The jostling the van took when the tires blew out had earned him a few bruises, but otherwise Anadii was perfectly healthy if one ignored the numerous chips and electronic implants he had... The restart process lasted all of a few minutes before his markings began to light up again in a slow fading pattern. Once they were solidly lit, he opened his eyes, blinking a few times as the pupils adjusted to the light overhead.

He reached out mentally (Technokinesis lv5), looking for some sort of connection to the web, some way to figure out where he was and-- finding nothing, realized he was missing the last few hours from his memory bank.

These people were not his administrators, nor were they Teldhet operatives... had he been sold? He couldn't recall- no sales records had been slid through his filter, but then again, if they were going to sell him would they have told him...? Probably not. Either way, he couldn't function without an administrator.

After moments of silence, he shifted a little to sit up on his own, eyeing the two Metas. "Please register your administrator names."

Since they were teleported in a mad dash to Norcrest neither of them carried any electronics other than the slowly flagging battery of the two comms at their ears and two cell phones that were completely shut down currently to prevent tracking.

"A few bruises but I don't... " he frowned "lots of implants. I can just tell they are there.." he muttered with his eyes closed, wanting to reach out and touch the area where the implant was but doesn't.

"He's flickering...." Tri muttered a warning as he stared at the flickering meta down on the green.

Ree opened his own eyes and pulled back, watching him. "I don't think he's in distress..at least not physically. Mentally not sure " the glow in his eyes dull slightly thinking about Hexxis and Spectrum and what they did to her t think she was a robot. Maybe that had happened here? even so unlike Hexxis there was a lot of machine parts.

Tri tensed as he watched the lights turn solid green and the other meta sat up slowly. The same thoughts as Ree passing through his mind as he waited, trying to remember the origin of the symbol he saw on the side of the car. It was familiar..they tried to capture them, they actually gave warning hm. Obviously not Haven and the meta was uncollared or seemingly physically restrained.

"Please register your administrator names."

Tri and Ree blinked and looked at each other then back. He was like acomputer...was that his item? Narrowing his eyes at Ree, the other meta narrowed them back at him. Darn it..why did he think it would be easy? "Trisuri " He muttered at the circuit board meta, not sure what they were getting themselves. For all they knew they were cativating a kill command or adding themselves to a list

"Ree" Ree said a moment later and neither said anything, watching the other meta curiously to see what he would do with that information. Not what they were expecting to meet when they left Norcrest that morning but the other meta had piqued their curiosity...not acting as they expecting after a situation like that one. It was the same monotone voice that had warn them to surrender.

Anadii blinked after each name was given, eyes flashing as if a camera had gone off just before each one. "Administrator Trisuri registered. Administrator Ree registered." Now that that was handled... the strange hum in the back of his mind deadened, leaving him at optimal functioning condition according to his internal diagnostics. Good.

"I am Anadii, your personal computer. Would you like to establish commands?" The question was barely recognizable as one with the terrible monotone he used. It seemed that unless they told him they needed to move, he was going to go through the entire set-up process... Which could take a terribly long time for two people that had no idea what he was doing...

Anadii was meet with silence as both metas stared quietly at him. Ree ruffled his feathers in discomfort as Tri frowned. Both their minds focused on the commands that were on Hexxis and the fight and result that caused.

"F1 Help" Ree muttered quietly, more in joke than anything else as he took a step forward and crouched down near eye level. "Can registration sequence be placed on hold until another time?" Playing along but also stepping out of the box. If the me- Anadii was being tracked then they were wasting time.

Tri glanced up at Ree silently and let out a soft sigh. He would have likely played along, if only out of curiosity. Still, they were wasting time and it's been days since they should have started looking for Hexxis.

Anadii, Personal computer, was it like that because of it item, assuming it was a computer, or was it from mental programing or possibly a bit of both? "Correct, we need to leave but we want to ask you a few questions. " or was it moot now if they just registered themselves as administrators. Would it do the same with anyone else if it was seperated? Was this normal...or did they just "unknowingly" blinded someone to them. Binding them to save them, or did they save them? Maybe it was safe where it was before and they just pull it away from its family. "Such as why did you register us as administrators?"

"And do you know if you have a tracking device on you?" Ree added with a flicker of worry, they relied on their hearing ability to hear bugs, but when a meta had so many implants and was a consistent hum to them, there was no way for them to know.

Anadii blinked again, but otherwise remained motionless as Ree approached and crouched down. "Help menu accessed. When would you like to be reminded to finish the sequence?" Another blink at the next question as Anadii tilted to look at Tri more directly. "An administrator is necessary to perform essential functions. A computer does not work without a user." Anadii nodded, then looked back to Ree.

Its eyes flashed a little as it searched itself for tracking devices. "I have three devices that may be accessed to discern my location. Would you like to disable them?" Once more, Anadii's voice remained flat despite the question. It had never been asked to wait to set up administrator profiles before, but it supposed that would be fine. They were already registered by name and face, after all.

"Yes!"
"Yes"

Tri sighed softly "A computer..." He muttered, watching Anadii tiredly as if its words brought everything that had happen in the last few days crashing down on him. "Anadii...I am going to ask you a series of questions " if what he guessed was true then this won't be as odd as it would on a normal person...not if he was like Hexxis and it would save them time. "Why did you attack us earlier?" First question "What company do you work for? And do you wish to return? "

Ree glanced between them, smiling faintly at the irony that there was a help menu before looking serious again. A user... they were now its user? Giving Tri a questioning look he started to say something and just shook his head.

"Tracking devices disabled. If you would like to enable them at a later date, state "enable tracking" while in the help menu." Anadii turned to look at Tri once more, blinking slowly at the questions. They were simple enough, it supposed they would want to know such things since they were organics...

"I was following protocols set by my previous administrator. Detain all subjects with active warrants on sight. I am registered property of Teldhet Operatives, however I am outside of my operating zone and no longer have contact with my previous administrators. As of the moment of registration, you are my current administrators and may alter my registration. Computers do not "wish" for anything." Surprisingly Anadii managed to maintain monotone throughout the entire monologue, never once changing in expression or fluctuating in tone. Except-- perhaps, if one looked closely, a small twitch of the eye when it mentioned that computers do not wish.

That is not part of your protocol.

"Do you have further questions?"

Ree blinked and narrow his eyes faintly at the last part of that sentence with a faint twitch of his lips.

Tri nodded slowly as he listened, Teldhet, that was the name of the company he was trying to remember. Upstart company, small file of possible contacts for SIU. That is why it seemed familiar. This was one of their metas...normally he would return it but...that was not an option now. Closing his eyes he took a breath and released it before opening his eyes again.

"Warn me if there are any trouble with these commands. Alert me or Ree to any warrants or bounties in our vicinity as well as mercenary groups or hunters we may pass. Revoke access to previous administrators and users. Do not add new administrators or users without confirmation of current. Warn of any attempts to contact or hack. " he paused thinking, ticking things off with his fingers. "We do not have the time or inclination to return you, if you fe- think there is any reason you need to return including family tell us now. " already thinking of how to use it. Anadii was being used by Teldhet and now it was with them, it could be useful in helping them find Hexxis.

Anadii listened as Tri listed off his commands, mentally running through its base programming. Most were fine, but it could not function without any administrators should it become separated from them... "Affirmative. I will notify you should we come into contact with any fugitives. I have also increased my firewall, no outside investigation can proceed without my granting access. I will notify you if someone attempts to access my memory files." It blinked, then paused for a moment to consider how to specify that it couldn't label them as its /only/ administrators ...

"Previous user permissions have been revoked and deleted. I cannot maintain you as the only administrators should I become separated without any way to connect with you. I do not have permissions to run on my own. I will not return to Teldhet without instructions to do so. Computers do not have family." There. That would do it.

PostPosted: Sun May 29, 2016 4:48 pm

Tri have Anadii an intense look as he listened "The permissions to run on your own. Can those files be deleted or changed without side-effects? " his mind running on the possibilities of what might happen and what he would actually need right now. He almost felt guilty but not quite.

Ree stood up and held his hand out toward Anadii as he and Tri talked. Computers do not have families nor do Computers wish. If he had to guess..he would assume that the meta has been partially brain washed and might not be programing from the item after all.

Anadii blinked, lights flickering for a moment as if it were trying to compute what Tri had asked. Be its own administrator? Was that allowed? It had never had those permissions in the past... It ran through its coding, searching for an answer...

There was none.

Logically a computer cannot control itself.
You will not have to listen to them

"I do not know." It answered truthfully, as it was programmed to do. "I have never been given administrator access. Do you wish to enable?"

You are not capable.

Tri looks at him intently thinking about what he would be doing and the possibility that it might make Anadii unusable as well. Normally he would have broken the program, but they were hunted and where hunting someone. So Anadii appearance seemed to good to be true, still he was going to take advantage of it.

"Enable normal user access for yourself. Superseded by myself or Ree " he said compromising with himself by allowing it the ability to be itself but also keeping a handle on it should there be trouble.

Ree looked faintly curious but didn't argue, until moments ago it was trying to capture them. He lowered his hand when it didn't seem Anadii would take it and just took a step back with a sigh.

Amazing. This new administrator trusted it with control over itself. "Understood. Administrator Anadii registered with l̩i̤̤͙̖̘̱̟m͉̮͟i͙̬͙̖̤t̨̮̪̲̙̭͕a̰̰͖̪͖̻͔t͉̞̜̲̤̦͢i̶̮͓̮̝͉ó̬̦̣̠͚̪ͅn͙s̵--" Its voice faltered as soon as the permissions were granted, eyes and markings flashing with light as it seemed to freeze in place. So much access. So much to see-- new parts of its memory bank - new access to base codes... So much was kept from them before.

You cannot handle this.

After a moment of mental floundering, Anadii finally managed to ground itself in reality, only just then noticing Ree's hand. "Ah, I did not see your hand. Did you wish to register your fingerprints?" It tilted its head, continuing on as if it hadn't malfunctioned for a moment.

Carry on and perhaps you will not be punished.

Tri blinked when the lights started flashing between the marking and eyes as the other meta froze in place. That was not good, was it going to do another reboot? Comparing it to an overloaded cpu was the only thing that came to mind.

Ree blinked and held his handout again to Anadiis. "Uh no. Just helping you get up?" there was a faint smile but it look like he was uncertain watching his face trying to get an idea of what it was thinking but it was more closed off then Tri or Hexxis..or was it like Hexxis and barely even felt it's emotions. "How are you feeling?"

Anadii blinked, examining the hand for a moment before placing one of its own on top of it... It had witnessed the other Teldhet operatives do this in the past... Was it okay to do it now that it was also an administrator? So many questions were coming to mind - questions it never would have even fathomed existing before - and it had no way of answering them without asking...

"I do not feel." It answered flatly, tilting its head to one side. "Machines do not feel. I do not know if granting administrative privileges somehow changes that fact." Honestly it was starting to become aware of... something. It just wasn't sure what yet... Much like the hum that caused its earlier restart, it was beginning to sense what it could only call a system compromise - but it could't figure out where it had been compromised...
