips and he nodded. “I would love that.”
