"Space pocket..." She said, her voice full of wonder and amazement at the very idea.

She looked around, once again, at the wide room that made up the bottom floor, with it's little office-like spaces off to the side, and sighed, trying to imagine it as a working observatory, bustling with living people, here to observe the skies above.

"Mmm... At least some of it. The top floor, it has an exposed platform for sky watching, with benches of carved stone and all... there are cushions on them, obviously to soften them, but... I touched one and it turned to dust. I think it's due to exposure and time... Cloth doesn't do well with exposure, it's why archaeologists have to be so careful when they find cloth. I think things can be treated to last longer, but... these cushions either went past their treatment's best by date, or they were not treated." She sounded a little sad, because she had not meant to destroy anything.

She smiled at him, and sighed. "No memories, as yet... But I did find a working elevator, that's how I got to the top. I haven't found stairs yet. I haven't had a LOT of time to explore. This is... actually my second trip here, and you're the only other one who's come here, with me. I noticed these side rooms seem to be offices... And I saw a lot of bookshelves with ancient looking books on them on the top floor. The half that isn't a platform has a telescope sticking out of a hole in the roof, and that room is where the bookshelves are. The elevator itself is... It's like a silver platform, but carved with delicate detailwork, though I'm not sure what the symbology on it means. Do you want to go up? I can show you the elevator, take you up. I haven't stopped at any of the other floors, yet."

"True, I just am trying to avoid destroying the ones that are here. If I can find a way to preserve them, for the sake of their beauty and history, I will. I know so little about what happened... But..." She gestured at the desks in the room, the way it looked like it had been a busy, bustling place, as if maybe this level had been used for some sort of administrative work, and yet nothing looked purely functional. It was all designed to be visually attractive, as well. "Beauty should not be needlessly destroyed." She finally managed to finish.

She blinked, and smiled, then led him back. "Over here." The platform was where she had left it, and she stepped on. "It can be a little noisy. I hope, sometime, to get someone who's good at elevator mechanics in to check, see if it needs any work. But it DOES work fine... I think it just needs oiling." She waited for him to join her on the platform, then tapped the control that went to the top.

"Oh, that would be lovely. If there's a Mauvian who can work it out, make sure it stays fully operational, I would be very appreciative of their assistance. Is there a way, do you know, of sending out a general message to the Order Mauvians to ask them?" She sounded curious. "I'm still learning so much of this stuff."

She blinked at the way he licked his hand, and all, and tried to figure out a way to tell him that humans didn't do that, then decided to leave it be... She had no idea if he went around amongst the regular civilians, so... Perhaps it did not matter.

"Since... July, I believe? Late July? Not very long. I'm still very new, still learning. And no, knights don't get made by Mauvians, or at least I didn't. Maybe others do, but what I've been told implies not. I became a knight when I... I guess you could say when I needed to do so. I saw a child being attacked by a youma and... I was desperate to help... And my weapon quite literally appeared in front of me. Almost smacked myself with it, by accident... Grabbed it, because I was surprised, and then, well. Powered up for the first time."

"Mostly learning what it means to be a Page, what I am supposed to do. Finding my purpose. Did you know, Pages basically are left to find all this out without any mechanism in place to really, properly, teach us? I was floundering."

"It's absolutely pure luck for us, as far as I have been able to tell... If you're lucky, you find a more experienced Knight to, at least, pump for information. But if not, you're left trying to figure it all out on your own." She paused, then tilted her head. "I've been told that some people learn some stuff from past life memories, but I... Have not had any, as yet, myself... And honestly? How much of the knowledge from millennia ago is dated and useless in our current social structure?"

She sighed, and smiled, a little weakly. "If we can find a way to catch new ones as they join us, that would be amazing. I only found out I even HAVE a Wonder because I met another knight, and he told me a decent amount. Until he did, I thought I was going mad, because the couplet to bring us here had been running through my head, leaving me going 'Where did these words come from!' and scared."

As the elevator came to a stop, she led him out, and into the room full of books and the Telescope. "So far, not much, and... no. Courts are groups, right? I only know one other knight. Met two Senshi, Nix and Sabine, but other then Gevaudan, no other knights." She went to the door to the platform, and opened it, staring out at the stars. "It's so strange, seeing different stars..."

"Yes, that would be lovely. And... I have no idea if we have some sort of leadership out there. Someone mentioned Camelot to me, but I have no idea who that is, or anything, so I don't know if they're actually in charge of things. It... Is a confusing thing, in my opinion. More of that 'lack of information available to new knights' problem, really, if you look at it."

She blinked as he came out, then went back inside to look at the telescope, as the accessible portion was in the room behind them, pointed out in the opposite direction from the platform. She turned and went to the door. "I don't know. I have not tried to use it, yet, as I am not trained in how to use larger telescopes... At least back home. This one might be... different?"

She sighed a little and walked closer, wistfully. "I wish I understood the technologies they used better, I would be less hesitant, you know what I mean?"

"I... I should, you're right. I've just been very hesitant about it, because I don't want to destroy anything." A momentary expression of old pain crossed her face, followed quickly by simple concern. "But I can't figure out what works and what doesn't if I don't."

She paused, and then said "Do you think anyone amongst the various Order folk has a REALLY good camera or video camera? Maybe I could get them to bring one up here, on occasion, and work on archiving things, especially the fragile stuff, like the pillows, so that if something DOES happen, we have a record."

She glanced at him, at his comment about having a place like this. She wondered what was on his mind. "I... guess so. It's the first place I can truly call my own, though. I've never had a place that was... mine before."

"That... might be a good idea, yes! And having it would mean... people could document their planets and wonders, record what they find, record what they do to restore it, record what they make of it." She paused, and said "I mean. However much of that would be valuable, at least."

She walked back over to the view piece on the telescope, and, tentatively, brushed her fingers on it, feeling the cool metal that surrounded it. It felt... like something safe, like something she should be doing... Well, she did always have that deep connection to space, and the stars. Somehow, this... Was very appropriate for her.

She turned back to face him, a small smile on her face. "It... Is nice to have something, somewhere, that is mine. Even if it is very far from home."

She walked over and looked him in the eyes for a long moment. "Any time you wish to come, if I can, I will bring you. Maybe we've only met twice, but... I think I can say you are my friend, yes?"

"I... I did not mean it like that. I do want to know my... the history of my Wonder, and the Knight who I guess I once was, but that is not me. That person did not live the life I have lived. I want to know it so that I can understand what has happened, what brought this place..." She gestured at it. "To what looks like a screeching halt, and just so I can learn more. But looking at my own personal past, I know that history is that... And you can't let it be what holds you and controls you."

As she spoke, one of her hands drifted towards her back in an unconscious gesture. "So if recording what we do, whether it's the recreation of a cushion or the discoveries I find here, is valuable, then I want to. I just meant 'I do not know if ALL the details are needed, or if that might be a bit much.' basically."

She noticed his ears going back and wondered if she had offended him... While also thinking how strange it was to see that happen on an otherwise human head. But his response relieved her, because he felt as she did. "I am glad to hear that, Arthur. I have few enough of them, and it is nice to know I have another."

And then she froze, her eyes wide and her lips parted, expression... excited, to be honest. "There's a LIBRARY?"
