^.^ That's pretty cool! I'm afraid the closest I've ever come to any sort of combat is wrestling matches with my siblings. Not exactly helpful in choreographing battles. That's why I find it easier, if I can, to either be very vague in my descriptions of what they're actually doing, or to attatch fancy names to things so it SOUNDS like I know what I'm talking about. I kinda picked that last bit up from the Wheel of Time books...

I think I have book 8 and I don't know where it came from, but I don't jump into a series in the middle even if I've read it before. (which I haven't) I'd like to though.
Still, that's a little off topic. sweatdrop
You don't really have to know much about fighting to be able to choreograph, you just have to ralize how your body can or cannot move. Try standing with your right arm and leg forward in a fighting stance. Tae-Kwon-Do will say step forward with your left foot and punch with your left hand, you have more time to build up momentum and thus do more damage. Bruce Lee will tell you to take the shortest possible route to your target. Right fist forward? Punch with the right fist!
But since you just used your right fist you can't bloody well punch again when you're in contact right? And whether you stepped forward or just leaned forward you're now putting your weight on your right foot. It's locked down too. So all you can do is something with the left side. Do you move in? Do you move back? Do you dodge someone else's attack? Once you know where you stand now you know what you can do next. It's pretty easy. wink

rolleyes If you say so. I think I'll stick with what I know. Wheel of Time is awesome. My boyfriend got me the first book last year (he picked it at random; he knows I like to read, and it was the biggest book he could find, lol) and at first it seemed really dry, so I put off reading it. But once you get past the first chapter or so, it really picks up. They're long books, but well worth reading.

I noticed this one is long. o_O It's as thick as one of my paperbacks that contains three novels in one. (collector's edition) The Belgariad or The Malloreon. Either one, the CE is thinner than book 8 of the WoT series.
One of my favorite series I've read though is The Death Gate Cycle by Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman. 3nodding

Hmmm... I think I've heard of that... Gah, we're getting off topic. But books are so awesome... after roleplaying, they're my second favorite way to pass the time.

Well... we've been going this long, and we still haven't left the city or made plans to do so.

it is under attack you know. . . sweatdrop
Perhaps if someone, Grenald perhaps, organized a small Dorneda hunting party to one-up Rannel they could follow him to save his sorry butt (and send him home).

Brilliant! I like! Shall we make that the plan, then? And perhaps if we do that, Evara, being unexperienced is such things despite her skills on the practice field, could be captured and carted off, thereby drawing Rannel after to rescue her, and thus depositing them somewhere far enough from the city that they can continue on with some sort of adventure instead of sitting around as they have been.

I can go with that! 3nodding Don't rush for it though. Now that we have a direction we can end this little party, say goodnight to the others, relax in the morning with a little training, and in the middle of that hear that Grenald took off in the early morning with a hunting party. (intending on returning glorious and surprising the lady Evara.)

Small adjustment to the story, but a rigid structure often wears at the imagination. I figured after you and K had Evara and Luca staying up so late it'd be better for Rannel to train on his own in the morning. Now we just need to get this show on the road once Evara and Rannel are together again. (however you want to broach the news about Grenald, I'd imagine Evara would be called to hear it before Luca or Rannel.)

... since I'm leaving all my roleplays, can you take over the Celestial Shadows? The updates and things, and maybe starting new ones if you want. Or if not, at least keep the old ones running. You'll do a better job than I have, anyway.

I can keep SotM up, but I don't know the others. confused I'll keep RPing with K but I hope losing you doesn't cause her to leave the RP as well.
