Candypop is a very kind and sweet girl with a heart of gold, despite a painful past and her few problems. She is always willing to make new friends and will try her best to liven up a room if the mood is dark. Extremely loyal to her friends and morals, Candy has the tendency to become quite bitchy if either become threatened. Though she dislikes fighting, she will do so if needed.She believes that love is not to be limited by gender.
Her most dangerous problem is her pyromania. Her love for glowsticks (and anything glowy and shiny) is nothing compared to her love for fire. When near it, she seems to go into a daze and, if not stopped, will touch it and, if it’s big enough, jump into it. If she is stopped, she will settle for watching it until it dies out. In the case of candles, this could take hours. If she is interrupted, prepare for bitchiness. Should she get ahold of a lighter or matches, she will light whatever will combust on fire. This has led to a house burning. Thankfully, most people know to keep her away from matches and lighters, and no more houses have burned (yet). She does try to keep herself at bay with incense.
Candypop has a slight case of ADD, simply because many things are simply not interesting or challenging enough for her. At times it seems like ADHD, but that’s not quite true. She’s nearly ALWAYS hyperactive.
She also has a bit of a depression issue. Sometimes a memory she has tried so hard to rid of will spring up and cause this usually happy-go-lucky girl to become depressed and nearly suicidal.
Along with this, Candy is selectively Bipolar. This means that she is only bipolar around certain types of people. In this case, people she absolutely loathes. This is all only an act, but she pulls it off so well that people have become utterly convinced that she is extremely bipolar. When she truly loathes someone (Say, her mother or foster parents), She will switch between violent, childishly happy, depressed, and angry several times within about 20 minutes or so. This has led to many people not noticing the times when she is TRULY depressed.

Candypop was born with the name Jessica Jacquelyn Cantu. Her mother was a prostitute who got pregnant by one of her customers. Her mother never had time for her, so Jessica was almost always alone in her mother's shitty apartment watching kid's shows with her mother in the next room with whatever man she had. When Jessica was old enough to go to school, she went only every other week since her mom was usually too lazy and 'working' too much to take her. But Jessica read and learned on her own during her elementary and middle school years. During that time she realized what it was her mom did in her bedroom with those men, and was practically horrified.
When her high school years came, she was introduced to something that calmed her; Trance music. She filled her CD's with this music and listened to it constantly. She died her hair teal with purple/magenta streaks and began wearing different-colored contacts. One day at school she got an invitation to 'Dementia', a Rave party. She was hesitant to go, so she kept ignoring the invitation until the day before.
That night, her mother was late from working the streets, and her at-home client arrived. She calmly explained that her mother was working late, but for some reason the man was anxious. He cornered her and was ripping her clothes off when her mother arrived. Instead of helping her daughter, she flopped down on the bed and turned on the TV. Jessica cried out as the man thrust her down to the floor, but still her mother did nothing. Just as she was about to get raped, Jessica bit him and hit him with a pack of glow sticks she had just bought. As he reeled from the pain, Jessica took off, grabbing a sheet to wrap her near-naked body with. She made her way to her high school and sat near the front door, crying.
As the sun rose, she was found by one of her classmates who immediately took her to his house. There, she was treated warmly by him and his mother. She was given clothing that his mother had from her oldest daughter and she was offered their spare bedroom. She accepted, only because she had no other choice, and didn't want to go back to her whore of a mother.
As class ended, she followed her friend to where the rave was being held and met his friends there. The girls immediately took her to the bathroom and applied makeup and gifted her with multi-colored bead bracelets and glow sticks. The party went on until morning and Jessica was never happier. She had new friends, and she was going to start a new life. But she vowed to never touch ecstasy. Ever. She began a new life with a new name; Candypop
She continued attending raves with her friend, living at his house and going to school with him. They never evolved their relationship, except for when they got out of control at raves and made out with each other. But that was all waved off. Her life was going great until one month before her 17th birthday.
On her way to school, she met her mother again. She told her daughter she was going to go to the police to get her back, and that she was sorry for 'whatever she had done'. Enraged, Candypop pushed her mother down and ran to the school, praying she'd forget. But she was called to the principal's office and was forced to go home with her mother. She did at first, but at night she snuck out to her friends' house to go to their weekly rave. When she got there, he greeted her with a hug and a kiss, and for the first time she felt feelings for him. When they got to the rave, Candypop was confused about her feelings towards him and didn't pay attention to the people around her. When she got to the snack bar, she didn't notice that what she picked up was a cupcake on the 'loaded' side. She ate it, then went to go glow sticking with some friends. After a few minutes, she began acting giddy and silly with them, rubbing on the girls and touching the guys. When they all took a break, she went and sat by her friend. She began to have those feelings for him again and started kissing him, him kissing her back as they usually did. But they didn't stop after that moment, they went the whole night rubbing on each other and kissing and doing things they normally would not have done. At the end of the night they went home like normal, and slept. But his night, they slept in the same bed, holding each other tight. Candypop went to sleep with tears in her eyes and his lips touching hers gently.
When they awoke, Candypop was questioned by her friend, and realized what she had done. He said it was fine, but she was horrified with herself, thinking she had acted like her mother. Worse, he acted like it was no big deal; He obviously did not return her feelings, and this made her heart, and head, hurt. She took Advil before school, but instead of taking only one, she took 5. She walked out the door ten minutes later, and then collapsed. Taken to the hospital, she laid in that room, wondering where her life had gone. Her friends visited her with new glow sticks and bracelets, and the teachers did as well. Her friend never left her side except at night when he had to leave. But she got a visitor she didn't want.
Her mother once again tried to get back in her life, but Candypop would have none of it. Angered, her mother came back while she was asleep, and injected something in her IV drip, then ran.
Although sick for many, many months, Candypop eventually made a full recovery. But due to the fact that her mother was now in jail, she was forced to go to a foster home. While there, she was treated like a maid. It was then that she began acting bipolar. It worked, and soon she was sent to...another foster home. At this one, she actually felt like she belonged, due to the couple's real son, James. He preferred to be called DJ Daiquiri and soon enough, Candy felt like she had a real brother. But then, he was sent away after coming out of the closet to his parents. Candy begged and pleaded with them to accept him, but they would have none of it, and began to abuse her, thinking James' homosexuality was her fault.
