I'll keep that one in my pocket for a rainy day." But it's a deal, and he honors his side of it. "The patrons have it in their best interests to lie to you," says the survivor. "But one of them in particular is the least trustworthy. Examine your information closely; you might find some of it conflicts."

jeremiah mercer || 27/27 || jer stop No one really cares about what the Spinel Lady thinks about politics, least of all Jeremiah. He does not even bother trying to approach the Sinister Survivor with this poor attempt of gossip and hangs back until he catches a better story.

jeremiah mercer || 27/27 || telling a story of transformation "I admit this information may be dated, but ..." Jeremiah begins speaking about how he found an elven woman who told him of a story of a transformation. There was once a young otherbeing with the Court of the Sorrowful One, one whom no one ever paid attention too. Quite young, they skirted by without notice until one day it seemed as if it was their time. What had been worth ignoring turned out to be a caterpillar that turned into a beautiful butterfly - literally so. Said beautiful butterfly never let it be known that she was once the laughing stock of the court but there were those that remembered that once upon a time she was bottom of the barrel, it seemed. And were resentful for it.

[ Temperance: 25/25 telling what everyone knows] Temperance had no idea what kind of gossip the man might like. 'The Eldritch Gent says you swap spit' was hardly of note. Finally, she settled on the ball itself, and the murder about to take place. After all, she'd heard several guests speaking of nothing else, including a large sort of elephantine creature and something that looked like a slip of cloth but spoke in a deep, rumbling voice. But as she spoke, he waved her off with a reminder that murder in this manner was hardly polite conversation.

[ Temperance: 25/25 leans against a wall and yawns] "Hey, hey, you look new, drazinlir." Temperance turned and faced the writhing mass wrapped up in a trench coat. "Let me tell you a few things before you get in too fhakti, okay?" And the simultaneous noise of fifty=seven voices speaking at once told a tale of illicit love affairs. Temperance listened intently, even when the creature spoke words clearly in some other language. She was no language student, but she could figure out the gist. After a brief farewell, she headed back to the gentleman, waiting patiently for him to finish speaking to his companion. "Hey, did you hear-?"

The sinister survivor says, "The ideal end to the night is one where no one dies, isn't that your opinion? But consider this: a death on the night of the red moon often sticks. It may be a good time to do away with someone dangerous. Perhaps even someone... spooky?"
