Even without her phone, Ethiriel had a general sense of direction with the immediate area so long as she knew her starting point. On top of that, Nedhudir knew the area as well. Pocketing her phone then, the Sigel kept her arm looped around Dair's despite being led comfortably by her collie.

While Dair's arms were generally quite tense as it was, covered in bark, the silver Raevan felt the Frei's upper arm shift and the turning of his head. With her chin up, Ethiriel trained her eyes forward rather than glancing fruitlessly at her friend. The attempt to sound reassuring was almost foolproof, but something nagged at the Sigel and she could feel a great unease within Dair.

"What is it...?" she asked softly, pulling herself closer to her friend. Ethiriel remained calm and collected, having not heard or caught scent of anything strange, but Dair's discomfort was obvious. As if in reaction, the sweet scent of tea surrounded the two of them, slowly at first, before attempting to break into the tree's mind and calm him.

He was quiet for a long while, the only sign he had heard Eth's question was a long, quiet sigh. It was a loaded question, he wasn't even sure if there was something to talk about, and if there was, he couldn't even begin how to think how to describe it.

"It's..." Again another lengthy pause as he struggled to find a way to put it into words. "Probably nothing? It feels like something's not right but..." Again he shrugged, though it felt a lot less tense than he had a moment ago. "I don't really have much to compare it to, so I couldn't really say." Despite the obvious unease he had about the subject, he couldn't help but relax slightly at the rather soothing smell of tea that began to surround them.

Ethiriel remained quiet for Dair, allowing him to get this thoughts straight as they floated along - the only sound accompanying them other than surrounding nature being Nedhudir's nails clicking against the sidewalk. She wasn't sure if it was exactly something the Frei wanted to talk about given his disposition on the matter, so she merely nodded her head and looked forward. "Whatever it may be, I hope you ease."

Perhaps she should change the subject.

"I know I keep saying it, but I am glad that you are here. Your company is always appreciated, I hope you know." A smile was clear in Ethiriel's voice, even if Dair wasn't looking. "I am sure that Henry has extended the offer to both Nell and yourself, but you are welcomed to come by at any time."

Dair ducked his head with a smile, giving Eth's arm a soft squeeze as they continued down the sidewalk. "Thank you, I appreciate the offer. You are, of course, welcome to stop by our home as well if you wish." His worries about the previous subject weren't gone necessarily, but they felt....less. He floated a bit higher, as if his worries had been a physical weight, and he took a deep breath, breathing in the scent of...

...Tea.

Not something one often smelled outside, especially not as strong as this. He slowed to a stop, though he didn't leg to of Eth's arm, so she could either stop with him or simply keep going and tug him along after her. "That's you, isn't it?" It was not the most descriptive question he could have asked, but he was a bit too surprised to think of anything better to say.

She had been practicing controlling her pheromones, using them when she sensed someone needed, but a lot of the time they were still an instinctual and involuntary reaction. This time, it had been her, so she knew what Dair meant as he asked. Ethiriel slowed when he did, keeping their arms linked even as they ceased moving entirely, and she turned to face him better.

"Yes," she responded simply, her expression soft and serene. The Sigel lightly rubbed her friend's arm to further the comforting sensation. "I am learning to perfect it, so I am glad to hear that it is at least this effective." She wasn't sure if it was necessarily working insofar as actually calming Dair, but he was able to notice a difference at all, so that was a sign. "It is a... wish of mine, to be able to ease the souls of those around me. Even if it is only by just a little, I want to help."

"Huh," He began to float down the sidewalk once more, this time quite a bit slower than he had been. "Can everyone do something like that? Not exactly the same, but..." It was a noble cause that she had, and something that he could certainly understand wanting to do as well, but any thoughts of altruism he had were overshadowed by some of the worries he had had earlier.

"How did you find out you could do that?" He spoke carefully, as if worried that approaching the subject too bluntly would scare it off. But at least he seemed to be a bit less tense than he was before, so it seemed like she was succeeding at what she set out to do.

Ethiriel kept her voice soft and gentle, an attempt to coax Dair into further comfort and control. She still wasn't sure of what was causing his anxiety, but the Sigel knew that if there was something she could do to fix it, she would. "All Raevans are capable of their own special abilities. I did not realize my own until quite a while after I came to be." The Raevan paused, considering her companion's second question as she lifted her chin in thought. "If I am remembering correctly, I came to realize by the comment of another friend. I could not control it when I was a young Frei, but he noticed it happening. Since then, I have learned to locate and use it. I am sure that you will come into your abilities when you are ready."

It was perhaps foolish to have expected an easy answer to this, but he still felt a bit disappointed that it seemed like the only advice he would probably get on the matter would be 'wait and see'. But that was hardly Ethiriel's fault. He gave her hand a gentle pat, glad for once that she couldn't see the fact that his smile wasn't wholly genuine. He had more questions, of course, but asking them would probably require him to tell her everything that was worrying, and that wasn't something that he felt up to at the moment.

"Well," he said with a huff of laughter, "I only hope I can live up to your expectations." But if what he thought was correct, he was sure everyone would be finding out if he did soon enough.

Dair seemed to be good at hiding the discomfort in his voice as Ethiriel hadn't been able to sense anything off without his smile being brought into question. He appeared to be calm once more, and with no way for the Sigel to know what he was feeling deep inside, she could only assume things were okay now.

"My expectations are not what one should strive for," Ethiriel teased, returning his pat with one of her own. "You should meet your own expectations for you are the only one who knows your boundaries. I made that mistake, myself... Only you can fully know yourself. Please do not destroy your happiness or comfort to please anyone but yourself."

Turning to face Dair, Ethiriel offered a gentle smile.

"Well," he said with a bark of laughter. "Hopefully I can figure that part out soon enough then." At the moment he generally didn't have any expectations for himself, save for the promise he made to Lorin earlier. But that, perhaps, was something that he should figure out relatively soon. Maybe he could figure that out along the way of figuring out is maybe-powers.

"Thank you for your advice, I appreciate it," he ducked his head slightly in a small bow, floating a bit lower for a moment as he did so to get the motion across to Eth.

The Sigel couldn't help but grin as Dair laughed, and in response her grip on his arm tightened in a hug. "There is plenty of time, so do not worry. Also... you should do that more often. It suits you quite well!" Ethiriel's voice was just barely teasing, but the sincerity came through very well. Laughter was good, and it sounded good on the Frei's voice. "There is no need to thank me. I may not have been around for as long as others, but I try to help when I can. Life can be difficult, and if I can ease it any... well, I strive for that."
