A family member and I go to an outdoor Christmas event every year. One of the activities that keeps coming back is The Wishing Tree. There's something really sweet about tying an ornament/ribbon onto a branch with a wish written on it. Reading some of the wishes other people make is cool too. emotion_kirakira

Nothing sweatdrop I recently moved and have a whole lot to do, doing paperwork etc. Just resting is a very fun activity to me right now.
Traditions?
Besides 24th, 26th and 31st of this month, there is not really anything on my schedule. On the 24th we celebrate christmas in Germany, and that's when I will have a nice feast with my parents and my fathers side of the family. On the 26th we will then meet my mothers side in another state. What exactly I will do on new years eve I don't know yet. Maybe meet with a friend and celebrate on the border to Belgium...who knows? ^^
Who would you spend the holidays with (dead, alive, fictional) if you could?

Usually , my daughters will come over , at Christmas, or just after, I'll make them a big bacon and egg breakfast, then we,ll brunch, and then I make the traditional Turkey Dinner and all the add ons heart and I love to watch Holiday Movies with my kids, even though, they get older, we still love it heart
That one is one of my all-time favorites! ^
The other day, they were playing the Peanuts thme song in the supermarket, was awesome ! heart can still hear it heart
It's one of the catchiest tunes ever! Just your mention of it made me smile.
Hi everyone ^^ This is a special year (they're all special, tho) because my charizard (pictured) and lapras (not pictured but that's because they're both too big to fit in the one avi and my lapras cuts off my hair *sob* love you, sweetie!) will turn 15 years old for Christmas ^^ I still use them in tournaments, my lapras even single-handedly blasted away someone else's three-pokemon team last tournament- my 14 and a half year old, non-iv bred, given to me at Sylph co back in LeafGreen lapras against a team from USUM incuding a legendary. I was so proud of her.
For fun I am making a present for a friend of mine, he likes frogs and is down, but that's coincidental; I showed him some subversive cross stitch designs and he liked it so I designed one based off one that said 'The world might be full of despair and broken promises but it is also full of brightly coloured poisonous frogs' with his favourite frog, the Amazonian poison dart frog. I want to get it finished for Christmas but I have started a new job for the summer working 37 hours a week and I'm working with kids so I have gotten sick (right in time for my time off, after these two shifts tomorrow and Wednesday OTL) and I am feeling less up to it. I am also playing Pokemon Sword ^^ And watching Steven Universe Future and listening to the Temeraire series by Naomi Novik on audiobook because I got a great discount on them, half price for three books.
Favourite tradition is ... The thing is, right, that after a long time of me dropping the rope with all the parts of Christmas I don't like (and by that I mean the negative and nasty parts, fueled by toxic relatives), my mother has followed suit, to the very great enjoyment of both of us. I had to stand firm and say 'nah, I won't ruin my day by doing XYZ thing just because someone else wants me to' for years despite being painted as selfish but I did it because being treated as selfish because of taking care of myself was nothing from people who called me a liar and all sorts of things that weren't true.
Point is, all the traditions we do now are good traditions so there isn't a favourite. If I didn't like it, I wouldn't do it. We eat croissants with ham and choose for breakfast, toasted, and the night before I put on movies, like Toy Story, while I dice up bacon so when Christmas arrives I just have to crack eggs into a dish of pastry, whack in the bacon bits, season, and bake the egg and bacon pie for lunch, which is my favourite food. My mum makes fudge, the best fudge in the world (fight me), and we open presents in the morning at breakfast or whenever we want. Then, when it gets too hot to stay out of air conditioning, we go into her room with the aircon and watch a movie while one or both have a nap. And then we'll go say happy Christmas to the ponies, unless we do that before the nap, depends on the weather.
Who would I like to spend the holiday with? Surprisingly, the first thought was my brother and sister. I would like that, I think/hope. But that is a little sad to think about so I will think up another one. It's very hard XD I think I'd like to spend christmas with someone who could give me a big hug and it wouldn't be weird... hard to think of a person that applies to. So probably my charizard and lapras. My charizard has a lax nature, so he would give excellent hugs if you didn't mind him not being 100% awake and my lapras has a quirky nature so she's super fun and keeps us out of our ruts. I am sure they would like pie.
I don't think I have any wishes. I'll think about it. It's very hard to be happy with what you have (even if it's the best! and what you want!) when there's a lot of outside forces telling you you should have more, or want more. Maybe I wish that everyone has the holidays they want and nobody to judge them for being wanting. But that's a little sad, too. I'll keep thinking.

I wish ^^ I have a big dragonite plushie. My dragonite is also 15 this year and I still use her in tournaments as well. So funny seeing an old-school safari ball being thrown out since they don't use them anymore XDD
Except I felt she was very thin so I stuffed her more; she's much cuddlier than this one.
My charizard is this one: XxXxX But I actually have two since our dog tried to murder the first one. I sewed him back up best I could and made him a sash and made miniatures of the ribbons he has that I'm proudest of- the original pokemon league ribbon (for defeating the original kanto pokemon league in gen 3), the best friends ribbon (for max friendship level), the ability ribbon (for getting a 25 undefeated streak in the battle tower and defeating the tower tycoon), the skillful battler ribbon (for getting a 25 undefeated streak in the battle maison and defeating the battle chatelaine), and the alola pokemon league ribbon (for defeating the pokemon league in alola).
I consider him 'old' charizard, showing how he's battled since gen 3-gen 7 (I can't bring him into Pokemon sword until they release Pokemon Home next year) and would be a little marked up from it. The other one is 'new' charizard and I made him a wire arm torc with a gem bead in it for a mega stone.
This is my lapras: XxXxX but I made mine a mystic water necklace with a gemstone bead.

Well, it's a hang out thread XD I consider Pokemon Christmassy since I got my first game, and even leafgreen, for christmas. I think Omega Ruby as well... hmm.
Oh. You want ribbons? See, the only reason my charizard has so many ribbons is because he and my lapras are best friends and are together all the time and I decided that I needed to know my lapras knew I loved her even though I sent her to all my games and had to start friendship from scratch over and over and over so I worked on getting her as many ribbons as I could. She now has... I forgot. I'll look it up. She has 39 ribbons and I am in the process of embroidering them all. I think I have done 26 but I will check. I have finished 24. Anyway, point is, I take him around and so since she gets ribbons, if it's a team thing, he gets ribbons.
Transferring them up is a hassle, I did it the year before last maybe? Took a looong time, I did it around this time of year I think. You can't just go from Soulsilver to pokemon bank, you have to transfer to black/white/w2/b2 and do a mini game and then from there to pokemon transfer and then from there into pokemon bank. Takes ages.
I dunno, I have three dragonite plushies (I bought myself one for getting my diploma ^_^) but I don't have many else that lance has, no dragonair plushies, nor gyarados. I have lots, though. I haven't bought any lately, except my mimikyu (4laugh) for a long while. Guess I'm happy with what I have.
Aw it's so nice you still have a 1999 plushie ^_^ I love how they have such character, very iteration is kind of different.
I don't do much collecting anymore. Though I did get a new charizard figure from my con. Most of my money went on stickers from artists. I didn't spend a lot but it's good to support artists and I looove stickers. Some of those cards have art which is so lovely. I guess you could call them artistic miniatures ^^
